Had heard about this place from a cousin years ago and how great of a deal it was, how nice it was. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Well I finally gave it a shot today and had to immediately write a review. The course is in the best condition of any course Ive played this year. Very clean tee boxes, fairways, and greens with a couple spots here and there that shouldnt be an issue unless you golf like me. Also the water hazards on the course actually looked like normal water, none of that nasty film over the top that you see at some other courses around the area. And although I managed to avoid the sand all day, it looked like actual challenging sand and not that gravel Ive seen at other places. Pace of play was great and my threesome ran into maybe 4 people total on what I thought was a great Wednesday morning for golf. There are a lot of tough holes here for a beginner, but nothing outrageous that I think should keep them away. Its a very fun challenge. I also enjoyed the fact that the holes didnt seem to intercept too much where poor players like myself consistently ended up in other fairways. Along with a great hole setup, the cart paths have a nice planning to them that make hole to tee rides enjoyable and relaxing. The crew working both on the grounds and in the clubhouse were very friendly and about as hospitable as they come. I showed up early for some putting and chipping and was overwhelmed with how accommodating they were. They refilled my water bottle regularly, have me a tip sheet on the basics of how to play each hole, and even allowed me to play the first hole as a warm up since I was so early. These may seem like small things in the grand scheme, but ive not seen service like this at other places Ive visited. At many other courses Ive visited it seems that if you arent a regular, they have no intention of making you one. All it took was one day here and I knew I found my new regular spot for golf.

So Jordan is clearly a family member of the owner(s) or just hasnt played any nice golf courses because Cedar Trace does not deserve the high praise he gave it here on Google. The course is in terrible condition. So much so that the grounds keepers should be ashamed of themselves. The tee boxes have barely any grass on them. They are all dirt and weeds. The same goes for the fairways. There is crabgrass everywhere not to mention giant bare spots of dried up mud. Then there are the greens. Burnt spots and just pitiful putting surfaces. Also, the bunkers are just rocks and dirt as theres barely any sand in them. Now the clubhouse is in good condition and the woman at the counter was nice but that doesnt help the fact that this course ranks as one of the worst courses I have ever played. Avoid at all costs even with a Hot Deal tee time on Golfnow. Its a shame because the course has potential as the layout is unique and the scenery is nice.

I played here on June 10, 2014. Very enjoyable course. Hole layout was excellent with the exception of #15. Greens were large, in great condition with lots of possible pin positions. Tees were long allowing for any distance you want to play. Fairways and rough were in good condition. A few holes had the tees too far forward causing layups of the tee. This was especially true for #18 which was a 6 iron and a 9 iron. Overall a very good course and a great value. I will be back.

This course is a very fun course for intermediate and advanced golfers. Lots of grade changes/uneven lies. Terrain really adds to the difficulty of the course. The cart paths can be a little rough in places. Great prices and seldom do you have to deal with slow play or an overbooked course. One of the best golfing values I have found.

One star for the greens being smooth, however they are quite slow. Second star for the course layout being fun and the third simply for the scenic views throughout the woods. Course was in very bad shape. Tough to give even 3 stars. Cant say Ill play again, however if you get the chance to play for cheap go see for yourself.

Great pace of play very uneven green speed one to another and some ridiculous tee shots that are just plain not needes. I would go again if you want to play at a decent kept track and get a good price.
