Opening in 2009, the new Yankees stadium has all upgraded facilies compared to the former 1923 originial stadium which is formerly located only one block away. All the seats in the stadium give great views. The stadium is directly across from the subway so I highly suggest taking the public transport to the stadium. For the seats, please be careful because the incline can get very steep. It is not ideally for selfies. Speaking of selfies, selfie sticks are banned at the stadium. I would suggest not taking a large back because it is airport level security. Please leave the selfie stick at home. Here is my quick Yankees 101 Stadium Hack. There are few things that will make your experience more enjoyable. Number one tip is to arrive early because there are a few early bird specials. There are often giveaways on certain games for the first 18,000 people to enter the stadium. I have receive a Yankees branded mason jar, a bobble head and other Yankees merchandise for free. There is a sponsor so it is a win win for everyone for the early birds. Number two tip is going to Memorial Park. This is the mini - Yankees Hall of Fame area which is near where the pitchers warm up before the games in the outfield area. The stadium gates open 2 hours before the game and Memorial Park is only open for about an hour after the stadium gates open. If you do not go immediately, you might not be able to get in. Number three tip is to go to the Yankees Museum. Yes, there is a museum between the 200 and 300 levels off the main ramp inside the stadium. The museum closes around the seventh inning so do not wait to the end of the game to go to the stadium. To get directions to the museum, the staff will direct you to both Memorial Park or the Yankees Museum. The Museum space is one large room but it has a lot of cool items. There are the World Championships trophies, old time clothing and a mock locker room where you can put your name to feel a real Yankee. The first three tips are all free which is good to find in New York City because free is rare thing indeed. For the baseball experience, you can also show up early to catch balls during the batting practice if you arrive early. If you go to the outfield, you can catch balls in the outfield seating area. After you sit down in the stadium, there is your standard over priced food. For the economical approach, I have bought the buckets of chicken or burger sliders with fries. This is literally a huge buckets of fries. The bucket is super filling. I recently tried the sushi which was pretty darn tasty with the Delta Yankee Roll and the Tanaka Roll. The classic soft serve ice cream in a plastic Yankees cap is fun for kids and the young at heart. Overall, I have received good service in the stadium. With a lot experience at Yankees Stadium, I look forward to coming back from another game soon. On a perfect weather day, the stadium is one of the best places in New York to spend an afternoon or an evening

First of all, we love the Yankees and weve been to numerous games and never had a bad experience before. My husband is in the Army and we were excited to go to the game yesterday for military appreciation day. Its events like this day and every game when they honor a veteran that make us love and continue to support the Yankees and their franchise. However, we were told upon entering gate 8 that they didnt have any more hats and we were directed to go to gate 2. We arrived at gate 2 and we were told if we didnt come in that gate we needed to move back. My husband tried to explain and showed his military ID but the woman there just said so what? I have one of those! That doesnt mean anything. That was very disheartening. On a day meant to show appreciation, she made us feel like the Yankees franchise was only putting on a show, that they in fact didnt really care but only wanted to create the illusion that they did. Thank God for a kind man and his father who saw what was going on and graciously offered their hats up to my husband and I and thanked him for his service. He didnt want a parade or a grand gesture. All he wanted was a hat from his lifelong favorite baseball team on a day set aside to appreciate the miliatry and its veterans.

There is not much to say about Yankee Stadium that has not been said about it already. It is legendary . . . I get that - and YES I am a NY Yankees fan and always will be. Truth be told, I do not get up the stadium often enough and that is on account of two primary reasons . . . ticket prices have become prohibitive AND parking (if you do not have public transportation as an option), whether you are parking off-site ($30), or on-site ($40), is even crazier than the ticket prices themselves in the grand scheme of things. Aside from the pricing, the stadium is great, the food options within the stadium (in my opinion), are better than the Yankees cross-town rivals at CitiField. Youve got to give Mighty Quinns BBQ a try - the burnt ends sandwich is spectacular. But also, be warned - while the BBQ sandwich is "only" $14 dollars at Mighty Quinns, the concession stand nearby is selling chicken fingers, fries and soda for $18+ . . . not sure I understand the discrepancy here, but it is a bit ludicrous. Moral of the story, bring lots of cash for parking (although even the off-site lots are taking plastic now), and be prepared to spend big for food, snacks and souvenirs (but that should come as no surprise).

A lot of people go to the Yankees Stadium for the baseball experience. But, I feel like not many people gets the "Full" experience there if you just stayed at your seat the whole time. I think it is really cool to visit both Monument park and Yankee Museum while you are there. The Monument park opens when the Yankees Stadium gate opens (2 hr before the game begin), and remains accessible until 45 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the game. There are collection of monuments, plaques, and retired numbers honoring distinguished members of the Yankees. During the game, you can also take a break from your seats and go visit the Yankees museum. This museum features rotating exhibits on key players, events and themes in Yankees history. You can see Trophies from the Yankees World Series championships, the "Ball Wall," which contains more than 870 baseballs autographed by Yankees players, coaches, managers, broadcasters and executives, and you can also get your own locker with your name on the top! Dont forget getting some Philly Cheese Steak, Garlic Fries, and soft serve in the Yankee Hat cup! Read my full review on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

If I were purely objective and not a Yankees fan, I would give Yankee Stadium a 5 star rating but cant for selfish reasons that Ill describe in a second. Overall, Yankee Stadium is a great ball park with phenomenal atmosphere - IF youre a Yankees fan. Unlike attending a stadium for another team with a far less passionate fan base, I would not recommend rooting for the opposing team at this stadium given the hostility youd be likely to face. One other piece of advice: if youd like to see Monument Park, get there early because they close it up beginning in the 7th Inning (which was a frustrating surprise to me). The reason Ive given it a 4 star rating is because when it comes to baseball stadiums, Im a bit of a purist and wish that they would have preserved the original, historic Yankee Stadium rather than building this new one. Admittedly, the new 2009 stadium has far more amenities and is more comfortable for fans, but going to a game here can not compare with the feeling I had when attending games at the original 1923 stadium where Ruth, DiMaggio, Mantle, Gehrig, Berra and so many other Yankee legends played during their careers.
