Im very glad we decided to stop here. We started off watching 2 videos about Lewis and Clark. Each were about 30 minutes long. The first video, the better of the 2, was about their entire expedition. The second video is specifically about Lewis and Clarks time in the Astoria area. Next, we looked around the museum and gift shop, then went outside to walk the trails and look at the replicated fort. We felt like there was a good mix of activities here and definitely recommend it to others.

We were a little disappointed but maybe we are spoiled by all the fantastic national parks weve seen. Some ok early American history and artifacts on display and a movie about the local Indians here when L&C came thru, plus a nice but too short walk around the grounds made it acceptable enough. Still cant say its a prime destination type place to go. (Although considering all the cloudy/rainy NW weather a good fill in site see).

Well maintained, very clean. The trails and displays are well done and have markers along the way that explain what your looking at. The only thing I would pass on would be the movie. It was 22 minutes of low budget, see who can do it cheaper video. Watch only if you are completely out of other things to do. Other than that, the staff is well versed in the information and not pushy. Ask questions, they are eager to talk.

We arrived in Oct. daring the rain and weather. Our luck came through and the weather was great. We had an initial problem with someone still being in our campsite when we arrived. The camp ranger was most helpful and helped us to another site right by the Ocean. I believe we were in Loop B which was a nice loop. A great place to relax the views of the light houses were amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I am 72 years old but it took a visit to this park before I had a real grasp of just what the whole Lewis and Clark expedition was really about and how hard it was to accomplish what they did. The stockade replica gives a very dramatic awareness of how the expedition survived and lived as a tight community among the natives of the area. There was an unexpected cooperation between the cultures which benefited all.

Very nice and reasonably priced. For $5 it was great to see. I didnt go on any of the tours nor did I rent a kayak but I had a good time seeing the park. If you are looking for a relatively easy walk through some trails to get the feel for what it was like to be Lewis and Clark then its a good place to visit. The exhibits inside also have some interesting facts and theres a nice gift shop and restrooms

A compact national memorial. Theres a small museum, gift shop, and two small "theaters" showing short videos. You can probably explore the entire place in 40 minutes or so. If youre familiar with the story of lewis and clark youll enjoy the fort immensely. There are a couple short trails to walk down, but this park also serves as a trailhead for the much longer trails in the area.

The main building/museum is impressive. They have a lot to look at and interact with (try on clothes, two theaters, etc.). There is a short walk to the fort replica, natural springs and canoe landing. We paid for two adults (kids under 14 were free). There is also a 6-mile fort to coast walk (aint nobody got time for dat). We were staying nearby at Fort Stevens state park in a Yurt.

Definitely stop at this park to learn about the expeditions experience. The fort replica provides an effective framework to understand the decisions and actions of its inhabitants as well as the local indigenous population. The grounds are also exquisite and information of the flora is widely available. Excellent learning opportunity not to be missed.

This was an unexpected gem. The Visitors Center has helpful guides, clean restrooms, interesting artifacts, and a great gift shop. We mostly spent our visit outdoors, though, on the beautiful trails and at the awesome fort areas. Next time we visit well bring lunch so we can stay longer. I had no idea how much fun the kids would have here.

Very educational! If you like historical stops then dont leave this quick one off your list. This is perfect for a side stop during a road trip; the fort has staff dressed in period cloths who are very friendly and well informed. I learned a lot about Lewis and Clark and their expedition, way more than I learned in school!

Ft Clatsop, you never fail to exceed expectations. With historically accurate structures, friendly rangers and bountiful artifacts, this is a guaranteed , historically accurate good time. I will most certainly be returning within the next 4 years. Hopefully trump doesnt ruin it for all of us. Thank you park service!!!!!!

Great place for short hikes and very interesting to visit if you are into Lewis & Clark. The fort is very cool and definitely worth the stop along with a spring where they got water. River hike is nice but its not necessary to go past the first riverfront area on to the canoe ramp.

Love this place. Great place for kids. Everything in the fort is interactive so kids and adults for that matter can try on Lewis and Clark uniforms, sit in chairs and beds, etc. Great live musket fire demonstration and museum was very informative as well. Friendly staff.

Kids enjoyed the full scale fort. Wrote a letter with staff who helped with feather and ink, musket shooting, earned junior ranger badge and certificate, ate wild huckleberry and enjoyed a Indian movie on their perspective of cloth men. Bathrooms are clean too!

This place is a nice place to go. It is filled with info and there is a lot to do. There is a theater that shows history movies. They have old houses used during expositions. There are friendly people here to talk to also. Outside and Inside exhibits.

Rangers are friendly and informative. Two solid films about Lewis and Clark. To see the reproduction of fort clatsop really helps you picture daily life at the time. Beautiful hikes through the forest to see other historical sites is an added bonus.

I must admit Im a huge fan of Lewis and Clark. This place is a sacred site, so to speak, for me. Go back in time, learn a lot about history, then appreciate the true beauty of this park. Best time to visit: summer. Allow at least half a day.

Really cool place... finally saw the terminus of the trip, and the replica fort really helped visualize the months they spent there. Susan did great job in her presentation of the "life" of the explorers. Can recommend it !!

Enjoyed the trip out to OR and had to see this place. Learned a lot from the visit and found out that this was the site where for the first time in recorded history, a women and slave were allowed to vote!
