Toketee Falls is a great hike, and if youre feeling brave, you can climb down to the water with the help of a couple handy ropes. Watch your head in the cave, though. The ceiling falls in neat hexagonal chunks. Theres a treasure trove of driftwood. A rope for making a bundle to carry out would be a good idea. Umpqua Hot Springs are really great, but not quite the party spot now that its day use only. Still a good place to get naked and take a hot bath in a natural paradise, though, and the clear river is fantastic for cooling and rinsing off. Most of the pools are too cold and slimy, but the second from the top is perfect. Theres a surprise if you hike down to the river from the hot springs. This part of Oregon is so alive and beautiful.

Another National Forest that is simply amazing. I could spend weeks here hiking and exploring. The first few campgrounds we came across were full, and the sites were small, but as we got into the forest, we found a small campground with decent sites and that was completely empty. The sites had tree limbs that were cut down recently, had nice spots for a tent, and had clean bathrooms (no showers). I highly recommend this place if you want to hike or to relax without many tourists. Also, the weather in mid-July was beautiful.

The Umpqua National Forest is a breath taking beautiful area. The numerous campgrounds and waterfall hike in trails provide outdoor fun year round. And fishing the North Umpqua river is a hit for any fisherman looking to land the beautiful Salmon here in Oregon. Mountain Bike trails for miles. Amazing selection of wild flowers. Who could ask for more!? The Umpqua National Forrest is what makes Oregon beautiful.

An Oregon must see!! Drive from Roseburg East on Hwy 138 to Hwy 97 and climb over 5500 feet in elevation. See Rivers, streams, lakes and hundreds of tree species in this approximately 100 mile scenic drive. Dozens of camping areas, Diamond Lake, Crater Lake and many, many more. Fishing, hunting, hiking, camping and a whole lot more await you.

Amazing forest with fantastic lakes, green forests, and amazing animals. I highly recommend everyone take bike ride or hike on the North Umpqua trail. It is a must do for every bucket list. One of the most enjoyable weeks of my life was camping at the island campground off the 138 and biking every day on the North Umpqua Trail.

The Umpqua National Forest is breathtaking. So many trails, lakes, swimming holes, scenic picturesque areas. Its right in my backyard and youd think after 40 years of it it would be old, but each time I come up to the mountains Im in awe of the beauty. Truly worth the time and effort to come see it. Youll not be disappointed!

We went to Horseshoe Bend Park located in the Umpqua National Forest to pay our last respects to my husbands father. We toasted him with his favorite Scotch. He loved the forest, camping, hiking, fishing, backpacking; if it could be done in the forest he was all for it. Good-bye Dad, we love you.

Being that I grew up close by, Im bit bias... but this is literally one of the coolest places to vacation. There are a ton of waterfalls, hot springs, day hikes, through hikes, river rafting and tours, and many great bed and breakfast locations along the way.

It was fantastic here! Wasnt over crowded like Yosemite. There could be more clear cut signs to go onto trails set back that are from off of another trail... but nonetheless, BREATHTAKING.

We enjoy visiting each time we come here. The forests are lush and the trails are spongy. There are tons of plants and lots of trees. Were not used to that here in Utah. :-)

Spectacular. Amazing 5 star views of a green but clear mountain river....lots of white water, springs, and waterfalls. Lots of pine trees and I saw a black tail deer
