2.0 star rating 3/12/2016 I came in on a whim one Tuesday afternoon to kill some time and check out a store I hadnt previously visited. Perhaps I just came in on a bad day, but I was beyond disappointed with this place. Maybe Im just spoiled, having been in the hobby and industry for the last 27 years, but a place like this has nothing to offer the expert reef keeper. Dead and dying/bleached coral frags galore, multiple melting anemones (the smell is unmistakable), unhealthy livestock (what little there was to look at), multiple dead fish just floating around, stuck to filter inlets, or sunken and stuck in the back corner. Most of the corals in stock, and there werent many, were shriveled up, an indicator of poor water quality and overall maintenance. If you buy from this place, I sure hope you have a quarantine tank, because you may destroy your hard work with an unhealthy fish, coral or invert. Caveat Emptor. On a lighter note, the one staff member on duty was friendly, attentive, and enthusiastic, if not a bit underwhelming with their knowledge of the hobby. I will revisit sometime in the near future and update my review, but my first impression was not very positive.

I have zero complaints about this place, I would recommend it to anyone. As the previous reviewer stated, theyll test your water any time for free. They are extremely well-versed in the hobby and all of the facets that come with it. I walked in there expecting to just look around, but walked out deciding to go with saltwater instead of brackish water. Now, two weeks later, my waters NH3, NO2, NO3, and salinity levels are in order, and Im a short time away from getting more fish! They even helped me get through my blunder of getting a green spotted puffer too soon, and now hes happier than ever in 1.024 salinity! Check this place out!

First off,let me say the negitive reviews are bogus. I have been going here since theyve opened and they have always been prompt with service. I have bought live stock, used epuiptment, and live rock which have always been of great quality. The owners and staff are very knowledgable.I have been to most all the other stores in ST.Louis and I personally believe they are the best.

25 mins and no greeting, assistance, or even an acknowledgement of our existence. Employees (I assume, but have no proof either of the 2 worked there) were too busy talking at the counter to even notice us. It is a pity, as they had some great looking clowns, but we drove to another store and got a clown in less time than we waited at this place.

Mark and Brook are both very knowledgeable of the saltwater hobby and always willing to help. They may not have the largest selection in the STL area but you know that they are going to sell you something that will thrive in your tank.

We have been going into this shop for years trying to convince ourselves to dive into saltwater aquarium ownership. Once we did, we got all the necessary help from this friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommend this store!!

Very disappointed in staff not acknowledging customers. This was my third visit and have to get employees attention for help. Not a good selection and everything looks like its waiting on death. I will never go back
