This theater is not worth going to. First of all, if you go to the bathroom, the purse hooks on the stall doors are arm level and I personally hit it and hurt my arm recently, the time before we went a woman in our group did the same thing. We are both around 5 5" and we hit just below our shoulders on our upper arm. This is very dangerous and Im sure it would/has hit some children in the face or head. This theater is terrible because most of the people you will be watching the movie with have no manners and no respect, I have been here multiple times and every time there is someone either talking through the movie, noisy with the food they sell or just smell horrendous! Dont waste your money on this place, pay a little more and go to a better place with a better environment and better movie goers. The popcorn they sell smells like old butter and horrible perfume mixed, as I was watching a movie someone directly behind me had apparently a 5 gallon bucket full of popcorn, I was about to vomit the whole time and I looked into my purse and thankfully I had a little bottle of mild body spray and I had to spray it the whole movie because it smelled so bad! When I got close to the bathroom door it smelled like a someone peed everywhere, thankfully the bathroom didnt smell as bad as it did outside of the bathroom. This place needs help or it needs to be shut down.

Just cant do it anymore. The sound system was turned down, even after we asked them to turn it up, you could barely hear the movie over the people moving (not mumbling), just movement was louder than the movie (not a great way to see Star Wars). The prices were higher than other theaters that are newer, the drinks and snacks were much more expensive, the seats were not as comfortable as the newly remodeled theater out at Hamilton Place (of course those are recliners with nearly 6 foot of walking space between you and the row of seats in front of you). I just cant go to this theater again. Its not really their fault. Its just an old theater and needs an update, badly.

Totally agree with several of the recent reviews about the sound. At first I thought maybe its just me, but no, the volume was way below what you expect for a night at the movies. You could hear every popcorn crunch, every candy bag rustle, every little whisper, it was infuriating. To make matters worse, we sat in theater 6 and the next day we were both covered in a rash of tiny little red spots that itch horribly. After doing some research we discovered they may be dust mites. Id really be interested in knowing who else has had an issue with this because I think they may have a serious problem on their hands.

This is a very great movie theater! I always enjoy my moviegoer experiences at this local Movie Theater! This staff is very friendly and professional! The picture quality of the movies projected at this theater is magnificent! I love the relaxed atmosphere of this theater! Id recommend that is is worthwhile seeing a movie at this theater next to Northgate Mall to any Chattanooga, Tennessee resident and people visiting from out of town! This is a place for all moviegoers that appreciate, love and admire cinema!

Just so you know, the cash register attendants and the concessions workers do not make the prices, choose what movies to play, nor do they decide what time they play. So lay off of them. They only get $7.50 an hour and as a salaried employee once employed there, I would have to say in my many years in customer service the patrons were the worst I have ever encountered. No wonder so many young people grow up disliking adults. These are young people who work there so go get a manager and complain or stay home.

Sadly the family trip to see the new Star Wars movie was marred by poor seating and sound plus the AC was on uncomfortable. If the only seats left are the block at the front wouldnt it be better for the paying customer to enjoy the next show? Or at least be advised where they will sit....and dress to stay warm. Even sitting at the front it was tricky to hear what was being said?? PS My rating is for the cinema not the movie. The movie is good but will have to be seen again to really enjoy it....

I have come here a lot in the past 2 years and loved going when it was carmike now that it is amc I am unimpressed. The staff is rude, the prices are even more outrageous than they were. But it costed almost 100 dollars for 4 people to watch a movie and get some popcorn and drinks. That is not realistic. People can not afford that. They need to do something about the prices for sure and some of there workers and how they go about some things they need to be nicer .

Still has the new theater feel to it. Lines are typically short for tickets. Concession stand is the typical Carmike set up with the Coke Freestyle machines on each end for easy access to refills mid-movie. The actual theaters have the proper stadium style seating so you can enjoy the movie and not the person in front of you. Digital projectors and sound. Good theater all around.

This place is very clean and relaxing, BUT so expensive. Ive looked online around 3 times looking for Matinee times, yet its no where to be found. When I asked about it, they were unsure and looked confused by the question. The worker gave me a time frame, and the next time it was not the right times! AMC should really invest in some posters. Ticket booth employee went way out of his way to help us with my mom hearing impared! Then the mgr came to us where we was sitting to give us an extra battery just in case .then came back to check that it was working and my mom could hear .concession employee was very nice and everything was hot and fresh and most of all clean .

Since the change of ownership, prices have gone up, and theaters and food ahve gone straight down! Tried to watch a movie, the seats felt wet, and smelled something horrible!!!! Like soured laundry! I am appalled! Use to love going to these movies, now Ill drive further to not sit in filth!

I continue to be concerned with the selection of movies being shown. Carmike "manages" which movies are shown where in Chattanooga. As a result many of the best, high quality, movies bypass Northgate 14. One can only assume that Hixson is considered to be something of a "back water" community.

Not the same experience I had in the past.Went last night (6:30 show)and the place was nasty. The theatre had garbage all over the floor and in the cup holders/seats. The popcorn was old and tasted bad and every staff member I came in contact with could care less. .....overall disappointing

The thing about the Carmike Northgate 14 is that it isnt usually anyones first choice in movie theaters. I think points against it for sound insulation are fair, but the seats are comfortable (unlike the Majestic) and you usually dont have to cram yourself into the theater (like the Rave).
