Eh / so-so / comme si, comme ça as the canucks would say. The Concrete Ship is interesting and quickly disappearing so if thats what you wanna see, go for it. The actual beach itself (Sunset Beach) sucks; theres almost no sand and its all pebbles. The sunset flag ceremony is nice but totally cheesy. You need to see the ceremony at least once in your Cape May travels, if for nothing more, to say you did it. Its nothing youd care to see or do more than once though. Im still just puzzled why anyone would think its a smart idea to build AN ENTIRE FLEET of concrete ships.

I love my concrete ship. Absolute best part of visiting Cape May. Just imagine time traveling back to 1926 and seeing this behemoth beached only 150 feet from the shore! And slowly, decade after decade, this giant sinks, disintegrates, falls apart, breaks in half, and what is left is but a tiny bit of the hull now. One day soon, there will be nothing left to see...make sure to get out there while you can still say "I saw it when..." It is beauty fading into the Atlantic....Thank you, Cape May Magazine, for finally featuring my ship on August 2016s cover!

This wreck is a testament to why building boats of concrete never caught on. One of several experimental boats built of the more readily available material during the First World War, it survived the war and was bought to be used for a pier for the Cape May Ferry. While being moved to its dock location, it broke apart and sunk. Now, half of it sticks up out of the water and acts as a sanctuary for birds a few hundred feet off the beach. It definitely makes for an interesting set piece while enjoying the beach.

You should really study on the history of the "logic" behind the concrete ships before questioning. Its all a part of our human history to try things as an alternative when the need arises. That said, the ship is a piece of its former self. Weather has not been kind to it. The other WWII artifacts are also very interesting, but slowly becoming nothing more than a memory as urban sprawl slowly consumes everything.

"Dont worry about the ship being concrete. Of course itll float!" Seriously, the notion of the concrete ship is interesting, and seeing whats left is as well, but time is taking its toll on the wreckage and you should go while enough of it is still visible from the beach. Diamond Beach is as much of a draw as the ship for the sea-water smoothed stones. Finding a clear one is a challenge, but worth it.

Sunset beach is enjoyable and the history is still there! But depending on when you get there and the tides, some days you can really see it while other days not so much. Come for the beach and if you get lucky, you might see it well enough!

Beautiful beach book ended by quaint seaside shops. Informative signage lets you know what exactly your looking at and the beach is clean, very well maintained. This was our 2nd trip here. Pretty place!

Worth seeing if youre in the area, if only to say you did before it disappears entirely. Sadly theres not much left of the wreck any more — just a bit of hull poking above the waves.

I traveled all this way and the ship was a total mess?!? I kid, I kid. The concrete ship is awesome. I just think its funny you can review a shipwreck.

Get there soon if you want to see it as it is quickly corroding and will be reclaimed by the sea before too long!
