Buyer Beware! $30 charge for babies! We have been customers of La Comedia for a long time. Each year we go to their Christmas show and its usually a pleasant experience. We also usually go to at least one program throughout the year. The food is 4 stars; the show is 4 stars. However, I am leaving a 1 star review for their customer service (which seems to be at theme). I have a baby who is 5 months old and is exclusively breastfed. According to their website, there is a $30 charge for infants. Amazed and shocked by this, I called, assuming this would be for an infant that requires a place at the table or a high chair... Not a baby who would sleep through the whole performance in my arms. The first person I spoke to on the phone told me there was no way to change the policy. So I asked to speak to the manager. I left a message and she returned my call, informing me that there was no way that she could alter the fee or discount it in any way. That this was their policy. She said her hands were tied. Since her "hands were tied", I asked to speak to someone who could alter the policy. She transferred my call to Mr. Akins, the general manager / owner of the business. I left a voice mail and he did return my call... However, he stated that this was their strict policy and it could not be waived. When I asked if the fee could be discounted because $30 seemed outrageous, his response was that the $30 charge was a "discounted" price already. I have never been charged to take an infant somewhere. Never. It feels like discrimination by proxy- not only to breastfeeding moms but moms with babies in general. Now my choices are to pay $30, which bumps an expensive outing to an unaffordable price point for our family- or- find someone to watch my child and spend half my "special" day with my family in the bathroom using my breast pump. Im disappointed La Comedia. Good customer service adapts to customer needs. "Policy" should be a guide, not a strictly mandated set of rules. Its not what you do, its how you do it. If I hadnt already purchased my ticket, I would not be coming. You have lost a long-time customer.

May 12 - Good first... then the bad news. Saw "Happy Days". The food was good.. not excellent. The music was well rehearsed and singers were excellent in their musical talents. Harmonies/mix... right on! The sets were smart and thrifty in design. The lighting was good. The costuming of older men was poorly fitted, and the Mrs. Cunningham costume was poorly fitted. Otherwise the costuming sufficed. The characters were true to the television screenplay, with the overwhelming exception for what Ill mention next. Please, I am not homophobic, and I am schooled and well-rehearsed in front of an audience. But what I will say next disturbed me because of how it overwhelmed the production. I was unnerved at the lack of any testosterone on stage... there was no macho that wasnt so faked so bad that it looked silly. The villains were so far over the top, even the headdress was rainbow-colored. The choreography, mannerisms, speaking voices of the male characters were so effeminate, it was unsettling to me and to my female date. Even our anonymous table-mates commented on the effeminate nature of the production. Then, all the male cast came out dressed like angels with feathered wings. I about lost it. For something based on the machismo of the Fonz and heterosexual characters surrounding the Cunningham family... it was so poorly presented as to make one uncomfortable with the flamboyancy of homosexuality. Players: If youre gay and playing a heterosexual character, please learn how to hide the gayness! Yes, it shows in your voice, your walk, your mannerisms, your presence on stage. Unfortunately the poor choreography made you look MORE effeminate. Standing in ballet fourth position is no way to look hetero. This is a reason not to attend unless youre uncomfortable in that type of atmosphere. My date said that the production wasnt what she expected in terms of the storyline.

I have had a few disappointing visits to LaComedia dinner theater, but this last one took the cake and I think I am done with them. There are plenty of theater venues in close driving distance and I will be giving those my business. First of all, not all of the shows are great, however, we really enjoyed Cinderella and it was for my birthday celebration. We overlooked the salads with less than a teaspoon of dressing and the meager sample of cheese for our table of four. The buffet seemed like mostly kid stuff but I always love the sweet potato souffle. After the show I snapped a few shots of curtain call on my camera, making sure I waited till after the show as instructed. On my way to the door I was accosted by an agent from homeland security!(not really, she just thought she was !:-)) Anyway, right in front of the entire crowd waiting to exit and meet the cast she loudly proclaimed "You have to delete those pictures while I watch!" I quickly assured her none were from the show, I did not interrupt the play, but waited to the end. She chastised me saying "You are only allowed to photograph in the Lobby! Meanwhile, other patrons were staring at us and I was turning red, trying to delete the said photos as quickly as possible. Totally humiliated, I told her that was not stated prior to the show and she looked at me like I was nuts. Needless to say, I later called the manager, who agreed this should not have been handled this way, but offered nothing else. I dont usually do this kinda stuff cause I think it just sounds like griping but I filed a complaint with the BBB and will post this everywhere I can and tell everyone I can. For the money you pay, you deserve to at least be pulled aside and discretion used. My birthday celebration was ruined. THANKYOU Lacomedia!!!!

Tried to call and give La Comedia a second chance after banning the company the last 3 years, but nothing has changed. This company has the WORST Customer Service and for being a customer based establishment, they should be ashamed!!! I called about girl scout outing and they would not offer any help to allow us to come. Again, Worst customer service EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY are all about $$$ and stupid rules that are offensive to mothers!!! Horrible company; hates mothers/kids...I called to order tickets to take my children to see a Wed. matinee of the Titanic and was refused. I couldnt order tickets because the person said I didnt have enough adults for the amount of kids I was taking. I am a mother of 2 girls (ages 6 and 10 yrs.) and I let my one daughter bring a friend (another 10 yr. old). The worker said there must be 1 adult for every child. There was nothing stated in the companys policy on their website. When I called to speak with manager, I spoke with one of the owners, Joe Adkins, that said "Some of you mothers cant handle your children, so we made the 1 adult for every 2 kid ratio a rule". There are many of us moms who have more than 2 children and we all take good care of our kids and dont need some "MAN" telling us that we cant. If your children are being disruptive, then La Comedias policy says they can ask you to leave, but NO WHERE on website did it have other rule. This business is discriminating against single moms/parents, moms of twins, triplets, and quads, moms of multiple children, people whose spouse is away fighting for our country!!! La Comedia has lost me as a customer FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Danielle Proud Mother
