So according to that Rick, no more money then for roads, court houses, etc. Let them all fail? The Murphy is working hard to make ends meet with the money it gets. It could use more help from the community at large but realizes the economic times we are in. The Murphy endeavors to bring a variety of live entertainment to the community at a reasonable price while trying to maintain the facility. Being a movie theater for so many years did nothing to help with keeping up with the times as far as live entertainment is concerned, but the current board is working hard to correct issues with the Murphy facility as well as the management. Keep up the good work. Please volunteer if you can.

i love the Murphy i spent most of my sophomore and junior year there and it was magical being on that stage. im actually am going to be having my wedding there. the staff is really sweet and easy to work with and would go out of their way to answer questions. the Murphy is not just a place to watch performances (which are amazing) its a historical place and is in my book magical and it is a very beautiful place.

A landmark of Wilmington, The Murphy Theatre is beautiful to behold outside and in. Local performers, school children, and national acts all grace the stage through out the year. If you have the chance to catch an act I highly recommend grabbing some concessions, any seat in the house, waiting for the lights to dim, and experience a true theatre!
