The Riverplace Hotel is the best of all worlds from location to well appointed casual elegant style. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and even extended it as we simply could not get enough of Portland and the comforts at the Riverplace. A few highlights: upgraded to a junior suite upon check-in, wonderful knowledgable front desk/ concierge staff, very kind valet, and comfortable rooms with every amenity from LOccitane bath products, 42" inch flat panels, and wonderful bedding. For walking Portland, the location cant be beat with the river front at your door step and less than 5 minutes walk to downtown. After enjoying fabulous dining in Portland, we finally went to Three Degrees, the hotel restaurant on our last night. The food was amazing and we will come back just for the house made peanut butter cheesecake with mixed nut ice cream. ** Another foodie highlight is Veritable Quandary "VQ" which is minutes from the hotel. Dont miss either!

Awful, slow service and staff. Arrived around 8pm on a Monday, so not too busy, and certainly not closing yet. No one at the hostess desk to help seat us, walked in several different doors to find the right spot to stand (in the middle of the restaurant). Went walk out but the doorman pointed us where to stand. Turns out its open seating, which is fine... But but out a sign then. Found a nice seat outside on the patio, it took another 5 minutes to get water and menus. Only to find out nothing on the menu interested us (to be fair, more planning on our part would have exposed that earlier). They have a main menu with expensive dishes, and another flip chart with smaller hot a cold dishes. We decided just to order a couple drinks and a appetizer and cut or losses. Ordered a small plate of duck and pork sausage which was alright, but one link cut into four pieces is not worth $12. Barely enough to share. Would not go again.

I will never get a room here and want to tell all of you not to either because this hotel and the people that run it are not about community, they are about being elite-ist and snobby. One of the things that makes Portland great is the sense of openness, friendliness and community. I am a dragon boat paddler and for 10 weeks of the year, we practice right outside this hotel. Many paddlers and their families and friends rent rooms here during the Rose Festival and our big race weekend. This hotel has the only bathroom near the docks for half a mile in any direction but they refuse to allow us to use the it. It might seem like a silly thing to get upset about but when they generate so much revenue from us and our event yet refuse a simple service like 5 or 6 people using a bathroom each hour for a few weeks of the year, it makes me want to tell everyone to boycott these greedy, selfish people.

The hotel was amazing. My girlfriend were only there for one night and honestly never wanted to leave. We were in room 514 which had a river view and a king bed. The considered our room to be a condo because we had a full kitchen, dining room living room with a couch that pulled out as a bed, and they also had a washer and dryer for if you were staying longer. As soon as you walked in to the front lobby you was welcomed. The valet took our bags to our rooms and even did a tour of it for us. It was just so amazing and beautiful there at night. We walked to our dinner reservations because it was only a 5 min walk away. But i believe the best part about our stay was the fact that they welcomed dogs and allowed them to stay for free. Definitely enjoyed our stay and will be going again.

Location is perfect - by the river (on downtowns side). The room itself however seems to be designed with little consideration to actual usage. For example, if you need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night you are extremely likely to hit something with your toe . the bed is surrounded by items (including a nightstand that is not at head height (?). Bathroom: OK Mattress: OK Quietness: OK (there was a party when we arrived which we could hear, but it ended at 8 pm, no problems after). Service: We had a problem with the valet (car not ready when we needed it even though we called around 30 minutes in advance). Usually thats not a big deal, but if you are going to a job interview then waiting 10 minutes for the car can take away half the time cushion.

We stayed at this hotel during the last leg of our trip because we wanted to finish off in luxury. This place did not disappoint! From the amazing soft beds/sheets to the wine tasting that is done daily we were more than impressed. Courtyard views of the water and also having access to bikes were a bonus. All the staff are very knowledgeable and each one is a different kind of "expert" in the area. You really get your moneys worth! Only thing I wasnt impressed with was the restaurant but even that was still good just didnt blow me away.

While the hotel is gorgeous, and sits in a great spot on the river, the drains in the bathroom would have drained faster with them plugged. My shower was a bath by the time I was done, I had to turn the water down to brush my teeth or it would fill the sink. One of the lights in teh bathroom flickered like I was in an old convenience store in the middle of nowhere. After paying $269 for a night at this place, I would have been happier paying $59 at La Quinta or Motel 6. The bed was quite confortable. Thats the only good thing I can say.

We came on this hotel by accident and what a great find! This will be our regular stay whenever we return to Portland, Oregon. It offers the best Columbia River views from the rooms anyone could want, elegant yet warm lobby and room decor, on the trendy, modern side. Rooms spacious. Staff welcoming and helpful. One surprising and nice perk is the free wine tasting offered on the river-facing deck every afternoon. What a nice gesture. There is tea and coffee in am too. We love this hotel.

I went to the three degrees restaurant at the lobby, my fiance treated me for a birthday dinner there. Some of the best fries Ive ever had in my life with them garlic sauce and ketchup. I ordered the flat iron steak, juicy and delicious. My fiance ordered the lobster, absolutely amazing. A plus service, 5 star food, they even treated me to very delicious dessert on the house and some vanilla popcorn. Great experience overall, a shoutout and thank you to the staff team that made it happen.

Top notch! I was lucky enough to have corporate rates and stay on a business trip here but if money was no option, this would be THE ONLY place to stay while in Portland. The staff is so warm and friendly and the place is gorgeous! My cars battery died while I was there and the exceptional valet staff helped me and even used one of their cars to give my car a jump. I have traveled to many places across the country and Europe and I have to say this is the best place I ever stayed!
