Beware of the dog park, people do bring their aggressive dogs on the weekends. (If you need to mussel your dog or if you have to keep your dog on a leash to prevent your dog from attacking another dog PLEASE DO NOT GO TO A OFF THE LEASH PARK!) During the week the dogs are friendly and so are the owners. Also parents do bring their kids to play in the DOG park which is fine if the parents also watch their kids but most kids Ive seen they dont know how to act around strange dogs. Last of all if you dont know the rules of a dog park ask someone ie. Off the leash park is only inside the fenced in area, close both gates behind you and pick up your dog poop the park provides poop bag USE THEM! Update as of 5/6/15 First time in 3 months I was there, when I walked up, people where tell me that they were" NOT about to take my dog in there" as they were leaving. I decided that well give a shot anyways. Well within 15 minutes a dog had attacked 3 dogs including mine. Now I remember why I hate this dog park.

Clean park and shows alot of tax dollars, but as I was parking, Greenville Police was helping two young women cleanup the pile of broken glass. These park regulars were out for a run by the lake for an hr and found their windows shattered and missing purse. Police officer said that this is pretty regular at this park and they are looking into it. With all the money spent in the park, there is not a single surveillance camera on the buildings or the light poles in the parking lot. As I pulled out, I realised that i had parked over what looked like fresh/clean glass from another breakin perhaps a few days old. Park by other cars. Dont leave the car out of sight...if you must jog or do anything around this park.

Okay so if you are a die-hard nature lover who likes to travel far to find some awesome destination you should still come here. I absolutely cannot believe that this beautiful place is in the middle of the city. There are plenty of trails and if you bring binoculars you will see Limitless nature. Or if you dont have a pair of binoculars just sit still and keep watching. The first time I went I saw 9 blue heron, a black snake, and some turtles. The trails are cleaned and maintained regularly very beautiful. Theres also a dog park. Theres also a childrens play area with jungle gym. Theres a big open field. Parking is easy. Hands down best park in Greenville County. Maybe in the state.

Lake Conestee Nature Park is a hidden gem right in the heart of Greenville County. Its a great place to bring the family for a day outing. There are beautiful walking trails and waypoints your family can explore to learn more about the history of the area and the animals that call the park home. The park also makes for a great location to take pictures and shooting video. If you are looking for a no-cost place to take the family and enjoy being outdoors, make the trip to Lake Conostee Nature Park!

This is a gem that most people have never heard of. We always bring our dogs with us and walk the many trails. They have paved trails, dirt trails, and wooden trails over the marshes. A great place to see nature and relax. Make sure to download the map to your phone before you get there though because it has so many trails you can easily get lost. Unless you just enjoy the thrill! Also this place has baseball fields, a great dog park, picnic areas, and also a really nice playground for the kids.

We love this park, imo it is one of the best parks in the Upstate since it has so much to offer (large playground with separate areas for kids big & small, a dog park, plenty of wooded nature trails, a paved bike trail that goes all the way around the park, ball fields, open area for pick-up games, and a large picnic pavilion with restrooms.) The park is well-maintained and there is always plenty of parking. Im always surprised by locals who have no idea this park exists, they are missing out.

Still exploring the park, although the map at the trailhead doesnt appear to match the trails out in the park... A previous review says 601 Fork Shoals is not the entrance...if it is where there is a Ranger House and is across from Whitehorse Road Extension, then that is definitely one of the entrances. You can also access one of the trails from the Fire Department just down the road. As I said, I am still exploring and trying to figure out all the trails.

We really enjoyed our visit to this park! The play areas are really nice and easy to keep an eye in the kids. There is a fitness trail to walk, run, or ride bikes. We had a picnic lunch under the very large picnic shelter. Then we checked out the nature trails. There are baseball fields where the Greenville Braves used to play. We saw the dog park but didnt visit it.

Took my cousins here for a walk and they absolutely loved the bridge you cross and all the different colored lizards they saw. It was gorgeous so you could really see all the colors of all the different plant life. The informational plaques and the funny trail names emphasizes the educational and reading aspect. Definitely will be back .

This is a great out-of-the-way park. Part of it is along the Swamp Rabbit Trail, but as you veer off the SWT on to the boardwalk you really enter the heart of the area. There are beaver dams, blue heron nests, Wood duck habitats, turtles basking in the sun on logs and access to play along the Reedy River.

You can bike, walk, run or enjoy the childrens area, the dog park, the trails and the numerous picturesque sites that surround this beautiful natural area. This park is easy to get to, safe, and family-friendly. Our favorite is the dog park area, because its much more spacious than other nearby dog parks.

Dog park is popular. Its separated into two. One side for big dogs, and the other for small dogs. Bring your running gear. There are miles of easy trails with nature overlook platforms. Learning loops make it interesting for the kiddies. Speaking of children, theres a nice playground on site as well. :)

Youd never think youre so close to the city. The nature trails here are sublime. Paved walkways and dirt trails available for all walking and bike enthusiasts. I try to come at least once a week just to clear my mind and take in all the beautiful sights. So grateful to have this place so close to home.

Be warned: The address given, 601 Fork Shoals Rd, is not the park entrance. Which is actually 840 Mauldin road. I dont know, maybe its a park rangers house, or something like that, but youll never get into the park from that address. They really ought to fix the listing.
