Deer Park Cinema is a local establishment that has been serving the community for years. While it may not offer the most luxurious experience, it remains a convenient option for movie-goers in the area. However, the cinema could benefit from modern upgrades and a focus on customer service to enhance the overall experience.

I only go when I have no other choice. Deer Park is an example of what happens when youre one of the only multi-cinemas within an hours drive from most spots on the Peninsula, or at least on this side of Hood Canal. 1. They "rent" the 3D glasses, which are free everywhere else. And they have a Nazi...I mean usher standing there making sure you dont commit the crime of taking glasses that you essentially paid for. Just do what I do....bring your own that you got from AMC or Edwards, or any other theater for that matter. 2. Apparently they think the practice of rounding up on concession prices is a way to....actually, I have no idea why they do it that way. What I do know is that they are the ONLY theater where your drink and popcorn will cost $10.39....instead of $10.50. Because you know what? Ill gladly round up just so I dont have to carry the change around. I can swing that .11 cents. Its an example of being penny-wise but pound foolish. 3. The signage there seems intent on sucking every bit of enjoyment out of the experience. "No talking on cell phones in the lobby!" "All bags are subject to search!" Those are just the ones off the top of my head. Otherwise, enjoy yourself. Oh, and apparently whoever runs the place has instituted a zero-tolerance policy on common sense. For example, when I enter the theater after presenting the ticket to the guard in the booth, I choose my seats, THEN I go get whatever Im going to eat or drink. And whenever I do, I TELL the guy as I walk by, "Ill be right back, Im going to get something to drink." Then I walk the 15 feet, get my stuff, return, and invariably, "May I see your ticket stub please?" REALLY? I mean, I know that a new study has come out that says our attention span is now officially shorter than goldfish, but come ON. And dont waste your time with the, "I just walked by. I just TALKED TO YOU." Because youre going to get a helpless shrug, which leads me to believe this isnt by their choice. Basically, their whole attitude practically screams out, "Were the only movie theater out here so we can treat you however we want!!!!! Dont like it? Drive to Silverdale! Bwahahahahahaha!" So, yeah, I drive to Silverdale, or I go to the Rose in Port Townsend.

People are sitting there saying that its because were a small town and only theater around, well I went to one out in Yelm Wa. It is as small as forks, anyways great place, They had leather electrical reclining chairs, only thing i wanted was a nice blanket and would have felt at home. But Going to this one, it use to be a lot better when I was younger. But yes the seats have gotten their worn in butt mark, fulfilled life. Some of their employers are nice, some also seem to sometimes disappear?? Their arcade closes early, I remember using that as time to waste for being picked up. Oh and Last time they tried charging us for teenagers that were behind us like 10 feet, We were like um no just us 2 adults, and 2 toddlers. My oldest at that point was only two And it costed $28 when its $11 or $12 a adult. The first tried charging us $38. I know somehow they over charged us but it was whatever considering we just wanted to take the kids to see inside out. But now we have a newborn, a 1 1/2 yr old and just turned 3 yr old. I thought under 5 they dont cost?? Well anyways the only reason I decided to write about this is because we have a gift card to go there and I dont know how they act with those. I do know I would like to take my honey to the extremely comfortable one there in Yelm. And their price for a adult and 4 teens was only like $56... that here we all know would end up being way more. But each their own. Sometimes you have to deal with what you got... Or wait a couple months for redbox or safeway.

I am grateful that we have the Deer Park Cinema, other than what we had when I first moved to the Olympic Peninsula. It is VERY expensive to run a cinema, the cost of digital upgrade from film projectors is HUGE, sound, seating, and so on.National averages show overall theater attendance is down. The family that owns these cinemas over the years do the best they can to keep our theater clean, presentable and current as possible. Their website shows they own more than one theater. The Lincoln theater in Port Angeles had to be closed because the cost of conversion and upgrades were too costly. Could there be a upgraded theater, better popcorn, better food, and so on, yes make suggestions, be respectful and in time hopefully changes can take place. The owners were going to build a new theater in Sequim, but the economy affected that project. It has been challenging for businesses just to stay open for these last 6 years. We all remember the last several years, so people are grateful to have employment. Hopefully the economy will continue to improve and we can have a remodeled or new theater. In any event, as I said, I am grateful for our local Deer Park Cinema, and the local family that owns and runs it. Happy New Year to you all.

I attend the theater as often as there is a decent movie to see and am always glad to be there. The truth is that the ticket price goes to the movie providers, so the only money keeping the staff employed and the theater open comes from the concessions. I am more than happy to pay to help the cause. The popcorn is continually being popped and is 5-10 minutes fresh when there is enough attendance to keep it popping. I look forward to seeing the staff. They are courteous and professional and conversational if you engage them. Always friendly, always smiling. I have never seen anything dirty, although I dont take a flashlight in to the theater to examine the seat coverings like the other guy. The only problem area is the floor beneath the urinals where guys cant seem to get it right. I dont expect a staff member to stand there and clean up after each user. All in all, I really enjoy going there and just wish there were more decent films available.

Went to see Gardians vol2 today at 4, waited in line, got to the ticket box, told us there was problems with the projector, so go back and wait, waited for a little bit got back in line, got back to the ticket sales, she then told us that there isnt going to be a movie at 4 at all.. and posted a little sign ""saying 4:00 showing was sold out" (should of said their junk equipment had failed) and told us to ,come back to the 6:30 showing, which will cost more. Management should of sold the latter showing tickets at matinee prices for all those who waited in line.... twice. This place is so crappy, if there was any other theaters in town, this one would be out out of business, always a sub par experience here, to bad its the only theater close by. Ill almost always wait for a movie to available for home before coming here.... Might be the worst theater Ive been too
