My fiance and I attended a birthday party for a friend who reserved a VIP table front and center. We were all having a good time as usual but then we started requesting songs and paying money to get them played. The songs werent getting played, instead the old guys who performed kept playing the bachelorette parties songs. (Keep in mind we had military guys and the birthday boy was military) It was really starting to get frustrating! We were then presented champagne for VIP which was fine. A little while later a large party walked out because they werent getting their songs played and were tipping $5-$10 per song request. Our birthday party decided we were going to leave too and got our tabs. It was an extra $20 per person or whatever to get the VIP experience (whatever that was) plus our food/drink and the songs that didnt get played. I decided to talk to the server about it and she got the manager (p.s I have experience in the hospitality industry so I know how it works). I mentioned to the manager that I didnt feel we had been given a VIP experience after tipping the musicians for all the songs that never got played plus $20 per person for some champagne. He decided to take the VIP champagne off the tab and then say that my fiance and I had to give them a copy of our ID because we were banned from ever coming back. Im sorry but just because someone complains doesnt mean you ban them forever. Ive worked in late-night bars where people get in fights and we dont ban them forever. If someone complains about their food we dont ban them forever. Its a little ridiculous to me.

Usually this is a fun place to be but the last time we were here, the staff was completely rude and arrogant. My friend who went with me, had one shot and then was drinking water the rest of the night. As she was walking by the bar, she tripped over another girls shoe and the bartender kicked her out! She asked why and he didnt even try talking to her and just started yelling. It was ridiculous! The bouncer wouldnt even just talk to her to find out she was sober cab and drinking water! It was extremely rude and I have seen this happen here a couple times to other people. We had a huge group there and we all left after the horrible service. To top it off, we didnt even go through our server for drinks (she was never around) but still got charged 20% gratuity even for drinks we had to go to the bar to get!

Management is terrible. There isnt much dueling piano competition in the Twin Cities so its frustrating thay they clearly dont value customer service. I asked to speak to a manager to resolve a simple issue- took the poor server over 15 minutes to find her. I spoke with the "General Manager-Angela" she was aggressive, defensive and rude. I told her I wanted to share my negative feedback directly instead of posting online but her terrible attitude lead me to Google anyways. Dueling piano bars are a great time but Ive been 10x more pleased with these bars in many other cities. Get your management together ShoutHouse- dont make the face of your company someone who clearly cant take feedback!!!!!

Okay, the waitress was a sweetheart, who was completely embarrassed by the jerk who eggs on the crowd, encouraging everyone to participate, then suddenly goes ballistic and kicks out an unsuspecting person only because he or she are engaging as hes asked. That blew it for me. Ive been to piano bars. The talent is always good. The better ones are the ones who know how to get the crowd rocking but turn it down when they get a little overzealous. No wonder Block E is going down. Who wants to go back after that? Ive been there 3 times and the people theyve chosen to kick out of their precious place were middle aged adults, not obnoxious, but just fun. Save your money.

I have been to several duel piano bars around the country and this has to be one of the worst. I love Minneapolis and the places around it but this has to be one of the worst places you can go to enjoy the night life of downtown. If you want a good experience, this is not the place to go. Try 1 of the other several night clubs around the area. The piano players are ok(seen and heard better) and the staff could be better. The pricing is typical for a place like this but the service isnt that great. If you have a complaint just never go back because you will most likely just be banned for complaining(management logic in this place is mind blowing).

Arrived earlier tonight to meet a few friends for drinks. My wife brought her green card as a photo ID. The bouncer and staff member at the door informed us that they only accept government issued ID. When I pointed out that a green card is afederally issued photo ID that serves as a substitute for all non-licensing state IDs, they informed me that they didnt accept it anyway. We were then getting ready to leave since we didnt/couldnt argue with them, and then the bouncer uttered a racial slur against Asians that was somehow quite audible over the loud music. Never going there again and I hope you dont either.

Pros: Busy atmosphere, servers were ontop of their game, great entertainment, and food to price ratio was decent. Drinks were reasonable in price. Convenient parking across the street. Cons: 5/6 people in our group were sick afterwards. Didnt share anything that was the same, suspect it was the drinkware with soap residue leftover. Dont know their washing system. Unsure if I will return..Getting the shits from sanitary conditions is a big deal as only management has control over that. And from what Ive read management doesnt seem too user friendly.

Loved this place. It is extremely entertaining. The first time I went was during a girls weekend.. We laughed, we danced, we sang... we drank. It was great. The next time we took our significant others with us, they enjoyed it as well. We got there early to get a table..and also ordered a pizza. Shout house officially made me start putting pickles on every bacon cheeseburger pizza I have. The entertainment is great.. we laughed quite a bit. The bouncers are good about getting overly annoying drunk people out.

Aside from the great music and fun atmosphere, the staff is great. They do a very good job of ensuring there are enough bartenders and servers on hand for any given night. Theres always 2 or 3 bartenders at each bar, so waiting for drinks is usually not an issue. Only on extremely busy nights where it is standing room only may you have to wait in line at the bar. It also helps that they know what theyre doing and are nice people. The entire staff at this place does an awesome job and keeps me coming back!

After a concert on a Saturday night we stumbled on over to check it out seeing how someone we knew had friends there. We went in and saw how packed it was so I expected people to be rude and what not when trying to maneuver around the place but it was nothing like that the staff were super nice people were happy the place was very alive. I love this place and plan to go back with anyone willing to come with me. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun place to have drinks.
