I went to see a movie today there. When I got of the bus I was wondering where was the movie theater. I was very surprised to see a movie Theater to look like that. We decided to take a risk to enter the Theater. I dont know how the Theater pass inspection. I figured it was a ok theater because didnt smell when I first enter the Theater. When I got to Theater 4 the smell like to knock me out. I had to go to the front desk and ask for some kind of spray. Theater 4 smell like pee and it needed it carpet clean. I have seen crack houses on television that looked better then that. It smelled like a place where they sale animals. A pet store smells better then that who had peed everywhere so never go there save your money go pay for a movie even is a movie is free there. South Bay Cinema needs to start taking up donations to improve the appearance of theather in order to rebuild it.

Went to see the movoe "the martian" on openi g night.....Staff is very friendly and Great price but thats the only good thing to say about this place. Driving up to it you would think that its abandoned or a dirty porn thearter thats falling apart. Walking into the bathroom it looks like it has never been cleaned as I was staring at a sink that will not shut off and 2 urinals that wont flush. Getting into the theater itself you notice ceiling panels are missing and dust is caked up on the lights speakers and seats. Not to mention there are dirt spots all over the screen. Bottom line this place has potential to be great but the owners despretly need to sink some money into a renovation of this place. As a resident living 2 blocks from here I would love to see this place as a state of the art modern day thearter

I honestly love this theater. Is it kinda gross? Yes. Sticky floors, falling ceiling tiles, torn and broken seats. The works. However, youre only paying $5 and its not as popular as other theaters so you wont get too many people sitting near you. South Bay Cinemas is like the Taco Bell of movie theaters. You get what you pay for but its great and always there for you. Theres a reason why it hasnt fully closed yet. Because its the only reasonable theater around. As of this review, it is closing as to make some very much needed repairs and improvements for its 50th anniversary in 2017. I hope it can remain that old friend thats always by your side when you want to see the new Star Wars film for under $10.

cant beat the price !!!! I would rather go there and not have reclining seats than go to multiplex and have an empty wallet rest of week and also miss 1/2 of movie while waiting on line for goodies. I have 3 kids so even cheap theater adds up anyway. My son has autism and OCD and always has to play the claw game , i need to slip out of order sign on game so i dont waste money there only kidding and those claws have to be tightened. he picked up ball and it just fell back down . what???!!!!

Price and staff are great. But, I feel the owner should definitely invest some monies to brighten it up. Going into the theater itself was scary. The doors and seats are very narrow. Not much traffic in the movie which makes it great because it allows you to watch the movie without people being so loud. This is a quaint place, affordable and convenient. I would recommend them selling hot dogs in it. Love the popcorn too.

First off, this place is hip. Its a hidden gem. Second, Id prefer this theater over any theater in the general area. When you go to watch a movie, you want to sit in silence so that you can become absorbed into the characters for the duration of the film. THIS theater is probably the only one in the area which allows you to do that. So quiet, dont have to deal with any rowdy crowds or long lines. Its the best.

We are thrilled this place exists. Sure its not fancy, but they get FIRST RUN movies at prices of $5 before six pm. Find that somewhere else! Also very friendly staff. Its next to impossible for a family of four to go to another theater without spending close to $80 for 90 minutes of entertainment. This place makes it happen for people that simply cant afford those kind of crazy prices. Thank you South Bay!

$5 Matinees and its close to us! I dont want this little theatre to go away so I always check to see if the movie I want to see is playing. It used to be we had two but the one in the heart of Babylon Village closed and I think thats such a loss. Between the two we rarely had to go to Farmingdale or Deer Park to see a movie. I would love to see it renovated!

For people that dont like to spend $60 to $80 its the best movie theater you can ask for movies before 6pm $6 movies after 6pm $8 large popcorn $4 large soda $4 and candy $3 you can get all that for the price of 2 movie tickets at any other theater.... i go once a week and to me movies arent that important to when i need to spend $70 for 2 hours

This theater is an acquired taste. We call it the sticky theater because sometimes the floors are a big sticky. But for the prices they charge, you cant complain too much. I agree with the previous comment that they do have great pop corn and it makes going to the movies with a big family affordable. I hope they stay open for a long time.

If youre looking for a local, inexpensive movie theater and want to avoid the crazy crowds then this theater is for you. Although the building is in desperate need of a renovation, the popcorn is fresh and the employees are first rate. Ryan the usher was very helpful and courteous. Thanks for a great experience for me and my kids.

Been coming to this theater for over 25 years....probably longer. Its a gem of the past. Place is a great reminder of how things used to be. A staple of West Babylon, its affordable, charming, and a great place to immerse yourself in a film.

The worker Jackie is extremely personable polite and kind and made me and my date (Nina) feel like home. She answered all my questions and had a very warm temperament. Definitely will be coming back just for Jackie.

Honestly? For $5 its not too bad. Yeah its ugly as hell but you get what you pay for. They usually have popular movies as well! Im happy to hear that theyre going through a renovation to update their apperence.

This place is a total dump but we love it! Makes you feel like the old days of going to the movies and its only 5 bucks no matter when you go!! Not for the fancy theater lovers who like to recline!

Honestly that movie theater is disgusting it is falling apart and no one ever goes there. Yes it is cheap but gross. Id rather spend $17 on a ticket at any Farmingdale theater. I dont recommend it.
