Best park to watch a game the Major Leagues. My list of parks I have been to include Fenway, Wrigley, US Cellular, PNC, Camden, Kaufman, Nationals, ATT Park. Reasons Comerica is better than all of them: 1. The Lower Deck. Many people complain about the upper deck in Comerica. I agree that it is too far away. But do you know that means? It means the lower deck is open (no TVs needed to see fly balls) and offers a better experience to enjoy the Summer weather. Your choice: Sit on the 1st base side for shade, 3rd base side for sun. I would strongly recommend paying a little extra to get lower deck tickets. 2. The Carousel. This is typically the happiest place in the park. The Tigers look very fierce on the ride, but the kids love it. The Ferris wheel is OK, but if you can only pick one, pick the Carousel. 3. Hidden Gems. There are many secrets to this place including 2 covered, guarded parking lots you can park in for free, a secret entrance to get in early, secret places to stand to get the best view, incredible places to get a picture etc. I wont go into details (otherwise they would not be secrets)... other than to say, do a little research and ask around. 4. Standing Room. Comerica offers the best standing room in baseball. Camden is very close, but Comerica concourses are wider so you can comfortably stand against the wall for the entire game with being elbowed. And the outfield Standing Room is visually fantastic on TV. For under $20, you can literally stand in front of the $80 wooden seats. Because of this brilliant planning, the stadium is louder near the in field... the exact opposite of the "blue seats" in Yankee stadium which keep the die hards far away in favor of the corporate crowd. 5. The RF Grandstand. A great view right on top of the right fielder for a reasonable price. The view in the first few rows is every bit as good as the overrated Monster Seats in Fenway. Kids love standing between sections 104 and 105 to get a ball from Torii Hunter between innings. The tradition of balls between innings started with Magglio who was always generous and interactive with the fans behind him. 6. The Staff. Universally positive and friendly, from the ticket takers to the opera singing hot dog guy... except if you expect him to give you ketchup for your hot dog (mustard yes. ketchup no).

I have never experienced xenophobia or discrimination until last night at Comerica Park - one of Detroits "hallmarks" for locals and tourists alike. I would like to start by saying I am a lawful permanent resident of the united states. Last night my husband and myself went to "Pitchers Pub" a fairly new bar at Comerica park to get a beer. When the waitress came to serve us and asked for our ID as is standard procedure I produced my green card. For any americans that have never seen what a green card looks like it has a photo ID, date of birth and is clearly United States government issued. This is a lawful immigrants ID pending citizenship. The waitress informed me that she could no accept this form of ID. To which I enquired why? She went to call her manager. Her manager came out smizing - her managers name is Carolyn Bender. Promptly told me they did not accept that form of ID. I asked why to which she responded "We only accept American Government Issued ID". This startled both my husband and myself because I had just produced precisely that. He then asked her if they didnt serve non Americans or immigrants. To which she asked me why I didnt have an American drivers license or American passport. Shortly after this she said she was going to the back to "see one more thing" came back out with a big security guard and told him "we do not want them in our establishment anymore please take them out". I have never been so shamed, disrespected, discriminated or felt such baseless hatred. Is this America today? There is no place for non Americans in America? I am taking this to the press and suing civilly - this is a gross injustice that the public must be made aware of. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. And I will not stop until JUSTICE is DONE.

Staff refused to help! Someone (an employee) stole our belongings and we never got them back or compensated for them. We werent allowed to go to our seats to watch batting practice because there was a church session going on in our seats prior to the game (make sure you check for that on Sundays, we paid a ton extra to be in front so our kids could get autographs but werent allowed in our seats until church was over but by then BP was over also). We set our things down in our seats and walked over a section to try and get an autograph from the last player that was trying to head in. During that 15 minutes a cleaning crew came through and "cleaned up" after the church people. Well they took our soft-sided cooler that anyone is allowed to take in (had kids low sugar snacks and juice specific for our kids needs) along with 3 of our jackets and a travel/summer bag with sunscreen, wipes, tissues etc in it. Immediately went to get help. They gave me the run around for 90 minutes sending me place to place to try and find who picked it up. Finally someone said they cant find who took it and there was nothing they could do about it. You would think after spending $700 in tickets that someone would care and help but NO! Well never step foot into that place again. Well drive to Chicago and be treated with dignity and respect!

I have been to 20 of our nations ballparks and Comerica is still my favorite. Yes, I am a partial season ticket holder, but every part of this park is fantastic. The entry into Comerica is breathtaking with the giant Tiger out front and the energy you feel walking up is contagious. Every seat in the park has a great view and the Jumbotron was updated just last year. You dont even have to go to your seat b/c the SRO only spaces are top-notch. The Pepsi Porch has large monitors everywhere and comfy outdoor seating, with a bumping bar. If you have kids, the Ferris wheel and carousel are very cheap to ride and great fun. The Beer Garden is my favorite place for food, but I have also dined in the Tigers Club and as a foodie, I thought the food was very good and service impeccable. The drink variety at this park is amazing as well with many local craft beers and fun seasonal cocktails. The service from the workers at Comerica is what really impresses me. My favorite vendor calls me by name and we have running jokes. Lastly, the fans make this a fun place to watch baseball. No matter who you sit by and even if you are routing for the other team, you will end up chatting it up and sharing peanut in no time with the loyal fans. I truly consider this place a second home.

Because I am in a wheelchair, we are able to park right outside the stadium for $25. The stadium is fully handicapped accessible and the seats for the wheelchairs are great for viewing the game. The ushers and the rest of the staff are always very friendly and very helpful. A couple summers ago, I became overheated and the ushers and medical crew were there very quickly to help cool me off. There are many places to eat in the stadium and we have preferred the $5 basket that we found that comes with a hot dog, chips, and a small drink. Food and drink can get very expensive. They have a great shop where you can buy anything that goes along with the Detroit Tigers. I also recommend going to on-field photo day. You get a chance to go out on the field while the players come around and µ and take pictures. The crowd is usually very large but you can get pictures with at least one or two players. Also, what some people dont know is that you can bring in a small soft cooler with bottled water as long as it has not been opened and snacks. We have brought along grapes and chips and sandwiches. It really saves money rather than buying food down there.
