Did a little research as I am from California and wanted to try local wines of New York. The tasting room is situated next to the lock systems in Lockport inside the old town hall. Although the decor is made up of cool colors, the feeling when you walk in is warm and the hostess is very inviting and a wonderful conversationist with a vast amount of history of the area. The wines that are made with the Flight of Five logo are made from grapes grown in the area. The other few wines that they also have available are local, so you will definitely get the local experience. As I was looking, the only wine that they have that is grown both in California and New York is a chardonnay. I was more into drinking something new so I did not try it. Their signature tasting is a set of five of their wines named after the five locks in Lockport (there is a picture just inside the door of the old lock system) and was presented in a very unique stand with all five wines in a spiral. They started with a red wine, dry wine and ended with a sweet, dessert wine made of Niagara grapes. These wines are incomparable wines that are made in California. If you like experiencing different tastes that will give you an appreciation of wines that are grown and made in a cooler climate definitely check out this winery! You will definitely enjoy the flavors!

For the Hallowine tour the Flight Five Winery was our first stop. With me was a group of 12 which we were very excited about it. When we entered the building they were not welcoming at all. On our arrival we are to receive a wine glass with the name of the winery that we went to first, which was suppose to have the wineries name on it. Some of the people in the group did not receive the wine glass with the name of the winery on it, and when they went to politely change the glass, one of the women were being rude and very disrespect! She even went far as using profanity!! The staff as a whole was the rudest I have ever seen, very disorganized, and I will say that ALL 12 of the people in my group will NEVER be going back to this winery!

A neatly organized winery in a quaint old building. The owner/hostess was extremely courteous and friendly. A good collection of wines, most of the brews named after the Locks of the area, reasonably priced. There are locally brewed beers as well. And kids get to taste a bunch of fruit mocktails for just $2. It was even better perhaps we went one hour before closing on a Sunday, not too much of a crowd. All in all, a good, old world urban winery...though Lockport itself is small-town urban only. I would recommend anyone visiting Lockport to definitely go to Flight of Five

Great Historic Building, and Wine. Sits right next to the Flight of Five Locks in the Historic Old City Hall Building. They have five wines for tastings named after each number lock. all are very good! Plus they have wines from some of the other Wineries of the Niagara Region, as well as local food that are made in the area as well. This is a must stop if checking out the Niagara Region or Lockport.

This is one of the nicer and more interesting wineries I have been in. And I have been to many wineries in New York State and Niagara Trail, Canada. The Cayuga is the best you will ever drink and the bottle is only $20. The atmosphere is great and its located next to the locks/canal trail. Please...check it out. Even if youre just driving through the area. The wine is really almost perfect.

Excellent environment. Cozy, inviting and quaint with historic architecture. Visiting from Texas we were welcomed with a warm inviting smile. Jackie seemed to be genuinely interested in her visitors. She made us feel at home while asking a bit about us and our trip. We were delightfully impressed with the Flight of Five, we bought a bottle of Lock71 to accompany us back to Texas.
