The animals and displays at the zoo are good, but the staff is not. The staff is extremely rude. My family and I went on mothers day and after being there for twenty minutes my baby broke out into a rash and we had to leave before we left we asked if we were able to use our receipt to buy a zoo pass at another time because we need to take our son to urgent care. The staff member told us yes. We left and returned on 6/02/2015 and tried to use our receipt as we were told we could and they denied us. They told us we could use our receipt from that day (06/02/2015). There reasoning behind it was I waited a month to return. I was never told I needed to return by a certain date, I live an hour away work and attend school. My fiance is in the military we do not have much free time, so yes a month later is when we returned to the zoo. Even though I was displeased with what they said I purchased the zoo pass. They gave me a temporary pass until I received my real one in the mail. I went to use my temporary card to get into the dinosaur exhibt and the worker at that station told me my name didnt pop up in the system so I couldnt use it. It takes a little while for it to pop up so I would still need to pay. I asked her what is the point of the temporary card then? she ignored me and repeated the statement of it not showing up in the system and continued on with "its not my problem". She then told me if I paid to get into the exhibit and went to the guest services they would refund my money. I went to the guest services and they told me that I need to wait until I received my card in the mail to use my benefits and they wouldnt refund my money. Again I asked what the purpose of the temporary card is and they said basically to get into the zoo. Im not sure why you would only be able to use something for half the services. either you can use it or you cant. We then called to complain and hopefully get some justice to the situation and the manger was even more unhelpful.

Ive always enjoyed coming here, ever since I was a kid. Im so happy to see the improvements theyve made over the years. Some of the enclosures could be a bit bigger but I cant complain, WE need to donate to see those changes happen. Ive only had great encounters with staff too. Theyre always ready to answer questions or even give a little back story about some of my favorite animals. Its such a nice feeling to know theyre usually nearby to chat with when they have time. My only complaints are about the other inconsiderate people visiting the zoo. People smoking. People using flash photography in the nocturnal small mammal area. People letting their kids slam and bang on the exhibit walls and glass. On and on.. its just sad how inconsiderate people are. Please think of others. I have aspergers and anxiety and usually there are nice areas I can go to take a break here and there but I should not be shoved into by an ADULT trying to see an exhibit or slammed by a stroller also pushed by an adult. This zoo is an amazing place and Im so thankful to have been gifted a zoo pass. I just wish more people would stop to think of others. Hold a door, slap the door open button for someone behind you or ahead of you, try to avoid running people over with your huge strollers, be considerate about the rules and staff who have to clean up after you. Thank you zoo staff for all that you do. ♡

We dont get here very often but each time weve been to this zoo, its been a great trip. The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable, and you can tell that they care about the animals. We made the choice to come here due to the Dinosaur exhibit being back. The last time we had tried to see it was one of the first years they had it. My son was pretty young at that time and the way it was set up back then, the sounds and all put a fear in him so we didnt get to see it. It was still pretty cool to see even now that hes a young adult. Zoo was clean, animals were healthy and happy looking. We unfortunately didnt get to see a few of them for different reasons. Some, by the time we got to them, were hiding in shade due to the high heat of the day and others were kept inside due to breeding season or having new babies. Thats just a testament to how well they do as a zoo; the exhibits are made for the animals in which they have places to go where they can stay cool and hide and, the animals are healthy and happy enough to mate. Food was normal zoo type food, nothing special but we werent expecting anything more really. If its a warm day, I suggest looking for the carts that sell ICEE type drinks and get the souvenir cup - its free refills throughout the park! We didnt know this until the end and it wouldve saved a bit of cash and kept us a little more cooled down.

Very impressive and educational. This county operated facility has gone all out to provide one of the best zoos Ive seen yet. There is something here for everyone, young and old. In addition to the obvious animals on display, they also have shows in the park for all audiences to enjoy. Its a beautiful place to spend the day with a friend or the family. They do serve food and soft drinks in the proper areas. They also have plenty of gift ideas located in the gift shop or gift stands. Rides are available on the train or the tram, yet another way to see this beautiful attraction. PARKING? Not a problem at all. This place has huge parking areas that even have tables under the trees so you can take a eat break near your parking area. SAFETY? Also not a problem. This facility is patrolled by the Milwaukee County Sheriffs Department, who actually have a permanent office right here in the zoo, along with the vehicles and golf carts they use. Popular! Walking through the parking lots on the way to my vehicle, I see vehicles with license plates from all over the Great Lakes States area, and literally dozens and dozens of school buses which bring in school groups from all over Wisconsin and Illinois. Visiting this zoo is very enjoyable. Unmarked Services Investigative R. & P. (Not for hire) Joseph Toth

Gate price was pretty cheap for some reason parking was alot will prob take the bus next time 12 to park. Ive been to zoos all over the country this one is MEH! Everything cost extra once inside so its kind of a tourist trap. The shows are terrible and performers lack enthusiasm. Cost about 5$ per show, the train costs extra the sky ride costs extra the climb course costs extra. Experiences all cost extra. Giraffe encounter pony ride. I felt very nickle and dimed and that admission didnt really cover anything. Thats not how any zoo ive been to operates. The exhibits are very spread ou makes for lots of walking without seeing anything. Food is RIDICULOUSLY priced more than walt disney world. Souvenir cup has no refill program like most zoos in fact even if you eat in their restraunt and buy a drink you cant get a refill like Anyother restraunt in the country. No shelter on the sea lion show seating so prepare to bake in the sun or be exposed to the elements. Pack a lunch take the bus and maybe its a good deal. But 4 dollars for 12 frenchfries is ridiculous.
