Certainly not a bad place to go with to enjoy an array or artistic mediums. From live music, exhibits in the museum, events that bring in local artists, and more, this place offers a great time. The museum itself can be delightful, or irritating at times. Just like many other art exhibits, you end up surrounded by others who walk from picture, painting, sculpture, etc., taking 3-5 seconds taking a photograph with their phone and then walking away. Not to sound petty, but this does begin to get in the way of actually enjoying the art. Also, there is often live music throughout the month, but this is not a time to come and dance as there is no dance floor; you might be able to dance outside if there is a band playing though. The acoustics are pretty dreadful inside though, which when paired with everyone standing around shouting at the person six inches form their face just to be heard, it becomes less enjoyable. However, if you go during the day when it is much slower, I am sure you will enjoy it.

I believe the High Museum reflects the the very essence of Atlanta: a strive for improvement and excellence in a slow but steady pace. It has a semi-descent art collection of which the ones that that are contemporary are usually far superior than the classical ones. High Museum has an immense potential for improvement in almost every aspect except for one. It should receive a 5 star for being an extremely family centric museum. Ive never visited any art museum that continually supports the family program at this extent. Kudos to all those who thought about it and continue to support and run it. The Friday night jazz is also a hidden gem of Atlanta. The high museum of Art is actually helping to build a community that appreciates art and understands its requirement in our society.

In the heart of Atlantas art district lies the High Museum. It is such a wonderful place and a part of Atlantas culture scene. Ive been going to the High since I was eleven years old, and Ive enjoyed every visit. Recently, I visited to view the Picasso to Warhol exhibition. What a wonderful exhibition! Not only did I get to view works from renowed artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Pollock, and Warhol, but I also learned about a few artists that I hadnt known about before. Aside from great collections, the High offers a lot of different events and programs: teen programs, family programs, Friday Jazz, films, etc. I would definitely recommend the High to anyone visiting Atlanta or anyone whos lived here and not visited. Its worth it!

This tiny museum accurately reflects the value Georgia places on learning, education, and perspective. What little it does have is typically very well presented with excellent educational value. Clearly the museum is endeavoring to give Georgianas a chance to expand their minds and their understand of the world. It is small and very expensive for what you get. If they were to price it on a value basis to say the Louvre it would have to cost about a nickel to get in ;-) We are members and visit about semi annually. Everything isnt about value.

Aside from being exposed once again to communist centered art with Frieda and Diego, the trip was wonderful The Frieda and Diego exhibit was well done but the subject matter leave a great deal to be desired. The undertones of cruelty and socialism were just not my taste. Could have done without going to that part of the museum. Will be glad when it leaves and something better comes into the space. However, the remaining areas were wonderful. To see some of this art, not just paintings so well displayed was an experience I will long treasure.

A world-class arts center in Midtown Atlanta. I love to walk through the outdoor space around Woodruff, especially on Mondays when the High is closed. This is when you can see the crew take down and set up installations. I like the opportunity to catch a behind-the-scenes look at the exhibitions. Grab a ginger & turmeric tea from Octane to sip while you stroll through the courtyard. Dont forget to check the board to find out whats coming to ASO and the Alliance while youre there.

Whether going for an evening of theater at the Alliance, a holiday experience at The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra or an afternoon at The High Museum of Art, Woodruff Arts Center is the ideal destination. Named after the Woodruff Family (one of the pivotal founding persons involved in creating Coca-Cola). A great, fun place for families any day. Also the ultimate destination for a classy, adult evening of the Arts.

Though the museum can be pricey with the food, it is so great. The tickets are not expensive if you are a member, and you get them for free if you are one. People that say the tickets are too expensive should instead get a membership so they can go whenever they want, free. It is so great, and there is such a wide range of art that the whole family will enjoy.

The center had so much interesting art work and pieces look at. The staff was so helpful and nice. I will have to come back again. We didnt come early enough to view everything. The cost for two adults was kind of pricey, we will have to wait for a Groupon or some other deal. You also have to pay for parking. I suggest to take the Marta there.

Great exhibits and a variety of events to attend. Overall, a wonderful experience and lots of great deals depending on the day and time of the month. Plus if you are a Bank of America card holder you can get in free on the first weekend of each month. I have never been disappointed when attending an event at the Woodruff Arts Center.

Great museum, the staff is great also. The people who visit are the rudest museum goers I have ever experienced. They push, shove, are loud and stand in front of you when you are reading something. The Terracotta Warriors was a great exhibit. Very classy place and they are really trying, I admire them and I will be back.

Cant say enough good things! Woodruff offers Free Family Sunday events with musical guests, yoga, crafts, songs dance. Keep an eye out for free tickets for ASO kids programs. Volunteers are wonderful. Great way to spend an afternoon, inside, outside, with the family, enjoying music and art. Couldnt ask for more!

Their free family Sunday programs are a lifesaver. From 1pm-4pm every Sunday, they provide free family programming for young children. On the second Sunday of each month, they provide free admission to the High. This is a high quality art museum that is very accessible for people of all income levels.

There is a little café near the entrance and a gift shop. There is one part of the building where they have American art and European art. Very beautiful. There is also a wine tasting place too. I myself drink nothing harder than coffee though.
