Morning tee time on a Sunday and I could immediately tell this is as old as described. Overall, I would say if you are coming to Vegas to get some golf memories, go elsewhere. If close and cheap is what you are looking for though, this is your place. I got a military rate so it was at least 50% cheaper than other places in the general vicinity of the Strip. Taxi ride was between $15-$25. It was kept pretty well however, the geese, pigeons and ginnea chickens have sort of taken over. I was paired with one other guy who was nice and never really felt rushed. Really felt like a municipal course with all the goose doo-doo and run down houses that were obviously built when Vegas was born. Pace of play was pretty good given it was pretty full, we played behind a female foursome who seemed to be locals and efficient players....Thanks! The staff was nice and the cart guys were professional and generous.

Played LV National last week on my visit to LV. The course was in very poor shape and play was very very slow. Ended up quitting after 12 holes. Most of the homes around the perimeter of the course have seen their day. At one time in its day this was the place to play golf in Vegas. Far from it now. Then when you add in the green fees of $109/pp this was a slap in the face. Played another course the day before this and paid $59/pp and got 100X more satisfaction out of it. After our 12-hole round and packing up in the parking lot I then realized why the lot was 1/4 full. Then I asked myself why was play so slow? Thats up to the staff to figure out. Las Vegas National is off my list for my next Vegas trip. Sorry guys but it was bad.

Sad to read some of these posts. Old Vegas getting left in the dust I guess. Riviera Country club once upon a time. I played this place a lot back in the 80s and 90s when I still lived in Vegas. It still has a place in my heart as a special course. My first under 80 was right there in the winter and yes it was wet and wind was heavy. I use to pay 40 bucks for local rate. I re lived it via google map. Glad it looks like they havet changed a thing. Miss my favs in Las Vegas from back then. You could play the strip for as cheap as 14 bucks at the Tropicana summer rate and 42 for the Dunes. I sure miss those 3 courses. Great times for me.

Horrible shape, slow greens, and depressing vistas! I was so excited to play this course as it was pitched as a historical place, and a throwback to classic vegas and vintage golf. Unfortunately it was more like the land that time forgot. The course was in miserable shape, and for $79, I would have expected a great deal more, considering other public courses like Angel Park offered a great experience, at a bargain $45. Based on those two alone, this course should have cost in the neighborhood of $20. A real let down, and a definite pass the next time Im in Vegas.

I played two rounds here from the back tees and found the course to be quite challenging. some of the my approach shots were made interesting with all the water in play. Greens were in great shape , with the exception on #1 (under repair) and the fairways were lush and green. being so close to the strip is a big plus... The 60s style houses around the perimeter of the course are a "crack-up" I havent seen homes with "rock roofs" in a while. Like going back in time to the 60s all over again.... I will come back on my next Vegas Trip!!!

Best test of golf in the city. A true shotmakers course. Not a target desert course but a thinking golfers course. Lots of trees, strategic bunker placement. Need to be able to hit fades and draws to really score well. No ridiculous carries over the grand canyon either. 5 par threes to test you on. Just a great mature course that doesnt feel like a typical Vegas desert course. Condition at the course is very good now too. New group seems to be doing a great job of sprucing her up. Lots of history here too.

Everyone at Las Vegas National provides exceptional service and I just had a great time playing where all the old greats have played in the past. The conditions were the best I have ever seen it here at LVN and I cant wait to play it again. I really enjoyed the layout of the course it seems simple and easy but for some reason it is challenging for me to score well on this course. This is a great course for all handicaps but would be best if your an 18 or under in my opinion.

I played at National on 08/08/2013 and the greens were covered in sand, I could not see any grass. I have lived in Vegas for 23 years and the times I have played Las Vegas National the course it has never been in good shape from tee box to green. The price is ok but there are too many other good courses for tha same money. Also I am wish the staff would just be honest and up front when you call and ask about course condition.

This Ownership and Management are Racist! My group that is 3 Black men who signed up for the 9 hole resident special of $29. We were told that the rate had changed to $45 per person when we arrived. The Owner said that the have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. He said why dont you people go to Las Vegas Golf Club, where YOU ALL will feel more at HOME!

Service at check in and service at the starter was deplorable. Rude, arrogant, and mean! It was so bad that we packed our bags and left! This place is stuck in the era of the rat pack with attendants servicing clients with an attitude that we are lucky to play the course. I WILL never Come here again and I recommend that anyone considering playing here... GO Somewhere else!

A nice retro feel at the clubhouse along with the surrounding neighbourhood. Excellent breakfast. The course itself was in great condition with lush fairways and very nice greens. Its a long course with very long Par4s. Usually 170-195 yards in for your second shots with a good drive. Very nice round of golf and a pleasurable experience. Will be back.

Played Saturday 8/02/14. The course is challenging and in great shape. Good shots are rewarded and the generous fairways keep the pace of play moving along well. The staff were all terrific, Pro Shop, Snack Bar, Beverage Cart, and Cart Barn were all attentive and remarkably pleasant. Great experience right in town!!

Nice course at a very decent price in Vegas. It is an older course but was well maintained for a Late October round. The staff was great and you have to try the golf boards! Its a challenging course for any golfing level. Also the last hole runs up along Sam "Ace" Rothsteins house from the movie Casino.

Overall loved the course, facilities are good. Got a good deal through GolfNow at that time, teed up early in the morning. Conditions were good and staff were great (they can spot a tourist once you enter the door LOL) Location is nice, not at the strip but its right in there ;)
