Some time ago, my friends and I were kicked out for trying to sneak into an R-rated movie. This was annoying, but I guess deserved (in spite of one of the workers following us into the theater and waiting for us as we returned from the bathroom). I thought it was just something they did with any group of teenagers who got caught, regardless of the fact that we were predominantly people of color....until just a week ago when I heard a white guy bragging about getting caught trying to sneak into a movie, but was still allowed to watch the movie he paid for. We did not get such service. We were kicked out, with no refund, not allowed to watch the movie we paid for, and escorted by a security guard who yelled at us as we were driving away. My friends were right about claiming we were racially targeted, and I shouldve listened to them.

This place drives me crazy, yet I still go, ugh.. they are often understaffed at the front ticket counter. They had ONE person working last week, and he was tied up with some people over some matter, and the couple behind me in line just left. The seats in the theater are often ripped, very tired looking, and the whole place smells frowsy, like the seats could use a good cleaning. I cant count the number of times Ive had to go down to tell somebody that there was no picture, just sound, when the movie was starting. AND this is recent: I have noticed that the sound seems off. I go to the movies a lot, and at the 3 recent ones I saw, while the sound effects/music are loud enough, the dialogue was too quiet and muffled sounding! Not sure what is going on with that. I find myself going to Bloomfield more often now.

Went to an early screening of King Arthur tonight. The rules of these types of screenings are usually you cant pull your phone out... for anything... as that runs the risk of someone taking a picture/video of the movie and posting it online ahead of the official release. Everybody knows this rule. Ive seen the security boot people for violating this rule before, no exceptions. Tonight, the security decided to take a night off, at everyone elses expense. A man took his phone out TWICE, turned his flashlight on, flashed it in everybodys eyes and was very disturbing. He actually got into it with several other moviegoers, and security did NOTHING. Im sorry... I find it extremely disconcerting and I will reconsider coming back.

Horrible experience. Floors were dirty, atmosphere was treacherous, and the attitudes I have received from people here were an abomination. The low quality and dinginess of this place originates from the customers themselves. Uncultured audience members would talk during the entire movie, be on their phones, and set a bad example for kids. This is where a never ending cycle of bad manners occur. Many do not have respect for other peoples comfort or for other people at all. If one person does not respect another, how do you expect that other person to respect someone else? Management here needs to get there act together, enforce rules, clean up the place, and stop making their business a public squalor(slum). Distasteful.

Went last night to see Rogue One. The picture was so poorly lit you couldnt make out what was happening on the screen. We walked out not even 4 minutes into the movie and asked for our money back. Then we drove straight to AMC Loews in Plainville where we paid $2 extra for a guaranteed bright and clear picture, and wonderfully comfortable reclining seating. I gave Bow Tie one star because even though the only unsatisfactory part of my experience was the picture quality, Id say if you arent able to actually SEE the movie at a movie theater, then the rest of the experience really doesnt matter.

Possibly the worst movie theater Ive been to in the state of Connecticut. Unwelcoming staff, filthy, technical errors and terrible seats. The lights came on midway through my movie and were on for about 5 minutes before anyone corrected it. On top of that the seats were static and had no flexibility to them whatsoever. The only reason Im giving them 2 stars rather than one, is because they had a movie that no other theater was showing. I advise people to drive to Southington and go to the AMC theater there. Ive never had an issue there and their prices are night and day better.

This place is a dump and is a terribly managed. The first experience was bad but I was willing to give it another try. I figured maybe it was a fluke...the second experience was worse. The theater seats were uncomfortable, unclean and there was a weird odor in the theater itself. Also, our movie was supposed to begin at 7:45, it was 8 p.m. and the previews werent even on. I had to find an employee to let him know, our movie started 35 minutes late. Poorly ran, poorly kept and an overall terrible experience. Drive far from this place, youll be happy that you did.

Im a hartford resident and iv been to a couple theaters this bow tie is decent nothing too fancy just a good place to spend some time. The staff to me was always kinda slowish I guess and it looks like there always understaffed but one thing I will say is if you do plan on watching a movie friday or saturday night becareful because seeing as the theaters walking distance away ALOT of little kinds tend to be there so if you want to enjoy a nice movie or knowing hartford a good place to....NOT watch a movie ;) lol...going early those days would help a lot.

This movie theater is so gross! My wife and I went last night and as soon as we walked in the theater it smelled so bad like they have a rat problem. And the seats are disgusting! I felt like I needed to wear a hazmat suit. It was also very hot in there. We werent even in there for more than 10 minutes before I had to ask for a refund. Luckily, there wasnt an issue getting our money back but the manager wouldnt even look at me let alone acknowledge that there was anything wrong... Save your money and go somewhere else

Manager and Staff are unable to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Manager is ridiculously unfit for the position. Staff is rude and uneducated in matters of customer service. I doubt yelling at a customers is kind of experience people wish to have here. This establishment is beyond filthy. Everything is dusty, sticky or has some sort of stain. This place is in desperate need of remodeling and new managment. Do not go here.
