Their air conditioning does not work with all the people in the summer, so expect temperatures to be VERY HOT and you sweating your butt off and breathing body odor. Dont expect to check your coat on a busy night in the winter, their coat check only has room to serve about half the people, so we have been turned away every time. The floor is always a mess, it feels like walking through a muddy puddle on some nights. On their busy nights, you are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with other patrons, so youre lucky if you can move around enough to dance or get to their small bar. The bouncers are terrible. Let random people skip to the front of the line and shove their way though people, spilling peoples drinks and contributing to the puddles of booze and filth on the floor. Dont you dare accidentally bump into one of them when in the club, I have seen their bouncers get into multiple physical fights with patrons. Sure that happens at any club with a bunch of drunks, but seeing patrons punched in the face, kneed while they are on the ground, and have spectators shoved away to keep them from watching is ridiculous. I have been to Honey on multiple occasions. The bartenders are great and pour good drinks. Their 90s music dance party (first Saturday of every month) is by far their most busy night and can be very fun. Expect to wait in line if you arrive after 10:30pm and there is usually a $5 cover. Their Flip Phone Dance Party (once a month on a Thursday) is their gay night, but has a mixed crowd still.

Wow, whoever handles this places public marketing deserves a huge raise. They do an amazing job of playing this place up and making it seem much larger and a bigger deal than it actually is. Especially on social media. I mean, it got us in the door, but... Unfortunately the establishment itself got us right out the door within 10 minutes. What a shocker. Lets start by saying, its about the size of a 3 car garage, no lie. The DJ/stage is basically sitting dead center on a small wooden platform about the size of a bed of a truck. The dance area, is pretty much where ever you can fit. The options for seating are folding tables and chairs, probably enough room for about 25 people . I actually think we sat at a little console table like youd see in your living room. The bar is about the size of your household bar, about 8-10 ft long. And of course its located right in the entry way when you walk in. The bathrooms are small and dark, graffiti filled, gross and creepy. See pics. Lets just say, this place could probably hold about the same as a Starbucks could. Just a huge dissapointment. Im very glad there was no music playing when we were there, because Im concerned at how our ears would have fared with a room that small. Again, kudos to the marketing person, job well done! I would have never expected this, they make it out to be like The Myth in size and style.

I went there for the first time last night and I have to say it was pretty awesome. I read some mixed reviews about the place about how the bouncers are mean and the bartenders took forever but I didnt experience that at all. the bartenders were very friendly and work really fast considering how many people were there, and the bouncers just stood off to the side and mind their own business. unless youre going to be an ass then theyre not going to mess with you at all. everyone at the club was really laid back just kind of doing their own thing. its pretty clear people are there to just have a few drinks dance a little bit and cut loose. Im definitely going to go back. my friend and I also ordered some food which was really good. Their calamari is delicious. drink prices arent incredibly outrageous either, I had four mix drinks and a couple of shots of tequila and probably spent close to 40.

This place is a really fun party spot. It feels like a well run after hours party, so its almost a shame it closes when it does. The music is very loud, and the bar can get really crowded. The crew does a good job with what they have, and theyll treat you with a level of respect some places lack. They might take some time to get to you, but when they know what you want itll be in front of you in short order Still a really fun place to go to. Worth the heat and sweat, but that can be part of the fun.

I ordered Steak Frites, Guiness Chocolate Cake, Left Hand Milk Stout and the "Spring" cocktail. All of these were simple and excellent choices. The servers were prompt and helpful. Thats just the start, the guest artists "The Lion and the Bloom" were fantastic and had an excellent set of classy jazz numbers that were easy to swing dance to. This place is underground and hard to find but absolutely worth a visit even if it is just for the Guiness Chocolate Cake.

A small basement with low ceilings, and a narrow hallway which gets blocked by bar traffic. Went on a Saturday night expecting a decent night club, but found a bunch of college Grad students silly dancing to a sad music set of 40 second clips from the 90s DJd by a guy who was in his day in the 70s. Crowded (in a weird shaped series of rooms) Hot, and bad music. Dont pay that cover charge to see whats around the corner. Go elsewhere.

An okay nightlife venue with live dj and a dance floor in an urban basement. Its not very classy, but for some casual drinks and dancing its not bad. The patrons of the location are of all types and styles, so youll be sure to not feel out of place. There is a $5 cover on some nights, as well as a $1 coat check. Basic drinks, like a whisky-coke, will put you back around $5/$6. Cocktails like a whisky sour or mojito $7/$8.

The basement bar known as Honey is a neat place. Great venue for local bands and artists to gather a following. A good chunk of the crowd seems very image-conscious, but get a few [over-priced] drinks down and youre bound to enjoy the night. Most of the bartenders are friendly, even when the rush is on. Like I said, neat place.

Understaffed. Not worth your time. Okay... So they had a Tupac night. One of the main draws for the evening was that if you answered their Facebook questions you could win tickets to the new Tupac movie. Its been a week now and every Facebook mention of who won the tickets ends in slience.

I suggest this place on Saturday nights because of their 90s hip hop night, they have electronic music on Fridays and also live events during different days of the week. Expect a cash cover charge and also cash coat check. Its a low key club experience without the expensive drinks.

I typically LOVE Honey... always has the best DJ, my favorite place to go in Minneapolis to dance and listen to hip-hop. Went last night and after paying a raised $8 cover, came to find out it was "House Night." Very disappointed in my usual go-to bar.
