FORCED TO BREATH CHEMICALS WHILE GOLFING!! My friend Tom and I like to go to new courses so I thought he might like The Links at Whitmore Lake since he had never been there. As a member of the Golf Association of Michigan he even had a coupon to use. First, the pace of play was very slow with groups of 2 (not 4) and there were no rangers around. Second, it was in the 90s and there were no cart girls to offer an alternative to hard tasting course water. The kicker was when THEY STARTED SPRAYING CHEMICALS RIGHT IN FRONT OF US ON THREE SUCCESSIVE FAIRWAYS! Tom said his nose and throat were irritated and that he was quitting after 9 holes. I talked to the Asst Mgr and the Superintendent and they said that no one else was complaining about the chemicals. No apology, just sorry that Tom felt bad. (So go ahead and poison me if I dont complain?!?!) Then they said that It had to be done while we were golfing because the grass might die if they waited until the next morning (no lie). Finally the real reason came out from the Super "Am I supposed to pay overtime to have guys do it tomorrow morning(Sat) ??" IF THEY ARE WILLING TO SPRAY CHEMICALS ON A WINDY DAY DURING PLAY IT MAKES YOU WONDER ABOUT THE FOOD, THE WATER, AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT COULD HURT GOLFERS!!!

I live along the 10th hole (one of only two holes with homes), and play here several times a year. Its very scenic and always in nice condition for the 10 years Ive been playing it. You really feel like youre away from it all on many of the holes, especially 12-17. This course is a great value for the quality of golf. Its very fun and relatively easy to score from the white tees, but the black tees are a challenge for just about anyone. The tees are decent, fairways and greens are always in great shape, only the bunkers could use some work (they have started addressing the worst ones). And the practice putting green is big and very nice, next to the first tee and convenient to get a feel for green speed before you tee off. During the week, you can zip around by yourself or as a twosome, but like many courses, youre better off to call a few buddies and have a leisurely 5-hr round on the weekend. Bottom line, I never get tired of playing this course, which says a lot.

RUDE - The course is beautiful. Absolutely love it. Thing is that the 2 times I went the Young guy who works there is rude rude rude. Doesnt put you in a good mindset to start your game. First time he told me well I better keep my long shirt on because Im not supposed to wear a sleeveless shirt (It was a nice Nike one) however I guess its ok for women to since I saw women with the same shirt on the course. Nice time I bought a 1 player tee time and thought my Daughter couldnt play cause of a broken leg but it healed and when I showed up it was a big frickken deal even though I offered to pay extra for her - No problem. Guy wigged out than asked my Daughter about it to like see if I was lying. Id golf there probably every other day if it wasnt for this guy. Never have issues like this at any other golf course.

My wife and I have been going there for years. Its 15 miles from our house but worth it. The staff is great, the rates are reasonable and the course is perfect for the average amateur. Go to the back tees and you have a challenge. We live in Plymouth and of the dozen or so courses surrounding our home, we usually end up at Whitmore. The course is just FUN. And golf is supposed to be fun. Its away from traffic, very scenic and spread out. Tee it up out there, youll like it.

The "links" at Whitmore lake? Really? Links? From my understanding a links style course is long, without trees, without water, deep bunkers, and windswept. This course meets none of those criteria. Greens are slow but it is otherwise it okay condition. This is a tight course but quite short.

I really like playing this course, the fairways are in excellent condition and the greens are fast and true with very minimal ball marks. Its a challenging course off a lot of the tee boxes were your drives need to be spot . Its definitely worth checking out if your love golf as much as I do

Great course, played in the fall and the colors where just starting, you could not ask for a more picturesque setting. We played from the Blue Tees and teeing of on one hole on a man-made teeing ground half way into the swamp was quite unique. Ill will make sure I play it again.

Course is tight. No "light rough" off fairways. Stray off fairways, your straight into heavy rough making for difficult approach shots. Very challenging for amatuer golfers. Slow pace.

The course gets wet a lot. Service and people are great. Some kids messed with us on hole 10. Also. Dont hit any houses on the tenth fairway. One of those guys is a cop
