Played this course Sunday and was more than happy. When you first drive up, cart attendant grabs your clubs, sets you up with a cart and directs you inside, the staff in the pro shop are great, very humerous, and friendly. Prices are great, deals on everything they have in stock. Course was in absolute superb conditions, fairways were great, greens were a little slow but nothing crazy. Ranger was great to talk to, very approachable. Great scenes all around the course, and even with the airport across the street still provided a great view. A lot of obsticalls with great water hazards. Only complaint would be are sand traps, very little time has been spent, could you a lot of work, and spreading the sand out evenly. Some time to the traps, and a nice grooming would make the course better. All in all, for a city owned course, it was in great condition, with a great staff. Well done to the GM and course Superintendent. For sure will play this course again

The golf course was in decent shape. Tee boxes were good with the exception of a handful which were just okay. The fairways were good. Pretty wide open just in case you did shank one. Bunkers were not soft but played fair. The greens were true until the ball approached the pin. Every single hole was raised up right before the cup, meaning that 90% of your putts that were not dead center at the back of the cup would not touch the hole. They would veer off at the last second, making for an extremely irritating day. Sure maybe if I was a pro those cups wouldnt be an issue; however, I am not and Im used to the hole being the same height as the rest of the green. Staff was friendly and all in all, it was a good day. But those cups were the low point of playing here.

I wanted to play this course because it was only a five minute drive from our timeshare but I had concerns about reviews concerning rude staff. I called and made a reservation but when I showed up I was told that they could not find my reservation. The guy in the clubhouse took care of us and our experience with all the staff was very pleasant. We played nine holes on August 19th and the greens were excellent. This is not a fancy course but great for beginners or for those who are golfing on a budget. As Air Force veterans my wife and I really enjoyed reading the plagues honoring the former base commanders at the Air Force Base. Good solid course. Will definitely golf her again in the future.

Ive played this course 3xs (the last on June 24) the last year, each more dissapointing than the first. A basic generic course at upscale prices. Play there at 2pm for $55 Or go play TPC for $40 (1 example). Tee boxes, fairways & greens have always been patchy every time Ive played. The man behind the desk acts like hes working at Pine Valley looking his nose down at everyone. Very uppity. Course 1 star Starter & rangers 2 stars Bagdrop attendants 4 stars Bartender 5 stars Food 1 star ( way too many other good places to eat) Save your money! Stay away from this course.

Played here in mid November. Its the old Myrtle Beach AFB course and now the city owns it. The clubhouse and course are old but maintained well. Its a tight layout with not much room for stray shots. Greens, bunkers and fairways were in good shape. Good value for the little they charge to play it. One of the better "cheaper" courses to play. Every hole has a little history plaque for the former Air Force commanders there. I would rate a 6 out of 10.

It was a very nice course, and the staff was excellent. Took a first timer with me and we had a blast. The only thing I would point out is they REQUIRE collard shirts and failed to mention that on the phone when I reserved my tee time. That forced me to buy two $30 polos, when we were at a Kohls when booking our tee time buying a nice shirt anyway. Had I known this I would have just bought one from Kohls and saved some money.

Horrible. We paid for 18 holes then they kicked us off the course because "the group ahead of us was drunk". Starter drove up to us out of no where and started screaming at us about the group ahead of us then kicked our group, the group ahead of and the group behind us off the course. Couple that with the horrible course conditions and lack of a beer cart and I'll never go back again.

Never go back here again. 1st of all this is not a collared shirt course. 2nd we played 9 an at the turn (5:30 pm) the pro shop an snack bar was closed up. 90 degrees an you cant bring your own cooler. Went to use the rest room an the old man had the doors blocked already mopping. There are much better courses that the people would hang out till the last golfer gets 18 finished up.

Our travelling group of 16 played here and agreed this was a fair course and solid layout. I read a couple poor reviews and could not disagree more. Greens rolled true, well placed hazards and the fairways fun to hit from. The staff was friendly, prompt and clearly proud of their modest club. The course guide is very helpful for first timers. Would recommend

Played three weeks ago. Staff very friendly and course was in good shape. They are making improvents on an ongoing basis. GM was very nice and made us feel at home. Food was good . Clubhouse needs remodeling and being city owned it seems as though they dont really want to upgrade. Too bad....could be one of the best values around. TC

Played there Aug 21. Nice layout, with enough water hazards to get your attention. Course is in good condition, greens are medium speed and true, fairways VG. Rough is very high and we lost a few balls in it. Note: they are going to aerate the greens on Aug 22, 2016. Staff does a nice job of welcoming you to the course.

Fairways were pretty decent, but were somewhat hard. Greens rolled true but had some damage. Greens were also very hard and difficult to hold even with a good shot. Cart paths were in need of repair. Bunkers could use some more sand. Overall, the course could use some refurbishing. Staff was very friendly.

It used to not be in the best shape but I played it a couple days ago and the greens were as nice as anywhere in myrtle. The price is cheap and the course is in great shape. Its a pretty easy and straightforward course. Highly recommend especially because its only $30 for locals.

One of 2 courses we played twice. Blackmoor was the other. We played Monday. When we came back on Friday the gravel sections of the cart paths were paved with asphalt. Great course for average golfers. VERY convenient to the beach and airport.

Cart paths need a little work in certain areas. We booked a special tee time so the price was very reasonable. Nice scenery and moderate difficulty in terms of the course its self. Ill be sure to come again next time I visit.

Had great experience last week at this course. My father in law and I came back 4 more times that week. I liked the starters and rangers but they do have a north eastern personality. I thought they were funny and not rude.
