Too much money for whats there even though it was only $6. Nothing really to see, no signage directing a person from room to room. We tried to make the best of it by "making" our own film. That was fun but only because we are funny. Suppose to receive our film by email. Its been a week. Ive called twice. Now they tell us it could take a month for their tech staff in SEATTLE to find our file/film and send it to us. The other museums were interesting. Go to The Column. Astoria is a beautiful city, lots of photo opportunities. Go to Fort Stevens and tour the old military base instead.

We visited the Flavel House, When we bought the Flavel House admission, they offered a cut-rate package which included the old jail across the street. We made the mistake of thinking it was a good deal. The people leaving the old jail were taking a picture of a person on the stairs showing a thumbs down, and it was obvious they were disappointed. Well, they were not the only ones. I must have spent all of two minutes inside before I realized it was not worth my time. The Flavel House needs to NOT promote places like this. It damages their integrity as a fine place to visit.

This place is tiny and barely constitutes an actual museum. I am a huge goonies fan though, so it was worth it to me to see. Lots of Goonies stuff in there and thats about it. You can go to the cell that was used in the movie(and it was an actual jail). It also shows a little bit of other movies made in Oregon. I also visited the Walsh house/Datas house(although there are signs saying they will call police on you). It was worth getting all the pictures I did of these places in Astoria. The Flavel house(also in the movie) is directly across the street from the Jail.

This "museum" is little more than a fan-made homage to the Goonies. Little of value to see and absolutely not worth the $6 entrance. Set in the old jail house, there is more information in wall posters on the history of the jail than there is on the Goonies film. The create and edit your film feature might be fun for young ones, but even with that option it is such a tiny space it takes no more than a couple minutes to review. Youll find much better places to see in Astoria for the same entrance fee.

Did I miss something? Because what we saw was pretty lame. If youre a Goonies fan, it might be worth the trip. But if youre interested in learning more about films made in Oregon, save yourself a trip and just search the net. The museum offers no tangible experience over the web or a good book. Fortunately, we also went up there (we live in the Portland area) to visit the Columbia Maritime Museum. Had we gone up for just this, wed have been sorely disappointed.

The lady who work at the museum was very rude. She refused to sell us tickets because it was 20 minutes till closing time even though it would only take about 10 minutes to see the whole museum. Plus the website posted open to 5pm and when we got there she said it close at 4pm for winter hours and we were in spring. I think it was a lot of bull after driving from southern California.

Poor service during a supposed goonie weekend she was not helpful and so we rushed to finish only to not get to look in giftshop she had her stuff by the door ready to leave prior to closing and shoved us out...very disappointed... hard to get to w construction too...bad customer service...everyone else has been great...go to fort Stevens instead

Its cute, but not very big. The gift shop didnt have what we were looking for. Needs more stickers and goodies for the Goonie lovers (other than tees). I was generous giving it a 4 star. But anything that is still "Goonie" in this town should get at least a 4 star. Get there early so you can buy the multi-tickets for all the sights.

Very small. Description sounded much better than what it was. Literally 3 "cells" with memorabilia. One room had props where you can record clips. Says you can email clips to yourself, we did but they never came to either of the emails I gave. I would highly recommend the Columbia River Maritime Museum instead.

Smells like a poorly serviced public toilet, tenuoius link to films and not worth the entrance fee. Two very small rooms, largely filled with average merchandise and post it notes from people that have visited sharing their favourite Goonies moment. You can buy your Goonies shirt online, give this one a miss.

A must if you are a Goonies fan. You will recognice the exterior from the first sienes of the movie. Inside you can find some memorabilia items from the movie. I guess that if you lived in the 80s, watched The Goonies and visiting Astoria you already know why you are visiting this place :)

Not worth the $6 to get in. Has enough content to occupy 10 mins of your time. The "main attraction" is being able to create your own 20 second video of yourself. Better use of the entry fee would be to go to the maritime museum 2 mins away. Would not recommend this to anyone.

its not -reeeaally- a film museum; its a goonies museum. i guess they cant really call it that, though its not really anything special- and its very poorly laid out- but its definitely special, if you get what i mean. unique! not really worth a second visit though imo

totally recommended to any goonies-fan in the world. it was a short but warm step back to childhood for a few minutes. the fittin movie-score and the corey feldman-references made everything perfect. astoria itself is one of the most beautiful places ive ever seen.

The price was only 6 bucks but it still wasnt worth it. They call themselves a museum but its mostly just mostly just movie posters with little tid bit clippings of what the film crew shot in the town. I dont recommend it. Even if youre a huge Goonies fan.

Have never gone to a museum and asked for my money back; should have here. The name doesnt describe the place, but I gave it a second star because Goonies fans might like it and the chance to make some green screen videos will appeal to some.

Expected to see a lot more actual movie props. There is a bunch of old Goonies products that you can sort of see through one windowed jail cell, but other than that, there are less than 10 other props from movies.

Small, cramped building. The museum has no focus or direction. It feels like walking through the garage of a movie director who, having finished his last movie thirty years ago, is now simply a drunken hoarder.
