When I moved to Mount Vernon I heard that someone had been shot and killed here. After that mess they shut it down and tried to give it a face-lift. It lasted 2 weeks. The park has remained looking like crap ever since. This is why we cant have nice things. If Mount Vernon as a collective ever needs to ask why this or why that? Look no further than Hartley Park, there is your answer.

It is the nicest park we have here in Mount Vernon. Hopefully "when" or "if" Memorial field reopens that will boost the morale in this city and its people. I do not see anything "wacky" about Hartley Park. It is clean and the children enjoy themselves. Parents can sit and get some down time relaxing while watching their kids play.

Recently this park went a simple renovation however the change is immaculate. Taking the large metal fencing around the basketball court! Made all the major differences.

Is is nice, but they can do a lot better. I beleive that any open space in New York should be used since there arent enough spaces dedicated for nature and as a park.

Nice park to bring small children to, plenty of great play area to keep them engaged and proactive. There is a bask to all court and benches for picnic and eating!

Love the playground with new Kompan brand sets! Covered area for eating or watching children play. Also, basketball courts available.
