Owner operated and usually onsite providing specialized knowledge of fish and aquarium setups plus maintaining the environment. Part-time employee also provides a separate service maintaining ponds and Aquariums. Owners wife bakes all-natural dog treats that are gluten free. Selection of other pet products have diminished but still has a wide variety of reptiles, birds and small cage animals along with a service of housing birds for people on vacation. Struggles with changes in large companies dominating the retail sector and provide more products at a cheaper price plus the online commerce. Needs the town to step-up and provide more for local small business instead of just catering to large business.

I was very sad coming here. I was very disappointed with the care of the animals. The fish had ick, the aquariums were dirty, on the bottom of the aquatic plant tank there was a piece of scrap metal, they were cohabitating two adult leopard geckos and a baby bearded dragon, and worst of all I found a VERY skinny savannah monitor. She was clearly very sick and skinny. She didnt react to my touch and never opened her eyes. Monitors are very active and move to move. They require very big enclosures. She was in a small gecko display cage. I was very sad to see this. Please do research on how to care for the animals.

been purchasing my hamsters and rats here for years. Im usually very happy with them. ive had a few that were bred badly and live short lives, also since they do not separate male and female rats and mice i have gotten one of both when i specifically asked for one gender. its quite frustrating when you ask for two males and get a male and female and dont realize until youre already home, and have them in their cage for a few days. but other than that this pet store is amazing, its the only place i trust for hamsters and rats since they are bred well. I just wish the staff was better at sexing the animals.
