A gem of an addition to Portland. We are so fortunate this did not get torn down for a 6 story beige mixed use like the fate of so many east side blocks right now. They took an abandoned old high school and made it really magical. Keeping with the old classroom themes for rent-able office space, large hallways, old school bathrooms with a modern twist and small touches throughout hearkening back to the buildings roots. Not to mention this place has so many other spaces and businesses to offer! Revolution Hall itself is the heart of the building. A redone old auditorium. Not overly spruced up but certainly tasteful, charming and clean. Dont expect modern comfortable theater chairs or anything here but do enjoy a modern take on a classic. Step back to a time when chairs were made for smaller people and knee space was a luxury. I still love everything about it! It is a perfectly sized middle ground venue hosting things a little more than an intimate bar space but closer and easier to enjoy than a grand theater space. Almost every seat in the house is a good view without having to squint or dodge a column. Happy to support this awesome local venue and have enjoyed the list of events theyve started to host now annually Hump Film Fest, Savage Lovecast Live Recording and many many more.

This place is amazing! It reminded me of a McMenamins without all the whimsical stuff. There was a restaurant on the first floor and their menu looked pretty good. If we hadnt just eaten, I would have considered some appetizers there. Since we were there for a concert, we hit up the bar upstairs, which had an amazing draft list, as well has some really good looking cocktails. Me, being a beer girl, opted for the Ecliptic Brewing Carina Peach Sour. Amazing. The stage area was awesome. Its partially seated with 21+ on the bottom level and minors upstairs. Finally! A place where Im not the one confined to the balcony because I want a few drinks! The seats are well placed behind the GA area and the views were great no matter where we sat. Acoustics and sound in the auditorium was great, no complaints there! Overall, it was a great venue and I look forward to attending more shows there!

This old high school, which happens to be MY old high school now houses multiple businesses, a couple restaraunts and a concert hall. Its been fully updated, yet it still looks familiar to anyone who went to school at Washington. The auditorium isnt big, but the seats are comfortable (with padding added to the old wooden highschool seats). Acoustics are great and theres not a bad seat. A/C was added making it a very comfortable venue. I havent visted the coffee shop, but its always been busy. Theres limited parking so be kind if parking on the street - dont block anyones driveway. Great place for music and great memories for an old Washington High Colonial.

Th space provides a lot of different way to enjoy the performance, on the floor, in seats at the floor level, or in seats in the balcony, and the ability to move around. The show I attended was sold out, but did not feel overcrowded. The sound quality is good and getting drinks in the hall is a relaxed experience. The space is also clean and provides a modest amount of parking for a fee. You can also view a nice display about the history of the former school and interact with other tenants that work in the building when they stop to ask what is being performed. There is a nice feeling of community.

We saw the Blackheart Burlesque here for my sister-in-laws bachelorette party. The show was amazing! We arrived late, so it is our fault we got bad seats. But the seats were really bad. We were on the balcony to the side and whenever the dancers got too far right, we couldnt see any of the show. Most of us spent the whole show standing up. So get there early! Also, we went to get drinks for everyone at the bar (bartender was awesome). They have a two drink minimum so we had to leave the bar one drink short (again we were getting drinks for others) and with the line it wasnt worth going back.

We saw Bruce Campbells show there yesterday. The venue is okay, but they had technical glitch after technical glitch. On a personal note, I had never been here before. My wife and I were walking up the street in search of the place when I commented that it had to be close. Turns out that the man RIGHT IN FRONT OF US was an employee who could not bother himself with simply turning around and saying something like, "Hey, follow me. Im headed there now." If that is an indication of the staffs courtesy level, no thank you. Not until you hire some people with basic people skills.

Love this place! The re-purposing of the historic building is great, and the acoustics in the former gym (now Revolution Hall) are awesome. Seriously, the acoustics are some of the best Ive heard. Ive loved every show here... if anything it seems surreal to see old punk acts like the Buzzcocks in such a nice setting, but the floor still opens up for pits when needed. Even with two bars in the building, Revolution Hall also supports many all ages shows- which seems increasingly rare in Portland.

I went to revolution hall to watch Reel Rock 11. It was great fun movie and I enjoyed it, however seats locations are not really great. For example, newer movie theater has each seat in different row staggered such that our views are less blocked by front persons head. But revolution halls seat in each row are completely lined up straight. In front of my seat, there was tall guy was sitting. So I couldnt see the movie well.

This place is super cool! Its an old high school refurbished for concerts, cafes and it looks like other businesses. Attended Buckethead in concert and had a fantastic time. Venue offered seating as well as standing area by the stage. Alcohol permitted though Im assuming it depends on the show. Very friendly and allowed me to scan the ticket on my phone. Very clean and good sound. Really enjoyed the concert

Excellent music venue. Acoustics are very good. Nice bar with reasonably priced drinks. This place will give the Crystal Ball Room a run for their money, as the acoustics are better and the space better suited for bands. Only downside is not much standing room. Would be nice for the downstairs seating to be removable for bands where most people want to stand. Overall 4.5 stars for this.

Excellent concert venue. A bar is located just outside of the entrance to the theater and food can be purchased at the restaurant downstairs. There is a pay parking lot right next to the venue, but if you arrive early there is plenty of street parking. Comfortable seats and a large balcony with an overall great layout for good views of the stage from just about any seat.

This used to be an old, abandoned high school in the inner east side of Portland but now its been transformed to be a pretty sizeable and unique venue. Theres also a bar inside and apparently a New Seasons grocery too. My only complaint is that there is too many seats and not enough open area in front of the main stage. Perhaps they can change that.
