My family and I planned a birthday party here for my daughter. It was very hard to contact anyone by phone! I called for a month, only to receive a call the week of the party. The owner told me that she had been ill. An establishment of this size should have other staff members available to handle customer service when the owner is unavailable. Then on the day of the party, I learned that I would not have a tour guide for my group. I was disappointed. As a result, we decided to have our celebration prior to allowing guests to explore independently. I explained to my guests that they were permitted to pony rides, pumpkin patch and the corn maze. I was unaware that the staff was supposed to give me tickets to give to my guests for access to the pumpkin rides. Since we didnt have a tour guide, we were really unsure as to the things that we had access to participate in. We went to the pony rides and I told the staff member that I had paid for Pony Rides with a party package, she said ok. We began to ride the ponies a number of times. I asked the staff member working the gate if we had a limit on rides, she stated that she would have to be there all day and that it was ok with her for us to ride continuously. Then another staff member came later to tell us that our package didnt have unlimited rides and that we needed to leave the pony rides. She was very rude! So, we went to the pumpkin area where my friends and I asked if the pumpkins were a part of the birthday package. The staff member stated that all of the pumpkins were a part of the package and that we could choose any pumpkin available. My children and I began to pick out pumpkins. We went to the register so that they could accurately keep a count of the pumpkins that were included in our party when one staff member told us politely that she didnt think that pumpkins came with the party package. I asked to see the owner. When the owner came, I introduced myself to her politely. She came out with an attitude! She stated that she everything that was included in my package was written in a contract that she had emailed to me. I dont dispute that fact, but I didnt have a copy of the contract present with me so I was unclear as to what my package included. I asked her about the pony rides and the pumpkin patch, then she started shoving miniature pumpkins in my childrens hands with an attitude and asked if that made us happy. I told her that I was not trying to get anything free, I just thought that she and her staff were not consistent on what her package offered. We tried speaking to her sensibly, but this woman was so rude, she didnt hear anything that we had to say. I was very disappointed!!!

This place is simply amazing if you have small children. My family and I spent five hours here on a Saturday and still did not get to do everything. We loved it and would have stayed longer if it was not closing. Well certainly be back. (We actually bought a season pass.) We had been looking for a year-round family-themed farm -- in other words, a "pumpkin farm" that is open during the spring, summer and fall -- and Lucky Ladd (I think) is the only one in Middle Tennessee that is like that and open to the public. We really enjoy Honeysuckle Hill Farm, and still do, but Lucky Ladd does have more attractions. The petting zoo was amazing (they even have llamas!). The slides were wonderful -- for us and the kids. My son wanted some pedal rides, and they have those. He wanted those "mini-diggers," and they had those. There are lots of things to do for small ones (1-, 2- and 3- year-olds). Its educational, too. The tractor ride (free with admission) takes you through a forest where youre introduced to the various animals of Tennessee (the animals are not real but wooden cutouts, but theres a CD track that plays through speakers and tells you about each animal). Theres a water mill where you can dig for fossils and gems ($5 a bag, but your kids will learn how the gold diggers of California did it, or how paleontologists work, using a screen-bottom pan). Theres also a free tractor "barrel" ride for kids. And there are pony rides ($5, but free for members). There are lots of picnic tables, plenty of swings, and a nice little pond with ducks. Theres also a hiking trail that goes into the forest, although we didnt have time to do that. And theres a concessions stand. Prices were reasonable (members get 10 percent off). As you may have read, there arent restrooms with plumbing. I thought that was going to be a deal-breaker for me, but the port-a-potties did smell nice, and the attractions overshadowed the lack of real restrooms. My tip: Come and plan to stay for the day. If you dont want to spend $20 or more for food for the family, bring a cooler with food and drinks. Treat it like the zoo. (The prices are far, far more reasonable than the Nashville Zoo.) Theres PLENTY to do for free if you dont want to spend anything but the admission price. (Its $10 per person. Consider the membership if you live fairly close.) I really hope this place succeeds being opened year-round. Its wonderful for a family with small kids.

We have visited Lucky Ladd Farms several times with our grandchildren. With this being a "farm" I am always so impressed by the fact that everything is kept extremely clean. We love the fact that it offers so many diverse activities for all childrens ages and our grandchildren always have a wonderful time. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. However, the fact that the young lady at the admissions booth charged my 78 year old mother, who is assisted by a walker, a general admission fee just so my mother could go in and watch her great grandchildren (who were visiting from North Carolina) enjoy the day was extremely disappointing! My son in law is active duty military and was not offered a discount either. I am very disappointed in Lucky Ladd Farms admission policy. I would think that the "Farm" makes enough profit on the younger generation that they could afford to allow the Senior Citizen population free admission and our military personnel at least a discount as a Thank You for serving our country. Im sure during their visit they would purchase enough refreshments and other products to warrant their free entry as we did for my mother and family! Again a very enjoyable place for the children, but dont expect a Senior Citizen or Military discount!!!! SAD!

We visited this farm for the watermelon festival this summer (July 2017) and had good fun. It was scorching hot that day. But the farm had enough shade for us to relax and move to the next activity. There is something for all age groups (tractor rides, tricycle race tracks, huge slides and swings). My 4 year old son had good fun with his friend and so is my 60 year old mom. It’s an awesome place to have family fun. It was impressive to see how they have made good use of simple or worn out things in creating a fun play ground. Moreover they sold water melon passes for just $1 more than the entry fee and you get to pick a yummilicious watermelon on your way back home. Also they had unlimited watermelons for various contests and you get to enjoy the watermelons when it cracks and kids had the best times throwing them in the woods after they tasted a little of it;) and of course we get to pet and feed the farm animals. We couldn’t spend much time in the farm since the watermelon festival and the play areas kept us occupied through the day (we reached there around 12 noon may be!. Also we had the best lemonade in this farm! <3
