For those of you that were unable to experience Black Dog Salvage before the tv show, I apologize. While it is still a place full of interesting items and sometimes an invaluable source for restoration, the prices are becoming ridiculous. After the show was released prices have been steadily going up to the point where I no longer buy from them (Ironically I find myself window shopping for windows sometimes). It is cheaper to have items shipped in from other states. The booths have also gone up significantly. Whether they are trying to capitalize on the popularity or are just passing on increased rent prices I dont know. Either way, plan on going for the fun, but find a cheaper source for your restorations.

Hubby and I stumbled upon "Salvage Dawgs" on TV, promptly fell in love with the show and what this crew did with historical places. The rapport the crew have with each other is great, they are a riot! We made a special trip to Black Dog Salvage on our way home to Florida from Minnesota and were not disappointed in the least! So cool to see pieces we recognized from the show. My hubby got a picture with Grayson (she was so sweet!) and was just tickled! We werent able to bring anything big home in a small rental car but got a couple of souvenirs. We will happily make the 12 hour trip back sometime!

I just flew through the entire first season and I love your show! I have been interested in reclaiming and repurposing items for many years and you guys have given me the inspiration to start again after a long hiatus. Your team is so down-to-earth and its so nice to see you all work so well together without all of the drama that seems to envelope every show on television today. I just wish your shop was closer so I could come and snoop! I cant wait to see the next seasons. Happy salvaging!

My friends from Tennessee and I from Ohio made vacation plans and converged on Black Dog the week of October 10th. What an incredible huge building full of amazing treasures. We got to meet the whole staff along with hand shakes, autographs and photo ops. We met the dogs too. Great bunch of friendly people. We didnt just look, we bought. I highly recommend you make your way to Roanoke, Va. and discover the adventure called Black Dog Salvage Company.

From the moment we entered, the staff made us feel at home. New Years Eve - closing at 2 pm. - and they joked w/ us that if we were there at 2 they would lock us in; we could order pizza etc in and "get lost" in the possibilities. We had a great visit and took away so many ideas - and a few purchases to use as what I am sure will be the first of many trips to Black Dog Salvage & Roanoke. Thanks for the great directions to Wasena Taphouse & Grill.

I felt the displays were extremely well co-ordinated and they held my interest at every turn. As a wood worker and repurposer in retirement i saw many items that i would love to work with in the future. The creativity in their repurposing is what got me really interested in the show initially. Simply a great place to visit and although we live 4 hrs away we will be back frequently. The sunday staff was great very personable and helpful.

On the face of it this crew seems to really appreciate the beauty of rustic treasures. Unfortunately, if youve ever followed their presence thru an old house, they are more grab & destroy...for instance, instead of removing hardware from beautiful wooden doors with a screwdriver, they just power- sawed a big slice out, ruining what was left.its not for beauty, its the bucks.

It was fun to browse the store and buy a couple of Dawg designed, vintage tables for my recording studio. Probably paid a little too much but actually dealt directly with Mike and like he says, "the value just keeps going up." All of the TV personalities were smiling and friendly and eager to make everyone feel at home. Wishing much continuing success for the Dawgs!

No idea about the product or store, but your drivers should be a little more cautious. One almost caused an accident this morning leaving the Marriott by pulling all the way out into oncoming traffic. Not sure if he got the memo but this isnt the place to shoot people dirty looks when you almost total 6 cars. :)

This eclectic shop is one in Roanoke that I frequent for things from artwork to furniture to fixtures for my home. The selection is great and the ambience is even better (Sally, the Black Dog, is an added treat). I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for rare treats.

This is the best shop of its kind for many miles around. A wee bit heavy on the reproduction crap but definitely for real when it comes to architectural antiques and oddities. My favorite place in the entire state of Virginia, so far. Do yourself a favor and visit this place.

Wasnt sure what to expect. We were pleasantly suprised at the size of the building and the mass of contents. Plan on spending half day there easy. People were very nice and overall it was a great trip. Id go again, even though its a 4 hour drive.

Went to the Roanoke store to shop and see the place for real after @ having watched every episode on tv. Store was better than expected but even more impressive was how nice ALL the staff were, not just the ones seen on the show. Love to go back soon!

We go to Blackdog for fun and when we need something special. They have made custom furniture, helped us outfit the inside and outside. We have bought at least something for every room in the house. I would recommend Black Dog without reservation!

Tons of salvage! Pretty good mix of reclaimed and antique items. There are a few booths that have some newer craft items. Items in the store have been creeping up in price as their TV show adds each new season. Definitely worth a stop.
