Great trail in the Kalamazoo area for moderate walkes. It is a very awful place when its humid as bugs and trails exposed to direct sun light make for a trip that can easily creat heat exhustion. On the other hand it is extreamly beautiful during the fall and spring seasons, and sun set walks during dryer summer days! Havent ventured out during the winter. Also dog friendly with a swampy lake and small stream!

My dogs favorite trail :) There are so many different routes it really doesnt ever get boring. There is wooded, lakeside, grassy field and even a small stretch of paved trails. Sometimes there are not enough parking spots, but usually not an issue. Trails are best for hiking but I also occasionally run here for a challenge. I havent tried biking but with the right type of bike would probably be fun.

Beautiful scenery in every season. Plenty of spaces to hike, jog, or just exist in nature. Bring a book and read on a fallen tree trunk, or watch the water fowl. Be on the lookout for people who think that leash laws dont apply to them. Bug spray is a necessity in the summer.

This is a great area with some awesome photo opportunities. The preserve appears to be well cared for, and is over-watched by WMU. The site should be cherished and maintained for years to come, and not parceled out for development.

Ive been coming here for years. Beautiful trails throughout, you can hardly tell the local state psychiatric hospital used to use the area as a dump. The deer here are so friendly, they will eat right out of your hand.

A very nice, well maintained place to walk trails. There are no paved trails, which I prefer. There are wide, well traveled paths as well as deer tracks and smaller avenues. Great place to get some exercise.

A gorgeous place for a hike close to town. Excellent waterfowl watching spring and fall. Wear bug repellent if walking in the woods in summer. One of my favorite places in Kalamazoo.

Great place for a hike. Quiet with several trails to choose. I prefer the south entrance off Parkview for entering the park. Remember to use plenty of bug replant.

Its a tremendous green space in the heart of very populated area. Wide, easily travelled trails. It can get busy at times. We are lucky to have it!

Beautiful Big and Small Asylum Lakes with woods and open fields. Surprisingly, there was a restroom, which is absent in typical nature preserves.

Very nice trail system. Few people pick up after their dogs and even fewer have their dogs on leash despite posts to the contrary.
