Maam, if this was the first time you had done this, by all means we would understand your excuse of only being human. However, let me explain why my family has not returned to your place of business in the past 5 years: My husband had been laid off, we had 2 little girls who were 5 and a new baby. We didnt have much money for entertainment, so we had to be creative to still allow our children to have fun and new experiences. You were running a special on "Talk Like a Pirate Day" for allowing a buy one get one free if everyone dressed like a pirate. So, we all went to work, creating our own home-made costumes to look like pirates. When we came in, your husband and the crew who was paving your parking lot said how great we looked and how sweet it was that our entire family was taking part. However, when we came to you to ask for your special that you were advertising you told us that we couldnt take part because we didnt have store-bought costumes and that ours looked too shabby. My little girls literally had tears in their eyes (Im not embellishing this - they will still tell this story of how the lady at Shipwreck Golf made them feel bad about their costumes.) Fortunately, you allowed us to only get one child for free, even though we paid for 2 adults tickets, therefore allowing us to at least follow through on the promise to our girls for letting them play mini-golf. But, the entire time turned out to be a bummer under the shadow you cast and we all decided (the girls included) that we would not go back to your business because of the way you treated us. My husband has since started his own business in the community and his clientele appreciate the fact that he does not judge them based on their circumstances or appearances. You never know who you may affect with your cruel countenance. Sadly, youve jaded children toward your business. They see the way you act and can judge for themselves that its inappropriate behavior. Also, previous to that experience, I had brought in a coupon that you sent to me for being on your email list. You told me that you didnt need people like me trying to take advantage of you. I have had nothing but bad experiences at your place of business and sadly, Im not the only one. I say "Sadly" because you have a beautiful facility, but apparently you dont want anyone there who wants to take advantage of your specials or coupons that you offer and you treat them in a degrading manner when they try. Its clear that many others have had this experience with you. This community is full of good families who are close. Maybe your business isnt designed to be in this kind of community.

My husband and I took our two year old son here numerous time over the winter, and always tried to go on days not many people were there since our son would love to make the animal noises and run around. Every time, we paid for both the golf and the bouncing and often bought ice cream. There was a young woman at the register who was always very nice and polite. I always told his age, and asked if i could help him up the bounce slides when he wanted to go down. The young lady always said it was Ok as long as I didnt bounce. May I say, I am an extremely small woman, and fit their height and weight requirements anyway! Last time we visited I was assisting my son down the slide like usual, did not bounce, and we were in a separate bounce house from other children. Not a single parent was bothered. I was holding my son and we were getting down from the end of the slide and the owner came screaming at me so loud, all of the parents were visibly startled. Another parent even came over looking to see the kids were ok after the screaming was over. She told me I was a danger to the children. I could have told her I meet the requirements and I had asked numerous other times if I was aloud to help my child and was told yes by her workers. Instead, my family quietly left. As we were leaving she was whispering to her staff and pointing at me out in the open not more than 15 feet away from me. My husband was physically upset that I was treated that way. I sent her a personal message that night explaining had she pulled me to the side and talked to me like a fellow adult, I would have understood 100%. She didnt have the decency to even answer my message. I know so many other people with similar experiences with the owner of this establishment. Im new to the area, live nearby, and my husband and I plan to have many children in the future. We will never come back to this establishment after being so rudely disrespected.

My sons and I have been regulars at Shipwreck Golf for about 5 years. As the mother of 2 special needs children, I cant tell you how much I appreciate the concern and friendliness of the staff. I can honestly say that in all the years we have been coming here - at one point as often as 3 times a week- I have never seen the owner be rude to a customer. I have seen customers yell, scream, cry, curse and tell outright lies about the conduct of their children, but the owner never returned rudeness for rudeness. Ive certainly heard customers threaten to leave bad online reviews if she didnt cave to ridiculous demands like honoring a coupon at double its value or demanding free stuff because they felt they were entitled. The worst I have seen her do is return a customers money and ask them - politely - to leave. I cant recommend this place enough, especially when your kids need to burn off energy in the winter.

My 3 year old was having a great time playing with all the other kids today, until 20 minutes in was forced to leave because he wears glasses. Apparently having corrected vision is a liability. He has worn glasses since he was 3 months old, we bring him to play areas, playgrounds, childrens museums, bounce houses all the time. This was the first time there has EVER been an issue. Will not bring my business to them anymore, nor will I ever recommend any of my friends do. While we understand that businesses may have their own rules, the rules should be posted in an appropriate manner (this rule wasnt posted in the rules in the sign in sheet, nor on the website or anywhere attendees would notice). Also, the way in which this was handled by the owner of all people, is not an acceptable business practice. Also, please note that the owner removes all negative recommendations from their Facebook page.

Weve been having a great time at Shipwreck for 3 years now. There are usually 2 different bounce houses set up with slides, bounce areas or obstacles, and a place to bounce and shoot baskets. The indoor golf is awesome. Its always clean, and everyone who works there has been nothing but friendly to me and my crazy kids. Im glad to have a place to take the kids to burn energy during those long, winter months.

Although golfing areas are impressive the owner is not. She is very rude to people even in front of children. The son however seems 1000 times better. Not planning a return visit ever as long as the mean old woman ( my son calls her) is there. Bounce area is just ok...not fun with owner as she wants no sound coming out of your children while they are there. Go to the Lansing bounce house...much better!
