For the most part a really nice course, but theres about 3 or 4 holes that are tricked up with bunkers in the middle and all throughout the landing zones. Itd be one thing if it were at a particular distance giving the choice to either lay up or go for it but theyre spread from 200 to 320 yards all throughout the fairway on a couple of par 4s. The staff was a whole other issue. I was scolded for parking in the far corner of the lot and was told I should park by the bag drop. I have a truck and its difficult to get clubs in and out if cars park on either side. He told me it was the employee parking lot...there were no signs. It was raining that day with no guarantee the rain would stop. As we waited the staff kept pushing us to check in. We finally decide to give it a go as we traveled to get there and when we asked for a couple of dry towels they looked at us like we were crazy and said they didnt have any. We asked the starter and said they were being washed but would bring some out...never happened. Anyways, finished the day up and had a drink and I can honestly say there wasnt one friendly person we dealt with. Actually, two of our guys ran into Michael Breed and said he was extremely friendly. Anyways, for $240 I expected sooooo much more, and would find it really hard to justify going back.

Overall a good park. Nothing too fancy but a nice place to get away from the bustle of the city and have a picnic or enjoy some sports. Beautiful scenic view of the water. I ride my bike through here frequently and have hiked in the back to the Whitestone bridge. People love to play soccer over here, fly planes, cricket, so many different and fun things. Be very careful of ticks! DO NOT go past the cleared areas for any reason! The place is INFESTED with ticks beyond clearings, I know Ive made the mistake of going in and finding several attached to my leg and sneakers.

There was a time, when locals of the Bronx, Long Island and Queens could ride dirt bikes here, when it was still an active landfill. Ironic that back then this place was of some use to the community. They covered the trash mountains with grass, and instead of giving the area something it could use, they built a golf course. I shake my head at decisions like this. Whenever I drive past, I have yet to see anyone travelling through it, other than park staff in official vehicles, or the occasional contractor. This is how taxpayer money gets spent the wrong way...

This park has a beautiful view under the Whitestone Bridge. There are bbqd pits and tables available for summer picnics and bbqs. Theres so much land, bike trails and routes to keep you busy all day. Theres a small beach like area that isnt to clean because people like to pollute there. However the rest of the park is very clean and well kept. Not many people go there so its never crowded. Theres a soccer field with rows of seating for games.

Links style course is enjoyable to play and in excellent condition. Great views of the NY skyline. Last three holes along the East River are spectacular. The entire operation is well run by a friendly and professional organization. Pace of play is a little slow but that is to be expected on a public course. Great caddies available as well.

Beautiful park period. I love the walks by the water. Awesome view of the city skyline, queens, super closeup of the white stone bride. Great for running, walking the dog, bbqs and more. Fishing is great! flying planes and kites is so much fun, Soccer/football, base ball, just an overall fantastic park!

I used to visit with my parents during the 1970s. There have definitely been some major improvements. There are several athletic fields. However, the parking lot could use better paving. Its just as bad as it used to be. The beach is very limited, too, but the view is just as fantastic as ever.

Just a gem of a public space. Not easily accessible via public transit, but I think that adds to the charm. There are remnants of former promenades that people fish off of now, right down on the Sound. Many soccer and cricket fields.
