this is THEE place to go for an escape room experience in wilmington! everyone i dealt with, starting with calling before making a reservation to inquire about what room would be the best fit for my family, was extremely nice, patient, and helpful! i have to elaborate on their stellar customer service! on our breakout room day we were running a little late, stuck in traffic. i called to let them know that we wouldnt make the 15 mins before our scheduled time window hoping they wouldnt give our spot away. David assured me everything would be ok and, even though im sure we messed up their schedule by arriving 5 minutes after our scheduled time, he was still very thorough with the briefing (we had 3 escape room newbies so that was crucial) and made us all laugh too! we did kidnapped and they knocked it out of the park with this room! the major highlights that made this an exceptional experience for my family, compared to some other escape rooms ive done, the story was innovative, the requested hints were applicable, and the room was brilliantly done. oh, AND we escaped! with 1:30 left!

We have been fortunate enough to visit both rooms available this month. The time traveler with friends for a night out and then the alien escape with our children ages 8-16. Each time it was the most fun hour we have spent together in a while. The owners are local family owned and operated. So i love keeping the money local. The owners are great people and very friendly. They have created the rooms with there own imaginations and one of them does all the building and props including the gadgets and such used for clues, all himself which i find amazing!! Smart fella! My wife and I have done one room in myrtle beach before these and it was fun. But now enjoying these rooms. These are much higher quality and better builds etc than the one in MB. You really feel immersed in them. The clues i feel are just perfect as well. Not to easy not to hard. And i like the mix of thinking clues and then physical things that need to be done once you find the clues. Its a clean place as well. Great adventure for family, friends, coworkers and more. Easily the best hour you can spend in Wilmington.

My wife and family participated in 2 escape room adventures while in downtown Wilmington this past weekend, and Breakout was by far the best experience. The owners really put a lot of thought and effort into making the experience immersive, and the puzzles enjoyable. The room was family friendly (not creepy), with many interactive elements. and is large enough to fit 8-10 people easily. I have done about 7 of these rooms over the past 6 months and this one ranks among the top. I do not know the family that runs this room personally, but wanted to make sure they got a good review since there is plenty of competition in the downtown area for these rooms.

The mystery begins at the front door! Having quite a bit of escape game experience, this Breakout Room comes highly recommended with its quality and suspense. Our group escaped with only a few minutes to spare. It has made for great conversation since! We will definitely be back to play Alien Escape. Also- you can book from Facebook which was really convenient walking around downtown.

My niece was in town vising and we were looking for something to do with the 13 year old, my parents, husband and friend. This was the perfect thing. We had great fun working together to solve the clues and we actually got out with minutes to spare. We laughed and used our brains :) Cant wait to do another one. I would highly recommend. Great for all ages.

This was our first time at The Breakout Room and we had a great time! It was fun and a lot more challenging than we thought it would be. We will definitely be doing this again and would highly recommend it for family fun! The staff was really amazing too, so thats another reason to go to The Breakout Room.

Was our first experience with a escape room and it couldnt have been any better. Probably some of the most polite people we met on our trip to Wilmington. It was the most fun Ive had on any beach trip and Ive been going to the beach for 20+ years, would highly recommend this its worth every dollar.

We did one of the harder rooms for my sons birthday and had a GREAT time! The room was immersive and very challenging. Solving puzzles, building components, unlocking doors... it was so much fun!! I recommend The Breakout Room for any group or event! Cant wait to go back and try the others!

I have never done one of these things before. But man, it was awesome! It was literally like playing a real life video game. I was so impressed with the craftsmanship of this place. Nothing cheesy...it is legit. I cant wait to go back with my family out of town!

After trying out different rooms in the United States, the Breakout room in Wilmington, NC gets it. A lot of time and energy went into these rooms. Absolutely worth trying out if your visiting or a local. You will not be disappointed!

Great people, great place, great fun for the whole family. We have done both rooms and had a blast figuring out both rooms and escaping by the skin of our teeth!! Well worth a visit and the most fun to be had in an hour!!
