Do not count on staff to help you look for a lost child! We had a great time at the park, however one incident that took place will keep me from ever visiting here again. As my daughter, who is 5, and I were getting ready to leave she asked for one more time down the water slide in the Caribbean Kid area. I watched her go up, and never saw her come down. My daughter has a tendency to overdue things and take a mile when I give her an inch. I figured she just came down and went back up again. I walked around the area and couldnt find her. I went up and looked all over the equipment and still couldnt find her. After about 5 minutes of checking the area by myself, I told the first staff member that I seen that I couldnt find my daughter. She said "Sorry, I cant help you, I have to watch the other kids." (which is somewhat understandable) and directed me to another employee who was close by who had a walkie-talkie. I told him the situation, and he proceeded to check around the equipment and tell me he couldnt find her. I told him I know, I already looked, and I asked if there are procedures in place for finding a lost child, He shrugged his shoulders at me. I went to one of the bar areas near by where I last seen my daughter, not wanting to go to far away in case she came back. The woman working the bar, said to go to the front of the park by where we came in at and she would call ahead. I went up front and they said they could not do anything that I had to find the head lifeguard and report it to him! By the time I got to the front of the park only to be told that I had to go find someone else, my daughter had been lost for about 10 minutes. As a parent this is about the time that I started to panic. I noticed the woman in the concession area with a microphone calling out numbers of winners for a drawing, I approached her and told her my daughter was lost and asked her to call over the microphone for my daughter to come to the front of the park, SHE REFUSED! No one that worked in this establishment would do anything to help me find my daughter! I had to get other parents to help me find her by walking around the park screaming her name. I will never return to wild water west EVER! and if you have a child that tends to wonder or take off from you, I suggest that you dont either.

I dont typically write these types of things...but I felt absolutely compelled to say something based on todays events. My wife (and our 6 year old son) and her sister (and her 6 year old son) just left WWW. My sister-in-law lives in Sioux City (about an hour away) and decided to make the trip to Sioux Falls to hang with my wife. They decided to go to WWW for the day - had a great time. They left for around an hour towards the end of the day to grab a quick bite before they had to go back to Sioux City and when they came back to the water park my sister-in-laws car was LOCKED in the parking lot. The signs posted on the gate in front of the park stated the park closes at 8...my wife and sister-in-law came back to get the car shortly after 7:30...not such a big deal, they would just call the business and have them open the gate... They called the park and followed the prompts on the phone queue and were directed to call "an after hours number". They got in touch with a gentleman and asked if they could get the car out of the lot and almost IMMEDIATELY he began to yell and scream into the phone about how inconvenienced he was!! Upon his arrival to the park (40 minutes later) to allow my family into the parking lot to retrieve the car he swung the gate of the park open, like a pouting child, and continued to carry on...what a putz! Who runs a business, posts hours of operation, closes early without emptying the lot and then blames and berates the customer!? We have gone several times without issue, however due to the gross mishandling of this most recent trip we will not be returning. We will also NOT support a business that cant function with a little bit of civility, especially when dealing with distressed women and young children...especially when they did NOTHING wrong. I will NEVER recommend this park to any of my family, friends or my employer (for company outings...of which we have done before). In my opinion, the only mistake my wife made was not calling the police to have them cut the chains on the gate to retrieve the car that should not have been locked up in the first place. Again, the gate was locked AT LEAST 30 minutes prior to the posted closing time!!

Terrible experience on August 31st, 2015. Came with my wife and 3 year old son to enjoy the pool in the evening, there was about less than 2 hours left before close time. Thought they might have a discount since it was late but we were still charged full price over $40 anyway! We went inside, before even putting our towels down or undressing, we tried the water and in that moment we knew we wouldnt stay…the water was NUMBING COLD!!! No one was swimming. Barely any people there. My pregnant wife said she was not gonna go into that water, and my 3 year old did not want to either. We literally 2 minutes later after check in decided to return to the front desk and politely asked the gal for a return of our $. She was very rude and did not care, said she couldnt help us. We asked for a manager, another teenage girl came out and simply told us "no". We tried to explain, we didnt want to pay $40 for less than to hours to just sit on our chairs. They both just rudely stared at us. We asked if there was anyone higher that we could speak to and they kept saying "no". Couple days later called to speak to a manager, there was no manager, they told me "a manager" will call me back …no one ever did!! Place is way over priced, run by bunch of teenagers that simply dont want to be there and dont care! No manager to even talk to! Never returning again!!!!

I live out of state and was very excited to take my family to this waterpark but it turned out to be not all what I imaged. So my husband and I were on the lazy river with our children and I stopped at the swim up bar to buy 1 beer at the price of $7.00, I kept my card open so that my husband could swim in as you had to be over 21 to enter (which is just fine) and I rode around the river with the kids while he bought 1 beer at the price of $7.00. When he cashed out our tab he stated they didnt give him a receipt. We figured it was due to not want paper receipt in the river and thought nothing of it because we actually have faith in what seemed to be a nice family run establishment. When I got home and checked my account my card was charged double of what it should of been. After calling a couple times I finally got a response and they stated there was nothing they could do about it without a receipt. I was given no options or given a name of any other manager even though they were in the fault as I was not given a receipt. I am blown away by how they treated this situation. Other complaints are the infant/toddler pool was super slippery. My 2 year old slipped atleast 4 times (was not running at the time) and they have a smoking section very close to the small childrens pirate slides and activity gym. Not healthy for your young childs lungs.
