This place is indeed under new ownership and improving by the day. The new course manager is a young guy and is very professional. The owner is pouring money into the place to get it back up to snuff. The greens keeper is doing a great job turning the place back into the course it was in the mid 1990s. The staff is all very friendly! My first day out there this year was on 4/16/2012, there were stretches of fairway that needed work and the greens were in rough shape. As of today, 5/23, the greens have done a 180 and are really starting to have a good smooth surface to putt on and are finally speeding up a bit! All the fairways are also looking 100% better. There is currently only one hole where there are stakes out and the left half of the fairway is under repair and off limits, as it should be, but it doesnt hurt the playabilty of the hole. Just take your free drop if you end up in there and enjoy the rest of the 8th hole. The Blue Heron bar is a great place to stop for a beer and a snack or even a meal after playing 18.

THis course was closed for at least a year, and it shows. The new owners have their hands full, and I saw little attention to the course maintenance. I played at 10am, and after a windy night the day before, there were branches and limbs down on many fairways. Simple daily inspection could have made it a better day. Do they not have rakes for the bunkers? How about just blowing some of the leaves off the greens??? Probably wont go back, even though at $22 it was a steal. A lot of crappy houses on most of the holes, and a LOT of garbage blows onto the fairways from their yards.

This is the most beautiful course I have been to in the Northern New Jersey area. Great lay out, not one of those courses that is crammed 18 holes on one small plot of land. This is a course when youll have to use every club in the bag. Afterwards, I went down to the restaurant Blue Heron Bar and Grill and was greeted by courteous staff and filled up on great food while enjoying the beautiful scenes of the lake on the back patio. I definitely recommend this course to everyone.

Played today greens are in great shape. Course has come a long way. People that work there are very nice. Will be playing this course a lot this year. Plus you Cant beat the price.

Run down, poorly maintained and just a silly layout. I guess it works if youve never actually played golf before. You can play in jeans and a t-shirt, which says it all.
