We went for the first time last Saturday, July 8 to celebrate our belated anniversary. I had reservations and when we showed up we noticed most tables had reserved signs on them. They tried to sit us at a high top that was right next to the hallway and mens restroom. The table seemed like a bad attempt to add a seat and said we didnt want to sit there. We also noticed it didnt have a reserved sign. Did they forget my reservation? A few of the reserved tables were still empty when we left as well. They ended up sitting us in the wine cellar. There is no view from in there of much of anything. The waitress told me the beers they had and I ordered the IPA. She comes back and said they didnt have it, so I ordered a blond beer. My wife ordered wine. My wife had a question about the chicken sandwich wanting to know if it was chicken salad or chicken breast. The waitress had no idea and went to ask. She came back and said its a sandwich (we already knew this as its under sandwiches). So she went to ask again when we repeated the question. Finally got the answer that it was sliced chicken breast. My wife ordered it and I ordered steak frites. We also ordered fried green beans for an appetizer. The food came fairly quickly and it was ok, not bad, but not great either. The fried green beans were the best. The steak was cooked well but the chimichurri on it was dried out. To me it seemed like it had just opened. We will likely not be back any time soon.

Weve given this place 5 tries over 3 years and everytime we leave frustrated and disappointed. Today, 8/27/16, walked in around 6:30, got on list with a 30 min wait. There were at least 10 empty tables. We sat at the bar and not once, no, not once did the bartender ask how we were doing or if we needed to refill our empty glasses. I waited 15 minutes to pay my bill until I could grab her attention to pay. We had ordered appetizers and the runner was incredibly rude when we asked for more bread. It was extremely apparent that they were short staffed. Because of this, the staff there were very irritated. It was clear to see this. The bartender was terribly cold. I saw several couples leave without seats. I understood why after 1 hour on the wait list when they said they still couldnt seat us, despite the 5 empty tables outside. This place has such potential, it truly does. They need to hire more staff and start working on customer service instead of seeing us as an inconvenience. Ive given this place enough tries and will never return.

Saturday evening with friends, entertainment (Gayla Smith) was very good, food was good, service was very slow. The group had a variety of beverages, wine, beer & mixed drinks. All very good and well priced. All dinners were also very good and reasonably prices. The only poor value item was a Meat and Cheese tray ordered for $15. Description says "Chefs choice". The plate arrived with 3 thin slices of bruschetta and salomi along with 2 thin slices of a white sandwich cheese that I believe was mozzarella. What a joke for value! The atmosphere was fun, the place looks great. Only exception was the driveway which needed a coat of limestone. Very sloppy driveway, especially for this time of year. I still suggest a visit for yourself.

The Winery is a fantastic place to eat and have drinks with a fab view of the lake. Friendly atmosphere with really great food. Dont be surprised if the owners dont stop by your table and chat for a couple of minutes. They offer live music on the wknds on many occassions. The Winery also has a large banquet room available for your group. On one instance when i was there with friends, the winery was hosting a wedding. It looked very nice. Locals love the place, so if your are from a nearby area like Columbus, Newark or Lancaster, take the time to make the drive out...plan to stay for the sunset over the water! You will be glad you did. Very enjoyable evening...will be back out soon!

I live in the area and go there often. Tonight the food was great. They have continually improved over time; and Im happy to report that good news. And I would have given them a higher review except for the following reason. My only complaint is that the live music is always too loud. Im a musician myself and appreciate good music. They always have a good band. But its always too loud. Its difficult to have a conversation at the table. The point of music in a restaurant is for background music. Its not a concert, so turn the volume down so people can have a conversation without shouting. So keep up the good work on the food, just turn the volume down.

My friends and i stopped here recently after a long day at work at our restaurant. We called ahead for a reservation which i highly recommend on the weekends. We waited about 5 min upon our arrival and enjoyed a wonderful glass of wine and enjoyed the view of the lake. The thai shrimp appetizer was amazing! Our entrees were cooked perfectly. Prices were very reasonable and the portions were sizable. Service was prompt and very good. I see many visits in our future. Job well done from 4 of us who work in the industry. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK !! See ya soon.

Had a fabulous time with friends from my book club last Saturday at Buckeye Lake Winery. Food was delicious (I had the salmon), the wine samplers were a nice tasting of varied reds and whites, weather beautiful despite the interstate and ramps flooding that made travel there a little iffy but couldnt ask for a better afternoon out with good friends, interesting discussions, terrific food, wines and service. Looking forwards to returning soon

Bar tender told us there were no specials left, then next customer ordered one and the customer after that was offered it by their waitress. I asked after eating my disappointing food is there specials left she said yes 3. So to the short haired bar tender you are a liar and bad for business. And with business the way it is one the lake shouldnt every customer matter more with this hard time the lake has experienced.

Horrible treatment. We were seated and waited over 20 minutes; never being greeted or spoken to by a server. After continuously being bypassed by 2 separate servers, we had enough. Upon taking our concern to the hostess, she said absolutely nothing and didnt even bother to apologize or offer any type of assistance. Will absolutely recommend against going to Buckeye Lake Winery.

We bought a Groupon for the wine and cheese tasting. Our host Tom was very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. We enjoyed the wines and were very impressed learning about how its made with the finest California grapes :). Afterward we stayed for dinner and sat outside. The view was wonderful and the food was even better. We will definitely be back!

Very rude bartender. We were sitting by the bar and asked for 2 over priced bottles of wine only to be told they wouldnt serve us. Why? You need to be seated by the hostess. But, We are waiting on a table. Doesnt matter. Tried this place 3 times and it gets worse every time.

Sorry I have to be honest with my reviews. Ive heard lots of good things, but my experience was totally different. Our appetizer order took well over 30 minutes to come to our table, the food I ordered had the wrong ingredients, etc. etc. etc. The scenery was very nice though!!
