This place is great! For $10 my 5 year old and I spent almost two hours looking at the model train displays (the Xmas-time Lego layout upstairs is simply amazing, and the display in the mechanicss shed is just as great), role-playing inside the old caboose, and watching two actual freight trains roll by. This a facility where you should bring your imagination, and an already acquired love of trains to fully engage with what is offered here. Its not even near the scale of the B&O in Baltimore City, but it doesnt pretend to.

Went to visit the Ellicott City station museum on Sept 15, 2017. After enduring DC traffic, I arrived only to learn the museum is closed! Apparently its closed until 6 October or so. Just would have been nice had someone posted that notice on their website.

This is the oldest standing train station in the US. It is a visit into history. Further, they have incredible Christmas train displays.

Nice little museum in a beautiful historic town. Worth a quick visit as it is a very important location in the history of railroads.

A small museum (compared to the partner in Baltimore) but it still has lots to see and plenty to learn.

Come down here all the time. Also if you go to harpers ferry station, you can play subway surfers

Very small, only a single rail car. Part of the Baltimore museum which is amazing and huge.
