TRUST ME! This place is Fantastic. Great exotic corals and fish that are sold for hundreds of dollars on the internet, but they sell it for ridiculously inexpensive prices...really affordable. I know because I bought from the internet and theyre expensive and they come dying. All of their corals and fish are healthy TRUST ME. I bought a lot of them and they opened 6 months ago and I have been there from day one. COLORS ARE RIDICULOUSLY BEAUTIFUL. Im originally from So. Cali. and Ive been in the hobby for over 22 years and Im 35 now. Ive been to wholesalers and fish stores and have seen the most amazing colored corals you wont believe, but once I moved to NC I couldnt find anywhere, which sold exotic beautifully colored corals. They were all the same all over the place and they sold me dying corals at very expensive prices...I wont mention the store, which recently sold me dying corals and they have been for years to me and beginners...Now, Im not an expert at this hobby even though Ive been in this hobby for a very long time, Im still learning a lot about corals, but when corals start dying always stop buying from them and report them to BBB. Now Fintastic doesnt sell dying things, if things go wrong it has to be your water quality, but you know what, Ive been in there and theyre SUPER NICE and they really HELP PEOPLE to get their water quality back on track. They really will I heard them talking to customers multiple times, while I was viewing their coral tank. David, Kevin, and Jeff are the owners, theyre what I call them the 3 Musketeers. Now, I know them by name because like I said Ive been going their from day one and I got hooked. Im sure you will to. They will never force you to buy something, lie, nor sell you anything sick. Just like my first words were to this post TRUST ME! DONT FORGET TO COME BACK TO TERIYAKIN!

Pros: Better than the fishroom and other local fish stores. Honest owner and pretty good prices. Tanks are kept clean, corals are as pest free as you can reasonably expect, no hair algae or aptasia in display tanks. Staff are knowledgeable and will not lie if they dont know something. All the staff are customer oriented, not pushy, and really on top of things. Cons: Inventory is pretty much the same week to week. In the cases where they order new animals for weekly specials, the store only orders one or a few animals at a time so by the time you drive over, many times what you came to buy was already sold out, which happens quite regularly. While the owner is helpful and knowledgeable, he spends most of the time complaining about everything from picking up shipments to other customers. It gets pretty tiring to hear such consistent negativity. Ultimately, I think this store can really do better and and earn itself four or five stars if it were to make some small changes including using a different distributor. Triad reef critters, which I would rate as a 4.5, might be a good local fish store to look to, as their stock is always fresh, their orders are large enough to usually guarantee an item will be available, and their distributors provide animals that are much larger, healthier and in the case of coral, vibrant. Im not sure if this store is just using the same distributor as their sister store, but I would strongly suggest they consider shopping around and looking at other suppliers, as their shipments seem to be the weakest from all the local fish stores Ive visited in NC, SC, and VA.

Ive noticed over the past year that the tone of the store has changed. Before, Dave and the guys wouldnt sell an animal to a customer that didnt have the correct setup or wasnt ready and was pretty upfront about the animals needs and care. Recently, Ive noticed this has dropped off and on multiple occasions Ive seen employees selling animals inappropriately to inexperienced customers that wouldnt know any better. Im used to this at other fish stores in the area, but I really expected better and hope Fintastic changes this practice in the future.

This store is the reason my reef tank is going as well as it is. All the employees/owners are very knowledgable and know me by name now. The selection of corals is great, and the fish selection changes often on a weekly basis. The weekend sales are what keep people coming back as they are great as well. Prices are very reasonable in comparison to other fish stores in the area. I enjoy Fintastic enough that I tend to come over just to hang out and talk with the owners. Very good store.

By far the best store in the triangle and triad area. The staff are competent on their product. The selection is awesome with new coral and fish every week. The sales are unbeatable and they stand by there livestock. If they dont have it in store they will order it and always have met or beat online prices. Im glad to see this place be successful and will be a weekly regular.

These guys know their stuff!! Overly friendly, full of knowledge about their store, their products, and how all this salt-life interacts with one another. They have quickly become my favorite saltwater store in the triangle area.

This is by far our favorite fish store. They always have a great selection of saltwater fish. And they always have answers to our questions about different types of fish and keeping our tank healthy.

They have a different business model than most stores I have been to in the past. Weekly flyer, via email, gives you the latest stock and sale prices each week.
