Im not a beer drinker, but my boyfriend is. I introduced him to this place. Ive come to East End with friends before, often encouraging them to come along. Why? Simply put, I love the atmosphere. Its laid back, unpretentious (something rarely found in the East End) and its excellent beer, from what my beer snob friends and boyfriend have said. Monkey Boy and Black Strap are in a league of their own entirely. Beware, underagers that already have a developed palate - they card. The samples are generous. As you can see, the owner Scott is so humble that he gave his own place 3/5 stars! Im glad to see theyve grown, too - beer kozies, bike shirts, and other paraphernalia adorn the side of the bar more than ever before. Their new root beer is excellent - not heavy on the sugar. An empty growler is $3, and the beers range from $10-12. A "growler" is a half gallon, or 64 ounces - so youll get 5-6 beers from a single growler. If you dont have a chance to get to "growler hours", check out their site for a list of area restaurants that have their beer on tap.

Think globally, drink locally. Great place to pick up a growler or two. Be sure to check out their hours: currently Tuesday through Thursday 5-7, Friday 4-8 and Saturday 12-5. Free, and generous, tastings. Terrific variety, with a new beer every few weeks. Not obvious where to go: it is in what appears to be an abandoned factory/warehouse on Susquahanna. It has been a great addition to my weekly shopping outing.

My sister bought me tickets for a gift to the East End Brewery tour and it was awesome! Working in Uniontown PA it was about an hour drive to the location in downtown PA but it was well worth it. A small micro brewery thats very laid back and down to earth. A lot of good beers to choose from. I would recommend it to anyone visiting. I had a blast!

i havent been to the new location since it opened. everything all around was great. this is gemütlichkeit in pgh. and to top it all off, i just looked at my receipt. the prices are WAY lower than what other breweries are charging for 32 or 64 oz. utmost quality beer. thank you scott and gang!

Great beer, great people. Get it straight from the source. If youre not much for the more-hops trend, I highly recommend the Fat Gary Nut Brown. Its my go-to. Great variety of brews otherwise and staff are knowledgeable and will always recommend the best for your taste.

Probably the best beer brewed in Pittsburgh. Try the Big hop, which is always on tap, or any seasonals/one-offs they have based on it. Big Hop is actually on par with other great ipas like southern tier 2x and dogfish head 90 min.

East end is a wonderful place to stop in for a pint, fill your growler or just to try a new beer, if you can find it, that is. The beer is great and the staff is very knowledgeable. Personally, I recommend the Fat Gary.

If you like good beer, this is the place! If you are looking for a Miller Lite and a football game, not so much! They know their beer and its good to boot. Do a flight and sample a few.

The most complicated keg order and pick-up that Ive ever had. The staff was either completely inept or not willing to help. I will never burden them again with my business.

Great products, great environment, highly recommended. Theres always something new to try. The sodas are as good as the beer, too, so dont miss them!

Fresh and local beer served by a highly knowledgeable staff. Food trucks on most weekends keep the dining options pretty unique and interesting.
