Great local museum! The breadth of exhibits was surprisingly broad. The museum has a prominently positioned native peoples exhibit with more information that just material culture. Facsimiles of 19th century treaty agreements were presented alongside explanations of their current relevance. There are galleries about the development of railroad, white settlement, and then tourist economies and culture. Two (!) different working model railroads! The staff were very helpful and enthusiastic.

Has a variety of exhibits about the Chinook, Lewis and Clark, trains and more. Upstairs is a small but very moving exhibit about Gerard DAboville who paddled from Japan to here. Took him over 100 days and what an amazing feat and story. There is a current exhibit about the Megler and Union Pacific ferries and building of the Astoria bridge. Well done.

Great place to visit. They have divided to few different areas. My favorite one is gallery. When you walk in, make you feel like in wax museum. Dont miss to go upstairs and put a quarter in to see the old toy train running in long historic built.
