Have played golf for 53 years in many countries. Love the game. Cant afford those fabled courses with greens fees of $300 and up. Dont really enjoy paying more than $30 a round. I walk always unless forced to take a cart. Not a great player, but study the game a lot including course design. I think Northwest is a great public course. Many years ago it was a goat track, but for the past 15 years since I came back from overseas it has been in superb condition. Excellent superintendent. They have to contend with bad drainage on a couple of low lying holes, but have worked hard and overcome the problem. The holes have great rhythm and variety. Take the front 9. Nice easy par 4 to begin with, wide fairway to a very large green sloping back to front. Thats followed by a monster long downhill par 4 that you might as well think of as a par 5. Then a total change to a short but tricky sharply uphill dogleg right par 4 with waist high grass catching pulled shots left of the steeply sloping green. Then a beautiful downhill redan-type par 3 protected by a large, deep bunker in front, huge trees to the right, a small stream to the left. Next a long straight par 4 where the fairway is not particularly special, but the hole is protected by a deep, mounded bunker in front and huge contours on the green surface with deep grass behind. Next a long par 5 with a nasty fairway bunker on the left side of a ridge you have to get past, but a wide sloping fairway as reward for a good drive, then a wide fairway to a long narrow sloping green that can vary by up to four club lengths. Then another beautiful downhill par 3 with a huge green three clubs deep protected by a large bunker on the left. Next a devilish par 5 with a sharp right dogleg fairway with huge trees and marshy ground on the right to penalize over-ambitious attempts to cut the corner, followed by what feels like a 45 degree uphill fairway second shot to a small hard-to-hold green with tricky contours. Finally a welcoming wide open par 4 from an elevated tee with a large tree guarding the right side, second shot to a very large but friendly green sloping back to front. The back nine is equally varied. There is no water to cross, which is often a nice change, but beware the high grass along the edges of the fairways. No chance to find a ball severely mishit. The staff have been extremely pleasant in my times there. Remember, this is a public, municipal type course, not a country club. That is also why the snack bar has to close relatively early. Pity. But this is definitely a course you should play. Nice layout, excellent value.

I was having a wonderful day ,nice weather on a Saturday morning. Only a twosome two holes in front of us and just finished 3 holes when the marshall comes up. Hey guy he says you have fallen behind pick it up , we look around and say okay. The next hole he approaches the group and says you are off pace pick it up.I say you are joking there is nobody behind us he says according to his pace chart we are a hole behind .Pace chart you have got to be kidding , I told him to get lost I am going to enjoy my day and if we slow anybody down we will pick it up. The next hole we had the pro come out and follow us . So If you play Northwest park on the weekend they want 70 plus dollars and you are to run around the course like its a track meet even if you are not holding anyone up. Dont go there they have a bad policy!!!!

This course is long, mostly flat and right in front of you. The greens are huge, on the slow side and pretty straightforward. The challenge is only in the length. The price is way too much for an open course with no elevation changes or drama. The staff was not very friendly at all. Went there with 5 foursomes all 15hdcp or better and had the marshall on our backs the whole time. As we finished a par three, he offers that we are a hole behind. We get to the next tee box, a par four, and the group in front hasnt played their second shot yet. Play Little Bennet for less money, more challenge and a better all around vibe.

The Inside 9 is a narrow course that forces you to hit your shots straight. Slices will be your death. Hole 7 is a keyhole drive between 2 groves of trees and OB on the left. A fun course to play. Not long, but you must make your shots. The Main Course is LONG! Senior tees are 6200 yards. Blues 6800 and the tips a pro 7200. If you dont hit it far off the tee (me!), you could end up hitting driver/3 wood on many holes. I wish the had a red/white tee option to get the senior tees down to 6000 yards. Very reasonably priced during the week.

We played footgolf with my 5 year old and 3 other adults. Everyone was courteous and helpful from the employees to all the golfers we met along the way. The footgolf course was well signed and the greens beautiful. The footgolf course crosses the golf course in places and we found the golfers to be very thoughtful as we played. Well worth the time to get out with the family and encourage a new sport. Thank you!

Northwest has a 9-hole course (the inside 9) which is the best value you can get in MoCo. M-Th, its $15. A few of the holes are interesting and challenging. A couple are boring. But the course is in excellent condition for a municipal course in this area, and for the price, its great. Pick your tee time wisely, because its slow moving out there.

FOOTGOLFERS UNAPPRECIATED!! I WOULD have given this 5 stars since it is a beautiful course, but you are looked down upon by the staff, even as they take your money. I was expecting the "regular" golfers to be jerks, but the staff acts as though you are interrupting them. Hopefully Sligo Creek will be better; its closer to my house anyway.

Played a quick 9 yesterday evening and really liked it. Fairways are in good condition and the greens were fast but not impossible. Somebody wrote the greens are huge - the front 9 are not, just about all of them are protected by bunkers, the pins we all in small landing areas so it was challenging. for $15.00 to walk it was a steal.

Challenging golf course in very good condition. I went there to see my kid plays in the golf MC league. The 9 holes outside course is challenging for all kind of golfers. The layout is beautiful. Golf staff take care us nice and let us use the golf carts for watching the game. I recommend it highly-rated

The inside 9 is nice and uncrowded. The 1st, 2nd, 7th and 9th holes are easy. But the 3rd, 4th and 6th are challenging because of the creek, and narrow fairways lined with tall trees. Those holes really helped my game, because they forced disciplined shots off of the tees.

Its a wonderful course! My home courses are Worthington Manor and Little Bennet and this course might be a little far from where I live but it has great golf camps and its a nice course no matter how much money it costs its worth it so DEFINITLY go to this good golf course
