"Lee Young Jun PEN ART" Pen Art(General Remarks) Infinity of lines and dots have symbolism. Such symbolism is ever changing according to the spirit’s depth. All works are kaleidoscopic; they are usually composed of indescribable expressions. Therefore, art’s depth also can be said to be unlimited. Is pen art’s depth also infinite? In other words, do the lines and dots flowing from the nib of a pen have an artistic qualification? In this respect, it is worth thinking deeply. Pen art begins from an essence of nature’s fundamental values. From the standpoint of value, or color, a harmony of black and white is essential in nature. As it is impossible to see any color in darkness, distinguishing color is an essential role of light. That is why the soul is drawn to light. Whiteness, or light is a spiritual reflection of the soul while blackness, or darkness is a reality of life on earth. As the color green is an essential color of vegetation, burnt charcoal is an earthy color that will stay near black. Blackness is heterogeneous and may be hostile to life. If blackness belongs to the essence of nature, it also may be said to represent the image of death. A combination of black and white constitutes degrees of lightness and darkness. When painting black on a white background, the soul is transported to the white background. Whiteness comes to life when contrasted with black line and black space. In this case, soul also may be expressed through the blackness. Soul may be transported to the black or a combination of white and black, which shed a mysterious merit to the soul or spirit. Pen arts starts and ends from an essence of nature’s fundamental contrasts. The primary essence is infinite and eternal while the artistic harmony of black and white can take one’s breath away. But, this is not possible until a metamorphosis has been realized over many years and spiritual transcendence has occurred. The transfer of spirit occurs when one’s life experiences are projected onto the white canvas in harmony with blackness. That is the true ‘pen art.’ Artist Lee Young Jun I am a Korean. I pioneered the " Lee Young Jun Pen Art " and Perfected the genre. I am Artist Lee Young Jun. Pen Art is the only genre is an important work In the world. The works are extremely valuable. And no one is able to work not dare to imitate. The hope my work can be sympathy to many people. Thank you.

Visited on a beautiful summer day and had a great time (as always!). Thrilled to see that the museum has made a STRONG effort to represent women artists more equally than many other museums. The indoor exhibit space currently has a large portion devoted entirely to woman artists! The only complaint I have is the cafe. The food was iffy at best (luke warm, soggy) and outrageously priced for the portion size. Ill be bringing my own picnic for my next visit. I did not feel the need to include this in the star rating as it is a museum first and foremost-- not a dining establishment.

The deCordova (or dee-cor-duh-vah as the natives pronounce it) is a fantastic contemporary art museum and sculpture park out in a suburb of Boston, Lincoln. Its about a 45 minute drive with traffic but well worth it over all. Admission is cheap or free with a Bank of America card. It has a very well designed indoor museum space spanning several levels going along a hill, and an extensive collection of outdoor artworks. Its the best contemporary art museum in the Boston area by a wide margin, with what is actually more useable gallery space than the ICA.

So many different genres/subjects of art to see! It is also nice to have both indoor and outdoor artworks to view. They allow dogs that are leashed in the sculpture park, but not the indoor museum. Please remember to clean up after your pet in order to keep this option available! The only downside to deCordova is the cafe, it is tiny, a bit pricey for average food. If you are planning to spend the day, I would suggest packing a picnic- there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy it!

I have been going here 2-3 times a year for about a decade now, and have not been disappointed yet. This place has been getting better and better with time. Their latest improvement in my opinion is the scale and frequency of which they rotate all of their exhibits. There are only a few permanent non-rotating outdoor sculptures, and everything else was new to me. (about 9 months since my last visit). Great place to go spend 2-4 hours exploring.

This is a museum gem in Lincoln, MA. The sculpture park alone is worth the trip. The gorgeous grounds are peppered with delightful sculptures. The museum is not too big and is totally manageable. In the summer the Park Fest event is great for families and art lovers - a juried art/craft show along with lots of activities for kids, food and entertainment.

Cool outdoor sculpture spread around the grounds lending itself to great photo opportunities. An interesting and somewhat large inside space with varied and interesting contemporary art and photos, as well as a place for kids to explore and create art. They have a very cool gift shop with kids toys, desktop toys, household items, and jewelry.

The sculpture garden at Decordova is glorious !!Fun, interesting sculptures artfully placed throughout the beautiful gardens and lawns . This is a delightful place to stroll, picnic, and visit with friends. The museum itself is a beautiful old building, with a unique modern art collection. The store always has fun, unusual, artsy items.

very interesting and fun outdoor sculptures, nice area to walk around and view them. The indoors is a matter of taste for what ever they are presenting. When we were there, the top floor had an excellent collection and display of black and white photographs by a well known photographer whose works spanned roughly 1920 to 1950.

Hidden gem. I like this place so much I got a membership. The art gallery and sculpture garden are each great and worth spending time exploring separately. This is also a really beautiful place to read or have a picnic. The cafe has great coffee, wifi, and good food selections. The staff is also great. Im here a lot.
