I usually dont review but after our experience tonight I felt obligated. We were in the area at Funtown and looking for a restaurant to grab some dinner with the kids. I found the restaurant (brew pub) on Google maps and after looking at the menu we set off. The parking was a bit different but so was the location, in a good way. The restaurant is part of a repurposed tannery on a small island in between Saco and Biddeford. The inside of the building has been completely redone but done in such a way that it highlights the actual architecture of the building including the huge roof timbers and wood walls. When we entered we were greeted by a very enthusiastic and courteous hostess that seated us. Within a couple of minutes our server Katherine arrived and took the drink orders. The pub offers a wide selection of house brews. I settled on the Bud Lager though I think our waitress could have told me everything about every beer/ale they have. For the meal I settled on the Mac & beer cheese. Then she asked me one of the best questions that someone can ask. Do you want bacon in it? UM HELL YEAH! Others in the party got the ruben sandwich with house cut fries, Maine crab cakes, spinach and artichoke dip, and others. I tried a little bit of everything and overall the food and drinks were AMAZING! Seriously the best food Ive had in a long time. Im seriously going in to a depression just realizing that I live 2 hours north. The food arrived in less than 15 minutes. The Mac and beer cheese with BACON and half of a ruben sandwich I had were to die for! As for Katherine she was the best waitress we could have ever asked for, I couldnt have expected any better if I was at a $500 restaurant. Even the kids loved it and got a great kids meal. It was a pleasure dining at such a great establishment, a true jem. Simply amazing job! Would and will be recommending to everyone I know! Note: We ate inside, they have 2 menus, the outside menu has more seasonal items on it.

The fact that the place is still running is a big happy accident. The building is nice and the only thing the place really has going for it. The management is really the worse Ive ever seen, and wait people are without personalities to say the least. The food portions are much smaller than they were when we tried the place early on in its existence. Is that duck plate even legal? Theres way too much salt and breading in this pub food. The beer is over-rated; its an insult to the intelligence of patrons who have a clue. If you are watching your carbs, your weight, your cholesterol, your diarrhea, just stop in for some music if you can find it.. They always put the wrong dates on their music lists and dont update their info.

Had a long wait over an hour when told it would be a 15 to 30 minute wait. When we checked to see how much longer we were told we could have a "picnic table in the sun" faster. The waitress hardly came over. Did not check on us to we if we would like another drink, or how the food was. She came over once said "food will be out in one minute" then left. Did not apologize for the long wait. Once she dropped off the food we asked for the check right away. Not the best service. The food was alright. Nothing too exciting nothing too amazing. If the meal came with mashed potatoes then it was mostly mashed potatoes. The prices are good.

The beer here tastes like the kind of stuff your friend in college wouldve made in a 5-gallon pickle bucket. Its mediocre at best. On the plus side, this restaurant has decent prices... and the authentic, unpretentious atmosphere of this old mill on the banks of the Saco River definitely helps. The deck is a wonderful place to enjoy a meal and a guest tap beer. The servers are friendly and Run of the Mill has generally solid pub food at decent prices but they need a major beer production overhaul in order to keep pace with the explosion in high quality craft beers currently being brewed in Maine.

It gets four stars for the restaurant and bar which feels really good, rustic, and has an outdoor seating area overlooking the river. Very nice. Folks are really friendly, from the hostess, server, and manager. I would rate the beer which they brew there a three star at best. I tried seven, which was what they had available. All except their IPA were bland and mild in flavor. They were drinkable but nothing exceptional about any except the IPA which was very good. I would go again just to dine out on the deck in the daylight for the view. We didnt eat so I cant speak about the food.

Plenty of seating & good service at RUN OF THE MILL in Saco. Weve eaten dinner there several times and always enjoyed the pub-style food. Our favorite is the CHICKEN QUESADILLA, stuffed with feta & balsamic-marinated chicken in a huge folded tortilla with delicious homemade remoulade dipping sauce. (We went back a 2nd trip just to order that again!!) Also standard as far as pub food goes is the spinach artichoke dip, mussels & fish-n-chips. Beer lovers will also be happy there. Definitely worth checking out when in Saco!!

Excellent food and beverage that is created with love and talent! The atmosphere is lively, both inside and outside in the patio, yet, a good conversation can be carried out while relaxing in comfortable seating, placed in a mild eclectic ambiance of the old mill surrounding that once was. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality and good portion that a person that dines here would receive. The staff is very warm, prompt, tenative, dedicated and knowledgeable. This restaurant and pub is a solid hit for years to come!

My wife and I placed our food order pretty much as soon as we sat down. An hour and a half later we still didnt have our food. When we asked to cancel the food and just get a check for the drinks, the waitress made it seem like she did us a favor by taking the food off our bill. We have been here other times and had better experiences, but unfortunately this is now going to be the experience that sticks out in my mind.

Just went for drinks. This place deserves a visit for its atmosphere. The indoor is a cool pub setting but the outdoor patio is the place to be. Has a view of the Saco river with plenty of shade. Also has an area with more Adirondack chair seating, oversized jenga and bag set. I did not care for any of the beer despite the good flight deal - $6 for 7 samples.

Went here because the online menu said they had options for vegans. Not so much... I was told they could modify the heck out of a salad, but I was looking for more than a plate of lettuce. They had a portabello burger special, but Im not a big mushroom fan. The waitress Alicia was pretty rude about it and looked happy we didnt stay for dinner.
