The wealth of historical information on display in Concord, MA, well-known for its role in the first battle of the Revolutionary War as well as its history as a significant Transcendentalist hub in the mid-19th century, is overwhelming. If its your first time visiting Concord, this is a great place to start: it provides a great overview of the history of the town, starting in colonial times and working its way through much of the 19th century and into the 20th, with particular focus on the Revolutionary and Transcendentalist history. You can also see a reconstructed version of Ralph Waldo Emersons study (original furniture!) and various special exhibits that change from time to time. Start here before you see Orchard House (Louisa May Alcott), the Old Manse (Emerson/Hawthorne), Emersons House, the Wayside, or the Bridge.

One of the first places i visited in Concord, a few people there werent very friendly but we resolved our differences, did meet a few people in there that were nice though and needed my help getting to the town up the road. Did some tinkering with their generator and believe it or not found a very old suit of power armour on the roof, and a Minigun, instantly jumped off the roof and hung out with the locals until a deathclaw burst from the sewers and tried to eat me.

My tween daughter and I visited here on July 6 - it was right at opening and we had the place to ourselves and stayed for about 15 minutes. Make sure you stop to see the Lantern hung in the North Church. Everyone was very helpful and informative. This is included on the Boston Go Card. I recommend the stop.

Awful experience.. Came here with a group and thought it might be a nice place to settle down, raiders ambushed the place. Had to get another guy to clear them out for us. Dont even get me started on the 12ft lizard outside.
