I had a recent fitting with Jason, club fitter with Red Tail Golf Center. What an experience. I really enjoy golf and yearn to improve. My driver was older and off the shelf, ill fitting with what turned out to be an incorrect shaft stiffness and loft. While I knew the driver wasnt quite right, it was a known bad and I could deal with it. I didnt want to spend a lot of money and end up with something worse. Jason made sure this was not the case. Jason went through all of my clubs, making sure they were the right length and pitched upright correctly for my specific body measurements. Existing irons and hybrids good to go. He reviewed my wedges and recommended three new bladed Clevelands--loft through gap wedge. Then he went to work on covering yardage gaps on longer clubs--to make sure I had logical gaps in carry and total yardage as we stepped up six iron through driver. There were a lot of swings, analysis with the TracMan and a ton of patience by Jason. After 2.5 hours, we were both satisfied. I walked out with loads of confidence, a new driver, five wood and three top of the line wedges. Time and money well spent. Because of their volume, they have the clubs in store ready to go. No waiting around for clubs to be shipped by a manufacturer. Great experience at Red Tail.

I love this place, it has the nicest range on this side of town with 2 levels and you can play into the evening with the great lighting. I was hitting balls one afternoon and Brett, a coach at Redtail, walked past and watched me hit a ball. He felt inclined to give me some pointers and next thing I knew he taught me for an hour. For free! Not only that but his tips worked and have helped my game since. I am going to sign up for lessons with him. The only thing I wish they would improve is to have a token machine on the range. Everytime I want to hit I have to go into the golf shop and wait in line to get my tokens because they are always busy. It would be great if you could get tokens right on the range and avoid the pro shop line. Thats my only complaint but it is great here and I am happy to have such a great place nearby.

Was there for the tent sale this past Sunday, first time ever at RedTail. Lots of stuff, pretty impressive, a bit of sticker shock, but it seems that way everywhere lately. Anyway, I did find a set of Pings and decided to get them. I brought in my full set of RS1s, 4-LW lightly played, to trade in. The folks who helped me find what I was looking for were great, very helpful and knowledgeable, but then, the guy pricing used clubs was completely overwhelmed with clubs! I mean here I am, new box of irons ready to go, but waiting on them to price my old clubs out. After about a half hour of waiting around watching the pricing process, and seeing just how long it was going to take, (a couple hours, at least) I picked up my old set and left. See no reason to ever go back, they obviously have plenty of business without me.

It wouldnt let me give zero stars but thats what it should be. Paid for green fee $30, cart $14, drinks. With the cart girl $20, snack and drinks at the clubhouse $32....total almost $100. BTW i generally play twice a week for the last 15years. I was in a group of four that spent the same. At the end of the day a grumpy old pro, Stu, comes up an tosses our clubs off the cart and says its late we are closing I want to go home. Complained to the manager, Craig, who said all as I can do is apologize. Spend your hard earn cash on another course that respects the customer. Do not expect anything less than disappointment and over charging if you do go here. Course condition....poor, rate of play......deathly slow, staff.....angry unsatisfied hacks. I vote with my dollars, see ya Red Snail !!!!!

Every time I go they have tee times that are 4 minutes apart and the starter always urges us to get right behind the group in front of us. First hole is a super short par 4 you cant bring a driver out and hole 2 is a par 3 so all day youre running behind, will take you over 6 hours to complete course almost any part of the day. 3 groups every hole havent even finished 18 holes there in 3 attempts. Sub par conditions on the course itself, staff is never friendly or helpful. Too expensive for right next to a mall, go some where else if you want to spend that much money. DO NOT GOLF HERE. Only reason Im giving 2 stars is because the driving range is big and usually open if classes arent going on and the tent sales are decent but dont expect real help when there.

I can confirm everything negative posted here. If this course/range was not the closest to my house, I would never go. The course is decent for about 2 months after the rain stops and before it turns into a goat track (Doesnt drain at all, then turns rock hard) and you will never get through a round in less than 5 hours on a decent weekend (Marshals dont care, public course after all). Range is ridiculous, balls are old and the range goes down hill (Cant see your shot past 175 yards). Their "Sales" go on year round, so they are not really sales at all. Only reason for 2 stars is the fact that they have invested into their Trackman and they do have some good fitters, but others can be rude. I want to see it improve, I just dont feel like they care.

My brother and I are novice golfers, just getting into the game. This course is really close to my home so we played nine holes. Not only were the staff some of the worst people I have ever had to encounter, they didnt even know where to send us! Our T time was 6:45 AM and we both arrived early, due to a crappy staff we didnt t off until 7:15, both the Starter and staff inside treated us like morons for not knowing the course. At one point my brother was looking for a ball that had veared into the rough, a marshal arrived and pestered us until he took a drop, between that and the bird crap everywhere we will not go back for a round (the driving range is actually pretty good). We will drive the 30-40 min out of our way to avoid this crap hole.

Working with Nick Mawbry for both club fitting and private lessons has been the most positive experience Ive enjoyed in over 40 years of playing golf. Its unthinkable to me that anyone serious about their game would not avail themselves of the remarkable fitting / teaching technology now available to all golfers. The Trackman technology is used by the best players in the game - and its available to YOU simply by requesting a free fitting and buying your clubs at Redtail. I even got a call from Redtail about 2 weeks after getting my fitted clubs, letting me know that there was a $25 dollar per iron rebate from Taylormade, and that I now had a credit at the store. A world class experience!!
