Made the Pilgrim Monument a part of my family vacation since my daughters and I love "castles". Once they saw the monument they couldnt wait to go up. The location is really easy to find and the parking is just $15 and it includes a pass to the monument. There is plenty of public parking nearby as well. When we arrived there was a private event at first and the workers told us about the museum. The museum is small and its at the entrance before the monument. It had cool exhibits about the history of Provincetown. I really loved the replica Mayflower and the huge whale jawbone. We had an hour and a half to go so we headed down a small hill outside and walked Commercial St. After shopping around we came back. I brought two water bottles which they let in and proceeded to climb the monument. The monument has a combination of steps at the base then its most ramps til the top then a few more stairs. The ramps are what made the climb easier and we made it with no problem. The view from the top is amazing! You can see everything! I really loved looking at all the sand doons and coast line. I highly recommend this spot!! I also recommend wearing comfortable shoes for the monument and walking on Commercial St!

In May of 2011, the people at the parking entrance mislead visitors into thinking parking is free, without telling you that the white sales slip from visiting the monument is required to refund the $10 "deposit" for parking... not transparent in the least. Then, I noticed the person selling entrance tickets wasnt putting money in the register... and wasnt giving white sales slips to some visitors -- see above (parking not free for them). All that aside, the monument is tall... not much else. Theres little to see, and the behavior of those that work here is questionable... at best. Save your money and visit something worthwhile elsewhere.

Cute views if you follow 2 rules. #1 Do not show up with a full tank of bodily fluids. The restrooms are not open this time of the year and nothing is more distracting than having to pee so bad that everything you look at is being scoped out as a makeshift toilet seat. #2 You are going to see some *DANGER* tape around...climb over it if you want to see anything good. The views are ridiculous if you can bring yourself to behave long enough to crawl over the warning tape to get a good look at the ocean. It is a really long way down though so listen to the tape and behave yourself near the edge.

Walked from the wharf where we had parked...a mile or more to the monument. Pretty walk. But, you can park and get one free ticket in their paid parking lot. 60 or so stair steps and 100+ ramps of walking will get you to the top for spectacular views and lovely breeze. Interesting information about cities in the state on the inside to bolster you as you walk. Little windowed on each floor have a rushing breeze to cool you off as you walk up an otherwise warm inside tower in summer. Totally worth it.

Bello sitio donde el sitio se va volando !!! Playa, atraction, playas, sitios historicos, lights houses, walk in the sandy beach, restaurants, rent boat, stay in beautiful hotel, motel, rental home, bicicles path, the food, friendly people, whale watching etc etc etc. You just have to try, cause every time we go, its something new we find and enioy. We were extremely disappointed! My family of 6 drove the whole way out to the monument and got there at 6:33...or so, only to be told that they closed the gates at 6:30 and the monument doesnt close until 7:00? I didnt get the name of the man behind the counter but he had a mustache and the date was 6-19-17. Please plan accordingly so that you are not disappointed as we were

The views are absolutely amazing up here! You can see all of Provincetown and most of Truro. Theres a small cottage at the bottom. The climb is mostly a series of ramps, with some stairs at the beginning and end, making this an easier climb. Also check out Little Poseidons Adventures on Google Plus, where he provides pictures and information about his journeys.

Great views from the top. Built to commemorate the first landing of the Mayflower on North American soil at the tip of Cape Cod, in what today is Provincetown, Massachusetts. While exploring this area for 5 weeks, the Mayflower Compact was drafted and signed, before moving on to establish the Plymouth Colony.

Wonderful little museum at the base with lots of info and artifacts about Provincetown and other historical events. Small gift shop and rotating exhibits as well. The monument uses mostly ramps with a few stairs to get to the top. Amazing 360 views. Relax on the lawn or on a bench after your climb.

We had perfect weather for a climb up the monument. The way the steps/ramp is designed makes it relatively easy to get to the top and to come down. A blessing for these 55 year old knees. The view was fantastic. The museum was fun to wander around. Overall, well worth the admission price.

History, I love the excitement of the individuals who experience the monument for the first time. The photos I get from atop the monument are absolutely beautiful.. I also get a massive work out climbing the stairs.. Thank Goodness for the landing where one can rest for a moment.

We didnt climb to the top of the tower because $15 per person is a little pricey. Although that does get you free parking for the day, which appears to be a hot commodity around Provincetown. $10 per person and free parking would have been more appropriate for this place.

Is a great hike up to the top and there are the best views of the tip of the cape. The museum is very interesting and informative. Its a great break from the congestion of Commerical Street. If youre in Provincetown, Id highly recommend visiting.

Great little place with a museum and a giant monument to climb up and see everything. The price was all right a little expensive for what is it but its still fun and its helping a landmark stay erect and clean. I will definitely come here again.

Great museum with interesting exhibits that cover the history of Provincetown dating back to the pilgrims arrival. The highlight is climbing the tower for the panoramic views of Provincetown. Its not strenuous but there are quite a few stairs.

Once you make it to the top...awesome view of PTown, the harbor..ocean I loved walking up these granite stairs..be careful if its a rainy day these steps get slippery. Love the inscriptions on the walls walking up the stairs! True history

If you visit Provincetown this is well worth the $10 to climb the stairs. It offers a scenic view of the surrounding area and on the way up they have a nice touch for those who are familiar with Massachusetts and the various towns.
