Nice theater, concession stand will not rob you blind like AMC or Regal. Large Popcorn, 2 Drinks and Candy $15 They still have 35mm Film projectors and use them a few times each month for classic films. They also have a DLP projection system for newer Movies. On the down side the screen is on the small side, about the same as the small screens at other theater chains. And No drink holders on the seats. The Theater is currently a single Screen however they are adding 2 more digital theaters in the building next to the current theater. Their Claim to fame is that the Blob the movie was filmed in this theater and they have the Blob fest every year where they show the film (35mm film) and the whole town gets involved. They even do a Theater Run out just like in the movie. Since I love watching film more then I like Digital I would like to see them remodel their projection booth, Remove one of their 35mm Projectors, Replace it with a 70mm and add a Platter that can do both formats. Then move the one projector to one of their new theaters. If you love film like I do please support this theater and tell about your love of film!!

The Colonial Theatre is a historical gem in the heart of Phoenixville. I was so excited when the current owners decided to buy the place years ago. I love this place so much, Ive volunteered in the past to support them. All the money theyve put into renovating this gem has really paid off, I cant wait to see everything restored 100%! They have amazing cult/horror movies on 1st fridays, and they pepper in some other cult classics on other fridays. Its super cheap compared to the other "mega-theaters", and the concession stand is sooo reasonably priced. My only suggestion is you bring a pillow for the seat -- they can get a little uncomfortable after a while. Its always a treat going to the Colonial! Hopefully more people will come out and see an amazing film here asap!

One of the oldest theaters in the country and still holds its original charm. If you want to go to a place to see classic movies like alien or the original transformers movie then this is the place. They also have comedians like Rob Snyder and musical acts play. One of the biggest selling points to me is being able to watch a movie or an episode of mystery science theater 3000 from the balcony. Becoming a member for $40 a year gets you cheaper movies ($5 instead of $9) and free popcorn and soda refills.

The Colonial Theatre is truly a jewell in the heart of Phoenixville. I believe The Colonial was the original seed that started the rebirth of downtown Phoenixville. In addition it is an affordable venue to see wonderful independent, documentary and foreign movies as well as a few blockbusters. A wonderful weeknight evening includes dinner at a local restaurant, a movie and then a walk across the street to the coffee house. All right here in Phoenixville. I love this town and I love the Colonial Theatre.

The Colonial Theatre is the best place to enjoy new movies, classic films and live concerts. I really enjoy their repertory film programs because they use a mix of 35mm film prints and restored DCPs. Plus, Ive seen some great rock concerts there from legendary musicians like The Zombies, Nick Lowe and Mike Nesmith. The Colonial Theatre is the crown jewel of Chester County and the best theatre in the Philadelphia area. If youve never been there then you should go next chance you get.

We love The Colonial Theatre located on Bridge Street in Phoenixville, PA. The only single screen historic theater in the area showing independent and classic movies, childrens events, live music and more. This theater was also featured prominently in the famous 1958 version of the movie The Blob starring Steve McQueen. Located in the heart of charming downtown Phoenixville, plenty of restaurants and independent retailers around- its the best place!

Catching a movie or a show at the Colonial Theater has to be one of my favorite things to do. Located in the heart of Phoenixville, the Colonial is a historical gem. It was built in the early 1900s and still has all of the traditional architectural touches. The Colonial shows wonderful independent films that are often hard to find elsewhere and brings in great music acts. Come see a movie or a show - you wont be disappointed!

My family and I were here for the annual Blobfest movie festival. The staff was just unbelievable. First, they let us use a 2 year old credit, which we had because wee couldnt attend in 2015 due to illness. Amazing! The staff also told us that the balcony was open & more family friendly than the main floor. Wow, thanks! We were sitting in movie history. We will return!

From almost disappearing to the entertainment and cultural center of Phoenixville. The Colonial has grown with its renovation into an important gathering place for live as well as great movies. This is for the family as well as young and older adults. The volunteers are owed a great deal of gratitude for all they have done to create a venue enjoyed by all.

This is my go to movie theater. If I know they will be showing a movie I want to see, I wait specifically to go see it at the Colonial. I love the foreign films they show. I always leave the Colonial feeling I have either learned something or I leave feeling emotional. The films they show are usually spot on. By far, the best theater in our area.

Program director actually has a degree in film studies and has worked on films. Staff is knowledgeable of film history and obscure films. Programming is creative, fun, and intelligent. This theater made an appearance in the original The Blob so there is a Blob festival every summer.

Grand venue indeed. Saw a live show there on Sat.3/17/17 and it was great. Sound, lighting and our seats were all wonderful. A very nice experience all around! Get that 5th star when the reconstruction is complete!*wink*

Seriously incredible experience. Why go to a big chain theater when you could see a movie somewhere like this? It has so much charm and it feels so intimate. The best moviegoing experience I have ever had, period.

Beautiful old cinema in downtown Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Showing movies in 35mm as well as DCP. This is where THE BLOB (1958) was filmed.

Incredible Theatre with a Rich history, great seats, and a staff that loves movies as much as the people going to see it.
