We came first thing in the morning and enjoyed it. There is a long walk to the beach from the ferry. Maybe it isnt that long but when youre walking through sand and hauling your gear for the day its a pain. Beach was pretty good. Lots of shells to find and the water clarity was decent. The tide came in around 1 and you could see the water clarity really decline at that point. The snorkeling was ok. The kids enjoyed snorkeling and finding some really nice shells and sand dollars out in the water.

This place is beautiful! The beach sand is really clean and white. The water is very clear. We found some nice size shells, some were as big as my hand. To find good shells you have to venture farther than where the boat drops you off at.... of course the area around the drop off point is picked clean. Just venture down the beach about 10-15 mins and the shells get much larger. Also, in the shallow water if you have a water mask, you can find large shells as the tide brings them in.

This is a beautiful place but its way too difficult to walk through the deep, hot sand to get to the beach with very few shells. If you have any disability I would think twice before taking this trip. To get to the good shells, you have to walk at least a mile from the drop off point, in sand. Theres no bathroom or pavilion on the island. The place would be best to visit in the spring or fall.

Really calm clear water. Not many fish. There were some small waves for boogie board body surfing. Madly just really flat, could go out very fat and water was still 2-3 foot deep. Love the beach at Panama city even more though. More fish to see in the water and the water was even prettier. Better to see both

Shell island is very pretty and its huge. We were just disappointed by the fact that we had a hard time finding shells at shell island. Its very crowded and lots of people. They do have a snack and drink boat. Id say its one of those things you do but not somewhere you want to keep going to.

Love it, so peaceful, beautiful! Taking a boat to see all the sea life heading there to island was so much fun for us and the kids! We found many sand dollars and seashells quite big ones actually!

We found a baby shark! Live sand dollars. We kept one as a pet. We have had it for 5 yrs now. Wild dolphins, they let us ride on there backs. WATCH out for the Crocs. Beautiful and best experience!

Beautiful beach for looking for shells and snorkeling. Saw lots of different kinds of fish. There is even a protected shallow area for the littles. A wonderful place to spend the day!

Its a pretty far walk to the beach after the ferry drops you off, but nice clear water though. There is a bunch of bitting flies so bring bug spray.

Beautiful!! I suggest taking a shuttle over and bringing a cooler with snacks and drinks and just spending the day. I will be doing that next time.

Very nice beach and water. If you want shells just go further down the beach where theres not as many people and you will find plenty.

Go there thats all I got to say. You do have to pay however, its not nearly as crowded as the regular beach, that is probably why.

Good off beach snorkeling. Water seems to be more clear off the beach. Primitive trip so pack everything you need.
