I have read enough reviews of the revival room on various sites that mention that the PA is too loud to wonder why they dont do something about it. I saw SIMO last night and the opening act sounded terrible because the sound was totally blown out by volume. The PA is twice the size needed for that room. Maybe they need someone new working the board because if he could not hear it sounded like crap then something is wrong. I guess they are doing a good job providing a place for local bands to play but when the floor upstairs is vibrating under your feet from the band playing downstairs, its pretty annoying. SIMO was great but I am certain I would have enjoyed them more seeing them somewhere else. I will give them 3 stars but really I mean 2.5.

I only dealt with one employee here, but he was enough to make me avoid this place. He acted like I was an idiot because I didnt know where things were around the place (I had only asked where the concert tickets were being sold). It didnt help that their own sound guy had screwed up the equipment so bad that the band I was going to see couldnt even play anyway. Then on the way out the same guy from before grabs me on the shoulder and starts acting like Im up to something because I made a wrong turn on my way out.

Ive been to a wide range of shows here from acoustic sets during the week to crazy fun dance parties on the weekend! Always a good time! Never been disappointed by a show. Its also cool that they have multiple shows going on at once, seems like youre in two places at once! The bar does charge $2 for water tho so keep that in mind if (like me) you dont drink but wish to stay hydrated.

My friends and I met in Newport and happened on this cool, Victorian venue. The bands were rockin and the drinks were strong and cheap. We had a great time! It isnt the cleanest venue, but the crowd was friendly and the music was awesome. Love this place! We would most definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Newport!

Really cool music venue with several performance places. The sanctuary in particular looks beautiful and still has all its stained glass. Be advised that the place can smell heavily of smoke at times, but this is a nuisance worth putting up with to see some of the acts that come through here.

Cool place to see bands. Two areas to see bands, one larger where the chapel was and smaller stage area. The night we went there was an 80s glam band on the large side and on the other a jazz quartet. The sound was great in the chapel and the stained glass made an interesting backdrop.

We stumbled on a great band in the bar section, no cover. Great music and enough space to do some dancing. People were friendly and we made some new friends to hang out with. Bar tenders were friendly. Beer is a little high prices for volume, but with no cover, reasonable.

Nice venue but the acoustics in the main cathedral really need some work. Way way to much reverberation and echo. Still a nice place to go even with bad acoustics in the main room. It is what it is, an old church.

Saw Pinegrove here last night - new favorite venue. Nice intimate atmosphere and the old church makes for some awesome vibes. Also easy access to drinks and solid acoustics. Cant wait to go to another show here.

A really cool venue. The natural acoustics and small rooms make for very intimate performances. Its totally a surreal experience being in the main room and feeling the floor move with the music.
