We have been here three times. The first time it took at least 35 minutes to get our drinks and over an hour for food. We have two kids and that is way to long to wait. The food was great so we decided to go back with a friend. The second experience was worse. We had to go order our own drinks. The food was not as good and we could not get the check. Our waiter continues to ignore us. After trying for 35 minutes we got up and left. We had to pick our kids up at a certain time and could no longer wait around. We came back down to pay the next day and they had no idea we even left. The third time and our last time was the absolute worst. The waitress told us the kitchen is really slow and it was not her fault. We ordered drinks and never got them. My dad went to the bar to get them. The waitress came 30 minutes later and took our order. She said it would be about 30 minutes but she would keep checking on us. She never came back. We will rested drinks again at the bar. When she finally came back 45 minutes later our food was still not ready. She said it would be another hour. I told her to cancel the order because we were already there for two hours. I ordered pizza from your rooftop and went home. This is very disappointing if you are reviewing bad reviews you need to do something about it. The staff you have serving the tables trash talk to restaurant as well as each other. It is time to clean house and get better employees.

First, this bar/restaurant is aesthetically amazing. Excellent outdoor area to eat as well. This is one of my favorite places to go in Washington for that reason. The food is good too! Ive been here three times now.Two of the times have been during their non-busy times of day, which was not an issue. The most recent time Ive been was on a Friday night (Mid May 2017) with a band playing. My friend and I ordered a Moscow Mule and House Brown (a beer on tap that was listed on their board). The first bartender knew what a Mule was, but stood in front of the taps for 2-3 mins looking for the House Brown and could not find it. She offered my friend something similar, so my friend accepted not knowing why the bartender didnt know where the beers were. Later, when it was time for another round we decided to try the other bartender for better luck. This bartender knew where House Brown was, but not how to make a Moscow Mule. She instead told me "I dont know how to make that, so pick something else". I explained what was in it, and she gave me tonic water and vodka instead of ginger beer and vodka. Overall, I love this place. I think the lack in knowledge in this aspect of the business has to hurt them, considering they have a really nice, big bar. I would come here again, I just hope they can improve in the future!

To start with, when I unrolled the napkin to get the fork and knife out and the knife was filthy. I ordered a diet coke, and after drinking about 1 1/2" out of it I notice that there was food stuck to the inside of the glass....ewe. The waitress apologize and brought me a glass of water. (I wanted something I could see the entire glass through before drinking any of it). the buffalo chicken wrap lacked buffalo chicken flavor. It was more of a feta chees wrap. Once my bill came it had the diet coke on it. Nope, not doing that. Told the waitress it was on there and that I had no intension of paying for it. I asked for a new bill without the diet coke and she snatched up the bill and said "Ive got this, your meal is free" . I was not looking for a free meal, and told her that. The fact that I didnt care for my food was my choice. Im the one that ordered it. I went over to the bar to inform her that I was not looking for a free meal and I would like another bill without the diet coke on it, and she was actually nicer this time. (Not as snippy as she was when she snatched the bill of the table and crumbled it up). She said no charge. I put $10.00 on the bar anyway because Im not looking for a free meal. Will not be back there!!!

My husband and I used to take family and friends to Driftwood all the time because we love the atmosphere, outdoor seating, music and Jamaican Jerk chicken salad. We were willing to overlook the consistently terrible service because of all these other positive traits...until now. The final straw is that four months ago a group of young musicians played at Driftwood and were told by the owner they would receive half the profits from that night. The place was PACKED with families, friends and members of the community in support of this talented group of high school students. Our table alone had 16 people who all ordered appetizers, dinner and drank for hours. Every table was full and there were tons of people standing and drinking as well. At the end of the night the owner said he had to "check the books to make sure he made any money". The band has followed up at regular intervals with the owner ever since and has gotten the run around. He has not paid them ONE CENT and will not even return their calls. I feel strongly about supporting local businesses, but refuse to support a business owner that would take advantage of Washingtons youth and behave in such an unprofessional manner.

Terrible and non existent service. Brought entrees out before appetizers which we sent back and told them we wanted new steaks after our appetizers. Asked what kind of cheese was in the stuffed mushrooms because my husband doesnt like cream cheese and was told it definitely was not cream cheese.....it was cream cheese. Sent that back. I ordered bruscetta. What I got was chopped flavorless tomatoes and onion with parsley setting in the tomato juice, no olive oil, balsamic garlic or other seasoning. Didnt eat it. Saw another man go up to the manager at the bar to ask for menus and service because he too, had waited at least 7 minutes to be acknowledged and the manager was rude to him. No one cares about the food or customer in this place. Stay away. Almost forgot, we were served the same steaks, now cold.

Worst service ever!!!!! I felt like we were getting discriminated... almost 20 minutes waiting for a waitress to ask us for are orders, while 10 minutes later two tables got sat down as well and got serviced... patiently, we waited because I wanted my boyfriend to try this place so bad. I was absolutely disgusted, uncomfortable I cant believe how embarrassed I was because not one waitress asked us what we wanted just glares and stares I never wanted to cry so much it was awful!!!! So we departed then they cared... No thank you...I will tell everyone I know ow not to go here.

Waited nearly 2 hours for cold food. We had a group of 6 with 2 being kids who had to wait 2 hours for their peanut butter and jelly. As any parent knows, this was not good. We had to finally ask for crackers. The sweet waitress apologized multiple times and told us our bill would reflect the terrible service. When it came time to pay, the owner/manager wouldnt come talk to us and would only discount our party of 6 a total of $5 off the entire bill. Unacceptable. We wont be returning.
